The Daylight savings time jump forward really messed with my sleep last night. That and knowing that DH and DS are safely on their way home. They have had a good week, not with-out frustrations but DS held it together. He was bummed about the 2 day drive home. He successfully dealt with an important piece missing in his Lego set, now on order from Denmark. He helped his dad through the replacement of the engine battery on the motor home, and fixing a fuse so the slide would work and move in so they could drive. This was after one of the planes suffered damage and they had to drive 90 minutes back to the workshop.
The two days they flew this week were a success. DS was the wing runner for every flight on the Tow plane, and retrieval crew for the GammaHawk glider that carries the rocket. He worked hard on Saturday and Sunday, and is tuckered out! I've encouraged them to stop and ride bikes at least once a day, so DH doesn't come home all stiff and DS has some time to move instead of driving all day. I am so thankful that the trip went well, it is an answer to prayer!
My to-do list is almost done, but have a ton of phone calls to make for DS's support worker, to find the right agency to fit with our family and DS's needs.
Might have some time to craft this afternoon? My free time and ease of moving around doing what I want when I want to will end shortly. It's been such a nice break!

I tidied up some of my out-of-control piles and focused on working through one particular box of supplies that I would love to use up. I had set aside a bunch of things to use on donation cards for kids, but they've been there too long and I'm ready to be done with those supplies and move on. There are other projects I should be working on but I get a bit obsessive when I am near the end of using something up. Does anyone else get like that? Quite sick of working on something but so close to the end that you are driven to keep going?

I get a bit obsessive when I am near the end of using something up. Does anyone else get like that? Me: I'm so sick and tired of this paper/theme. I know, I should finish it off by making a few cards! Brain: AIGHHHH! this PAPER!!!! Nooooooooo CARDS? Retreat! Retreat! Ooof, that was a close one. Hey, you know what would make me feel better? Shopping for new supplies!

This made me giggle out loud! But I will admit that last night when the brain wasn't willing to start something from scratch, I used up the three left-over patterned papers that I did the Lefse layout with. You know the ones that I asked on Sunday if they went together? Now the patterned papers are used up as 7 Christmas cards. That means I have 32 ready for December 2021! Only 70 or so more to go, very doable in the next 8 months!
DH and DS got home last night at 10:45 . . . they decided to drive it in one shot, 16 hours for DH! But it was really too cold to stay in Klamath Falls, and it's only 2.5 hours from home. I did odd jobs until they got home. I asked, so when you drive in the only thing you are going to do is park the motor home in the garage and come in and go to bed, right? Yep! Whew! So today was unload day, laundry day, start to clean-up motor home. DS had a good trip, so thankful. Few days of school for him then spring break. Oh, and I think he grew another 1/2 inch while he was gone.
BUT I will admit that I've been shopping for new stuff at Heartfelt Creations, because you know I need to make a new project for Imagine DT, and I want to use the stuff from Heartfelt. Good thing my budget for this month since I stayed pretty frozen last month isn't an issue!
I am now up to 5 priority envelopes shipped using our business name and address that were returned to sender. It is definitely a scam, so I will call the postal inspector and report it tomorrow. I went to the PO today and they said no one in their office could investigate fraud. I also sent an email last Friday, but all I got in response was a survey as to my satisfaction of the resolution. NO resolution you nimrods!

Hope all the dear Divas are doing well. I've actually been doing some things. Daughter and I are doing Zoom Special Olympics on Mondays and Wednesdays for awhile. My card club also is Zoom once a month. We're watched a British detective show, Snowpiercer and Robot Battles. Even if nothing much is going on here, I still read the Diva Discourse and enjoy finding out what you all are up to.

Very little reward there. jjpeapea - we enjoy Robot Battles too, and binge-watched a few seasons recently. It's nice to have a brainless/fun show that triggers conversation (which one will win? Which team do we like? what would we design?) and engages our boys too.

Had to have a minor surgery Wednesday, a small lump removed from my right forearm. Since I had today off for recovery and my sister’s boyfriend had to put his elderly dog down yesterday, I made four pet sympathy cards.
I have a four day scrapping retreat next week so I’m excited to get some cards made and posted. Now I really need to get organized and start packing!

