I have a large greeting I want to raise off my card. Since it's large, I don't want to add lots of pop dots, etc, and I want it to be popped up uniformly. Have any of you used fun foam or some sort of foam to do this? What foam do you recommend and what thickness? Thanks for your help.

I've used regular fun foam to do this, I think 2mm thick? The kind you can easily buy at Michael's in the kids craft section. However, for me personally, these days I prefer to use multiple layers of cardstock to give dimension. If the greeting is delicate, I've found that sometimes fun foam can have its shape warped while you're trying to adhere it, so cardstock is easier for me to work with. There are ways around this, like leaving the die cut greeting in the foam while you adhere the paper on top, so it just depends on your preference.

Yes, I use basic fun foam too, or scrap cardstock/packaging inserts depending on how much dimension I want and how much I'm concerned about weight. Cardstock can get a bit heavy if you're mailing the card and want to keep it under an ounce.
I also use regular 3M foam tape and chop that into shapes with scissors. It's not too dimensional and it's relatively easy to piece together on the backs of shapes. Bonus for being double stick so I don't have to mess around with adhesive, although using glue gives you wiggle room for placement.
I like to get full even coverage of whatever I use because I've seen too many die cuts get creased by not having enough support behind them. I hate pop dots.
The fun foam I have is Darice brand, 2mm. I bought a pack of 10 sheets about 4 years ago and I still have about 80% of it because I save all the scraps and use those to fill in smaller areas.

Thanks for the suggestions! I ordered some fun foam to pick up at Michael's tomorrow to give a try.
The greeting is loosely hand cut, so the die suggestion doesn't work for this. But what a great idea for some other time.
I'll remember the cardstock idea when I don't have to worry about the extra weight.

I use the foam packs they sell at Michaels. They are pretty thin, but work well.
If you have a lot of leftover foam letters, you can use those leftovers for small embellishments. Just wanted to toss that out there.

I use this. They work great, are super cheap, and 40 sheets go far!

I buy the fun foam sheets that have adhesive already on one side just because that makes it easier to adhere to my item. I also use layers of scrap cardstock for intricate dies or letter stickers.

I've been using it to cut my own stamps. I use 1 mm (the black part) for the cut image and 2 or 3 (the white part) mm to mount it on.

I use Darice Foamies sheets that I purchase off Amazon. I would add a picture of it if I knew how. I just diecut it and stick that behind. Nice height without being too bulky. I only use the white but there are other colours available.

Although not a cardmaker, I, like wendifful, add dimension to photos, diecuts, titles, etc with layers of (white) cardstock.

I will cut strips of paper from my used stash and fold them until it is a thick square. I use 2 pop dots on the bottom as I begin to hold it and 2 more at the end. I also use a bone as I go to smooth out the folds.
I like to do this as I can choose my thickness and I use up scrap pieces of paper.

I use fun foam quite a bit as well - especially for large panels or layers.
