Happy Sunday, croppers! Our March 2021 TO IMMUNITY AND BEYOND crop is less than two weeks away and it's time to start warming our crafty engines... Online crops are a lot of fun but they do require a little bit of prepping and planning, especially as many of us are still WFH and have to deal with more people staying at home these days. The good news is that we have plenty of time left to tackle the logistics and defeat the Huns everyday life's requirements to carve out some crafty community time!

Use this thread to flesh out any doubts and think your prep work through. And to generally just ease into the crop spirit! To help you get ready, prompts will be added to this discussion over the course of the next ten days. I would love to read what you all are doing to prepare for our merry, mad March weekend. 1. Focus on the HOW | Work life, school life, social life, most of it happens within the home these days. Better safe than sorry! To give yourself the opportunity to play along during the crop, start with your schedule during these special pandemic times. Try to figure out time slots during which you can sit down and craft during the crop weekend. Think about preparing a few meals ahead of time, stocking up on your spouse and kids' favourite snacks and warning your loved ones that you will be busy having some self-care time during the crop weekend. Communication and easy access to food are key! 2. Reflect upon the WHAT | Give yourself the next week to figure out what you'll be scrapping or crafting so you have enough time to print photos, order ink and start setting aside paper, embellishments, mixed media and tools you might need. Do you have a card goal you want to meet this year? Are you caught up on 2021? 2020? Have you been putting off an old album? Did you finish your December Daily? Pick one or multiple goals and start fleshing out a general plan.

This sounds awesome! I didn’t go to my Feb weekend crop this year and I’ve been trying to do a weekend crop at home, but it’s hard with everyone around!

I need to prep some pictures for the crop! I'm finally finished with 2018 (ha ha ha) so need to now review what I'm doing for 2019 and go from there! I do PL and have tons of bits and bobs so it will all be about the pictures. That's my main focus.
Also since I've decided to host some of the crops I'm committed and it will be fun!!

I spent some time last night going through all the in progress albums in my scrap space and writing a list of the pages needed to complete each of them. I included the page (double, single, or pocket) and photo types (no, size and orientation). I’m hoping this will make it easier to find photos to fit the sketch Saturday’s I’m still working through and make me more productive. My goal is to finish some of these, I have a couple that only need two layouts to be completed.

Love this so much!
Is this a crop that we need to be face to face online or is chatting in the thread good?
This has been one heck of a crappy year. I would love to try to participate that weekend. Here's hoping I have some pics delivered by then.

@lavendarlayoutlady, I believe it will be both virtual and chatting in the thread.
I'm going to plan pages to try to finish up the 28-4-28 challenges. I'm good at pulling photos and paper, but a title, journaling, embellishments I tend to do on the fly. I would like to have more of those things down beforehand so I can get more accomplished.

Hoping to have my puppy pic's printed and have my photos from January and February sorted with some product that goes with them. Now I have no time and am full of ideas: hope the ideas don't dry up when I have the time to create some pages!

This would be a good time to go through PL albums of the last few years and fill in journaling and layouts that didn’t get finished, so I can put them away once and for all. I’m always working on cards to use up my stash, and I have lots of family albums to fill in 12x12 layouts. There is never a shortage of things to do. At this point it’s a function of what has been unpacked and what is still in storage.

I'm trying to decide if I should just focus on my 2 years of "new" (ie printed) photos, or if I should start December Daily 2017. Probably the latter...it's really time to catch up! But I find it hard to commit to nothing but Christmas. And if I try to schedule "breaks" into the album, the breaks tends to get lengthy (like, an 18 month break last time).
I have to do a curbside pickup from my LSS before the crop - I've purchased a package of AC white cardstock (I'm down to 2 12x12 sheets) and 3 new colours of distress ink. But I'm also hoping that the Cocoa Vanilla I preordered will arrive so I'm waiting as long as I can before I make the trip.

Please let us know how this works. Thanks! It's either or both! Sleepingbooty will be providing the fun and the motivation for all of us here on the message board. So to participate would just be to add to the chatter and excitement on the threads here, cheer each other on, and take pics of your projects if you're able to share. The virtual crops are just for the added bonus of visiting with some Pea friends while we're working on Sleepingbooty's prompts and games.

I've been having a great weekend for prep, as I'm working through the last of my vacation photos that needed to be printed. I have 150 photos still to sort through, with the goal to reduce that down to 3 enough photos for three double page spreads. I usually send my holiday photos out to be printed and received an email today that prints are on sale for the next week which was just the kick in the pants I needed.

