Just recently, I noticed the board was not acting properly for me. It used to be that when I clicked on the "new" word next to a post, it took me to the newest post that I hadn't read yet. Now, it just takes me to the very first post.
I cannot leave "likes" any longer. When I try to click on it, it just takes me to the top of the page. And there is a strange line to the right of the "like" hand.
This all started a bit ago, but I was too busy to sit down and try to figure out if I something in my profile had altered something. I noticed today that I can't even see the "like" hand at all any longer.
A few other things have disappeared. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I'm on an ipad and haven't done the update yet, so I can't imagine why things are not the same as before when to m knowledge, nothing is different than when it all operated properly.
Anyone else? And ideas on how to return it to working properly?

I have to be very careful where on the "new button" I click...if I click too far to the right and too close to the message title, it goes to the top rather than the last.

Everything seems the same for me. I was able to "like" the OP just fine. I haven't used the new button.

I just tried clicking as far away from the message as possible, but it doesn't work for me. The most annoying thing has been the inability to "like" a message. I used to use that very often. Now I feel like I'm being a real "B" because I am not complimenting anyone.

I was able to like the OP, but that is unusual for me, I usually can't use the like button and I don't know why.
My biggest issue is that I can't post a new thread or edit a thread on my iPad, only on my iPhone. This just happened one day and Dh and I haven't been able to figure out how to get my proper fictions back.
I can reply to a post on my iPad.
As a result, I don't post a lot of questions. I mostly reply.

Oh, and another thing that is gone is when I respond to a post, all the icons that were at the top of the response window are gone. And there is no "reply" button on the right to hit if I want to add a more intricate response. Now it says "add attachment" in that spot. This one is also highly irritating. I don't have the icons for posting photos or links or anything anymore.

Are you sure that you are logged in? I have accidently logged myself out without realizing it, and that is when a lot of the options disappear.
Oh wait, you must be logged in if you can post, so, sorry, I've got no ideas. Ask Admin?

The 'new' thing you describe happens intermittently to me. I am on an iPad and updated to the iOS 8 wotsit, which I am not impressed with.

I had this problem a few weeks ago when using my iPad
I've found that if I switch to the mobile version, at the bottom of the page I can like and post comments.
I still can't use smilies that well though

If the board is not working the way it should for you, unless it is a problem for everyone - which none of these are - then it is an issue with your browser and/or device. If you haven't done updates, that is likely to be the (main) issue. The further behind you are on updates, the worse the problems will probably get. I use an iPad most of the time, and I've had none of the issues described here. (The only time I have problems is when I log on from work, where I have no choice of browser and it is an old outdated version  ) If you continue to get problems after updating, try the ProBoards Support Forum, as I can't do anything about technical site/software issues I'm afraid. |

That's by design - you go to the first unread post if you click the new button; to the first post if you click anywhere else in the title box; and to the last post if you click anywhere in the last post box (except the poster's name) |

The "new" click to find the newest post only worked a couple of times. It's such a great feature, but it just takes me to the OP, not the one I haven't read yet. The other things still work well!

The new button for me is hit and miss, although mainly hits. My problem has always been going past page one. 90% of the time I have to hit refresh for it to work. So I rarely bother.
Everything about my computer is old so I just take the blame.

I have to click it in just the right place ON the NEW button or it doesn't take me to the newest post. When that happens I just hit my back arrow and try again and it usually works. Occasionally when I go back the NEW button is gone, but usually it works. |