Hope your arm is feeling OK. Sounds like you made the best of your recovery time. Enjoy your retreat! Is it a local thing or do you get to go somewhere. I remember going somewhere... sigh...

I hope your recovery is going according to your 1 day plan gmcwife1 I'm setting up now to play in this weekends crop Is anyone joining me? I plan: several cards (I have many thank you/you are awesome type cards I would like to give people) : finish current 2 page layout and create using the pop-up sketches that will appear ( ) : start my December Daily 2017 even tho I have no album (I have the page protectors) Remember to count DOUBLE points for anything you do craft or organization wise this weekend. There is a prompt today: 1. Theme | Let's kick off this weekend crop with a smile and get inspired by HAPPY DAYS. Scrap something related to a merry memory. Make a card for a joyous occasion. Think about celebrations, birthdays, a day out with the family, unfinished vacation albums, Mother/Father's Day, etc. This would tie in nicely with this month's Donna challenge which is "simple joys" - which is 5 points by itself - but doubled for the crop! So much of what I scrap fits these descriptions...

I got reminded of Crafty Jen Schow's sticker journal project this morning so I'm probably going to spend part of the day sticking all my annoying dregs of stickers onto notebook pages, and I'll try to "catch up" in my ephemera journal as well - stick down all the crap I have saved so far this year. I am thinking of combining the two into one book but we'll see how that goes. I don't have all that many leftover stickers, but maybe more than enough.
If you don't know about this project it's saved in her Insta highlights, but she basically fills smashbooks with random stickers. Some pages are rainbows, some are one color, some are by shape or theme. She's using up all the random leftovers on sticker sheets. She started doing it as low stakes crafting after she lost her father and didn't have energy for regular crafting.

The arm is feeling so much better! I actually didn’t realize how much it hurt Thursday until I woke up in the middle of the night with less pain. I tend to think I’m just being a wimp, when I’m probably not Since we are shorthanded at work, I ended up working a half day both Saturday and Sunday. And then I spent the rest of both days in my craft room! I did some cleaning and organizing and then packing and prep for my crop! Yea!! Of course I’m no where near close to being ready to go. But I did print a bunch of sketches last night and got papers together. My friends do retreats a couple/few times a year. I used to attend with them, but then I started showing the dog and still had our dd home so stopped. Since dog shows have been cancelled this past year I was able to go to the September one. This weekend is usually a dog show in my hometown that I love going to so my family can come watch. But it was cancelled. Luckily, somehow both of the retreats have fallen in our open’ish phases.

gmcwife1 - glad that the arm is feeling better. How exciting that you have a retreat to go to - sounds like it's a silver lining after the clouds of the dog shows being cancelled. I had a fun and very productive weekend - love the online crops! Now I'm doing an album reorganising project and that's not as fun for sure

Thank you for sharing your lives and adventures, Divas. We went on a Rails to Trails today, our first trail ride of the season. 11 miles. Beautiful day here. I read a book that reminded me of you all. It's "Love Lettering", free with Amazon Prime this month. The main character is WAY into her fonts. I even got out my Klutz lettering book and decorated some letters like the main character of the book does. My over 60 self skimmed the kissing parts and got back to the plot - opposite of my younger self. I made some cards this week, and helped my daughter make a card (seriously, that should count double for the patience involved!). I haven't created too much this month but I thought to myself, "Well at least I'm on Linda's team." I shared on the Exercise with Us thread, my daughter and I got our first vaccines Saturday. I'll be so happy when she can get back to her job, back to laughing with her friends and having something to do. March is quickly passing by, hope everyone is having a good month.

jjpeapea - I'm laughing at your comment - some months I'm super productive, others not so much. I'm glad we had the crop - it helped me get more done this month. Rails to Trails sounds awesome! Yay for vaccines. DS29 just got his first today (he's active duty) - he sent me a photo with his card

I haven't created too much this month but I thought to myself, "Well at least I'm on Linda's team." I will admit to not keeping close track of who is on my team month-to-month. As long as I have peas to chat with, I'm good But this month, with the crop, I did double check! I am not being super productive but I got a few points during the crop. This weekend there are a couple of online crops that will encourage me along. gmcwife1, I'm envious of your retreats. While I don't prefer single day crops (because packing up is a big deal for me. I don't create from kits, I need to take a decent chunk of supplies with me or I lose all my mojo) a retreat would be super fun.