To anyone who's new to the 2PR crops like LavenderLayoutLady and Margie, a quick word of explanation and encouragement... As msliz kindly explained, the crop is the main event and unfolds in one simple way: the crop thread. You can just hop in, make yourself at home, chit-chat away and play along in any way you want. There'll be challenges, prompts and more fun stuff if you're in the mood for a bit of a push. If you just want to scrap and talk, that's completely ok as well. Nothing is mandatory, no pressure! This is about enjoying time together as a community and getting some crafty stuff done is an individual. msliz has organised a series of on-camera virtual crop hours during the To Immunity & Beyond weekend for those who like this format. Again, this isn't mandatory but a lovely bonus way to enjoy all the Pea community goodness. If you've been curious about crafting together on camera, this would be the ideal moment to test it out.

And on a random note, ever since I saw that gif I've had the song running through my head. In your (and my!) defense, it is an awesome song... I have 150 photos still to sort through, with the goal to reduce that down to 3 enough photos for three double page spreads. I usually send my holiday photos out to be printed and received an email today that prints are on sale for the next week which was just the kick in the pants I needed. Talk about perfect timing! Can't wait to see the pretty double-pagers you come up with. I have to do a curbside pickup from my LSS before the crop - I've purchased a package of AC white cardstock (I'm down to 2 12x12 sheets) and 3 new colours of distress ink. But I'm also hoping that the Cocoa Vanilla I preordered will arrive so I'm waiting as long as I can before I make the trip Oof, 2 pieces of white cardstock, now that's worrying... Hoping that your CV order comes in soon so you can have all your new pretties ready to be picked up together (and to play with for the crop). Back in the day when I could go to in person crops I would put together page kits. I'll do that for this. I might actually get something done Yes, kits are amazing! I'll be posting some more prompts later this week and there's a kit one so you're definitely on the right path. Preparing really does help with creative flow and productivity during crops. Great idea, gramma! This would be a good time to go through PL albums of the last few years and fill in journaling and layouts that didn’t get finished, so I can put them away once and for all. That satisfying feeling of finishing an album and having it "complete", love it. I hope the crop will help you reach that goal and that you're enjoying settling into your new townhouse life. You got this, oaksong (the PL albums and life)! Hoping to have my puppy pic's printed and have my photos from January and February sorted with some product that goes with them. Now I have no time and am full of ideas: hope the ideas don't dry up when I have the time to create some pages! Puppy pics, puppy pics, puppy pics! I can't wait to see ALL the puppy pics. I'm sure the cutness galore will keep your creative juices flowing, don't worry about it. It must be so much fun getting to choose supplies to document a new family member's life. I'm going to plan pages to try to finish up the 28-4-28 challenges. I'm good at pulling photos and paper, but a title, journaling, embellishments I tend to do on the fly. I would like to have more of those things down beforehand so I can get more accomplished. Ten more days to prepare, joyfulnana. You can do this! I love that you're using the crop to complete the 28-4-28 challenges. It will feel so good to fulfill that project, I'm sure. Sending you productive prep vibes! This has been one heck of a crappy year. I would love to try to participate that weekend. Here's hoping I have some pics delivered by then. Crossing my fingers and toes that your photos get delivered in time! We'd love to have you play along with us during the crop. I'm hoping 2021 is scrappy, not crappy. Let us know if there's any progress in your photo print delivery! I need to prep some pictures for the crop! I'm finally finished with 2018 (ha ha ha) so need to now review what I'm doing for 2019 and go from there! I do PL and have tons of bits and bobs so it will all be about the pictures. That's my main focus. Kudos to you for finishing 2018! PL is a beast of a project. It's always a positive when you finish a year, no matter how "behind" you are. It sure will feel weird doing 2019 AKA the last year before everything went topsy-turvy! Can't wait to see your first 2019 PL pages during the crop. This sounds awesome! I didn’t go to my Feb weekend crop this year and I’ve been trying to do a weekend crop at home, but it’s hard with everyone around! So glad we can provide a safe alternative to your usual February crop. It sure takes some planning and warning ahead of time to make sure people leave you alone during the weekend but you can do it! Really happy you'll be joining us, schroema. Maybe I’ll finally get my butt in gear and do Dec 2020 pocket pages Yes, hop2, tackle those December pages! We'll be cheering you on (and basking in your holidays atmosphere).