I’ve done a few things this month. I even made a few cards and pages during the weekend crop—but I was too shy/nervous to join the actual google hangout crops. Maybe next time. I did get a lot organized in March and this past week, I’ve also purchased a lot of items. My current favorite is my Everyday Explorers Positivity Passport. That’s got me documenting something quick and easy every day. Ive done a bit of online shopping and some organizing too, so we’ll see if that counts.

I have a four day scrapping retreat next week so I’m excited to get some cards made and posted. Now I really need to get organized and start packing! Not the surgery part, or the special dog going over the rainbow bridge. But yeah for a scrapping retreat. Where in the world are they able to have these? Have fun!
Wow, after the online crop I kinda dropped out of sight here! I am happy with what I accomplished during the crop even though it wasn't a lot. I finished one more double page layout afterwards. I didn't do page kits ahead of time and that is one way to get great deal done, but then it is also prep time. When I went on my scrappy cruise in Nov 2019 I had page kits that I actually got done, then had more than a dozen to work on once I got home. I guess that was the silver lining. All that prep time kept me going after I got home when the rest of my mojo was tired!
Been in my greenhouse this week, first ever spring with my new greenhouse now ahead. Harvested the potatoes, cleaned up the pea vines, then spent time cleaning the grow bags. Still have some fresh carrots to harvest, and a few more lettuce plants that are due for the compost pile. DS15 helped me with cleaning the grow bags. He also moved all of the compost out of the tumbler into the raised beds in the outdoor garden. I loosen soil and used a turning fork to mix it in. The compost is still pretty hot, so I needed to mix it in well. Still a few clumps of steer manure I'll have to watch out for as I plant in a month or two.
All of my shelves in my the green house now have freshly planted seeds for all my veggies that need a head start, or that I will grow to maturity in the greenhouse, like the first round of cucumbers & broccoli, more lettuce, herbs etc. Tomatoes are started, as are chives, parsely, basil, rosemary, spinach, kale, cilantro. I think I remember them all! For flowers I have Columbine, two varieties of snapdragons (I like them short and tall!), dahlias, foxglove, nasturtium, African Daisy, and a entire flat of wave petunias. I harvested my seeds from my petunias from last year. Now to patiently wait from them to sprout!
I did make 12 Easter cards last night, soon to be posted as well! My own version of sheetload so to speak. Since the greenhouse is set for awhile, I will have time to craft tomorrow? Unless outdoor gardening of bulbs and such call, depending on weather and mojo.
Oh and good news, our taxes are done at the account, so they are off the plate too! Also some positive news about DS21, but nothing really solid yet, just a reassurance that others are on his team. DS15 had a friend over that he hasn't seen in a year, and that was great for him! We found out yesterday that our kiddos are going back to school FULL TIME 5 DAYS a week on 4/12! Our state legislature sends out a email newsletter, it had links to the Covid stats for our state. With a population of about 4.22 Million, we had less than 2,500 deaths due to Covid. Currently in our state we have 9 on ventilators and 122 hospitalized with positive Covid tests. Based on those stats that means death due to Covid in our state has been 0.06%. Other good news is that DD24 and ICU nurse in the Seattle area finally got her jab . . . she had waited as she didn't want to get sick as other's on her unit were after the vaccination, and the hospital asked the staff to spread out the the process. One of her colleagues called her and said, "hey we have a left-over, do you want it?" just tonight. So she's got number one out of the way. She also thinks she's already had Covid, as does her SO but they didn't test. She young and super healthy, so no surprise that she would have a minor case if she did. So she might have a reaction to this first vaccination.

Based on those stats that means death due to Covid in our state has been 0.06%. Well, *that* was an internet rabbit hole!!! I had to look up Ontario's death rate...which turns out to be identical to Oregon's/100,000...which led me to discuss with DH, which led to questioning worldwide statistics etc. etc. We definitely agree countries like Pakistan and Afghanistan must be underreporting (or unaware) of covid deaths. Likewise, I wonder about the Phillipines - their numbers sound rediculously low as well? Morbid start to the weekend

👋 sorry for being an absent diva this month. School has been kicking my butt this month! We have small classes due to covid but so many of our preschoolers have so many needs this year. 😥
I’m sorting photos today and filed all the pages I made in February. We are on spring break this week so I’m hoping to make a couple pages before the month ends.

We have small classes due to covid but so many of our preschoolers have so many needs this year. I'll bet they do! And when things go back to "normal", all these young ones will have to learn what normal school is about and there will be issues all over again! Remember to count your organization/cleaning points for your time schroema. Is anyone coming to join me online tonight? I'm hosting the pea-crop from 6-10 if anyone wants to pop in! I've been working on a layout since last Sunday - about nothing special at all, but the layout is a challenge - fiddly- using a paper line I really love - so I'm going to a lot of work for photos of low-importance!

We are stats people, he as an engineer, and I as a science teacher that has done research in a biotech lab. Risk versus benefit analysis, and so on.
I am concerned for those with mental health and addiction issues, as the Covid lock-down has just exacerbated all of these things! I wonder if anyone will dare do a study comparing deaths due to Covid and deaths due to suicide increase during lock-down. Again morbid, but it would be an interesting comparison.
Your layout that had what you considered "low-importance" that took so much time. Here is the real question? Did you enjoy making the layout? I kind of feel that way about one of my recent layouts, that the time it took to make the layout was more than the importance of the photos. BUT I had fun and really liked the end product! I’m not MIA, well I am but not on purpose! Was at my craft retreat Wednesday thru Sunday and the internet was super bad. So no internet. Though I did complete 63 cards. Then get home Sunday and our internet went out! The first available appointment is tomorrow between 8 and 12! So I have had to work from my daughters bedroom down the road! I will be working all day Saturday trying to make up my hours I will try to get my points together as soon as possible. I miss all of you and all the chat too!

No worries gmcwife1, you can jump back into the fresh chat tomorrow (or when your internet is back up). I honestly don't think my family would last 24 hours without wifi. All our TV/entertainment is streamed these days. Speaking of points: I have been tallying up *as I went* this month. Wow, maybe first time ever, and it feels good not to have to sit with a pile of layouts and figure out points at the end! A happy reminder gramma, joblackford, angel97701, schroema, jjpeapea, boymom5, Linda, ComplicatedLady, gmcwife1, alsomsknitthat there are POINTS for Cleaning/organizing crafty stuff (10 points/hour) Other crafts (10 points/hour) Spending (1 point/$) AND NOT SPENDING (10 points/day you didn't spend) - so just on this challenge alone I think each and every one of us should have at *least* 310 points Online or in person crops (10 points/hour) AND - DOUBLE POINTS for anything you worked on during the weekend crop!

kitbop I think my grand total is 2746, but will check back in later after the Yahtzee game to make sure I've counted everything properly. I've been using the spreadsheet and that really helps!
I don't think any crafting will happen tonight. I'm super tired. We've had another go around of FASD brain lying and contraband in the last 48 hours. Still making progress on his Independent Support Plan, and have an appointment to establish him as a patient with a new MD who is on his health plan. But I am exhausted, sometimes I wonder when the stress will end while care-taking a DS15 who behaves as a 8-10 year old. Sorry to vent here, it's just be a day.

Spending (1 point/$) AND NOT SPENDING (10 points/day you didn't spend) - so just on this challenge alone I think each and every one of us should have at *least* 310 points I signed up for the Concord and 9th virtual summer camp in June, but I paid for it in March. Should I count that as spending points? Since it’s pricey, I wasn’t sure if I should count those as 315 points for spending. I’m ok either way but I didn’t want to inflate my points.

I don't think I bought anything - DH bought me a pad of paper but I don't think that counts) so I'll add 310 points to bring me to 3744