Answering my own first two prompts (finally). Even the hostess needs preparing + collecting her thoughts before heading into the crop...
1. HOW | My SO is picking up cooking duty solo for the crop weekend. He's excited about the return of asparagus season and has a couple of recipes he wants to try. It'll be the perfect occasion. I've placed a sneaky, secret order for him so he can have a fun weekend as well: a bottle of one of his favourite scotches, some fancy crisps and a fresh jar of Kalamata olives. I'm going to focus on trying to figure out a system to lay out and quickly put away my small stash so I don't turn the weekend into an unexpected game of Twister for my SO. Living in a 1 bedroom apartment, I just need to be better about how I deal with the scrap stuff so I don't take over the living room.
2. WHAT | I'll be focusing on one project and one only during the crop: catching up on my 2021 memory planner. I have two full months that need researching so I get it all right: looking up pandemic news + politics, finding photos to illustrate those events, going back in my music library and Netflix history to figure out what I enjoyed over the past couple of months, etc. I love my chunky planners with every tidbit of information relevant to my life and I have a brand new Happy Planner waiting to be filled. I have about ten days to get all the journaling typed out for January, February and early March. Oof, I'm going to be busy!

Whew! I spent last night sorting all the pics I have from a vacation we took in 2015. I have been putting off scrapping this for a bunch of reasons, one of them being DH did not have a great time. I finally sat down and talked to him about it and he agreed that he had not been in a good place when we took that trip and he said it was no reflection on me or on where we went ect. He then told me some of the stuff he did actually enjoy during the trip. It made me feel a lot better and I am going to scrap these photos! Now I just need to pick the albums for them. I have some old CM shorties (before they went to true 12x12) and I am hankering to use them up. So perhaps I will just use those, even though they are not really vacation type albums. One is lavender lol. For the weekend, I just wish I could go somewhere else to crop. 2022 might have to be the year of the crop! All the crops!

Thanks for all your answers, pea friends!😁
HOW: My scrap space is now a shared space. I'll need to see if I can call dibs to use it during part of the crop weekend. I also hope that I'm off that weekend. Might just join in some of the days.
WHAT: Ain't that the question?! Well, I've already decided that even if I don't have my pics (second shipment of pics that didn't get delivered the first time they were ordered are estimated to be delivered on March 17th.), I will work with pics I already have. The memorial page of my brother has been in progress for two years. I think I need to pull up the pics and start again. The papers just aren't working at all. I might be ready to type out the journaling too. When he first passed away, I wrote down every thing I could think of. Also wrote down when his friends visited soon after, and told us stories about him that I didn't know.
I also might stage & take some St. Patrick's Day pics, have them printed at one hour photo in Walgreens, and scrap those.

One week to go, croppers! Two more prompts to get ready in time for next week: 3. KIT it up! | Time to start playing around with the products... Use your spare time this weekend to dive into your stash and pull out a crop kit or a series of cardmaking/page kits. If you've prepared photos to scrap, you should have a good idea of which colours, patterns, sentiments and mixed media would work well. If you haven't decided on photos for the crop, let the products that catch your eye guide you for your decision-making. This is the fun part of the prep work so enjoy yourself while you come up with the "perfect pile" of products to use. Don't forget about your stamp sets in the process! 4. Make that LIST | With officially less than 7 days to go, it's time to fill in the gaps. As you make kits for your photos or other projects, keep a running list of what's missing so you can find those items in your stash or purchase them in time. Also think of making a list of the items that will keep you and your family happy during your crop weekend, especially if you're the main caretaker they rely on. Don't forget to pick up some snacks (and perhaps a bottle of wine?) for yourself. Our March stay-at-home crop is meant to be a happy, fun, everything-at-your-fingertips escape!

Yes! I need to work on my kits and I need to include SKETCHES. Must find sketches. Remember the sketches. (talking to myself out loud) Hoping that people who find sketches will share them here or during the weekend, so we can all be inspired by them. I will try to get my Sketchy Saturday challenge and sample up early for that weekend too. The pups have gone home to their family, so I will have time. Printing of my puppy photos did not go well yesterday, but I do have tons of birthday pics to scrap, and a tub of birthday scrappy supplies, so that might be my theme for that weekend. And I live by lists. Need to update my list of the sets of pics I have &/or the pages I want to create with them/ stories I want to tell. I shouldn’t be a problem with supplies. Since I came off my freeze last month, I have been buying like a drunk who just fell off the wagon into a vat of whiskey...

3. KIT IT UP: I'm grabbing supplies that I want to use, then finding ideas to use them on Pinterest. I have plans for those Thickers.
4. MAKE THAT LIST: I live by lists. Have them taped to my wall. Written on notepads. Scribbled in spiral notebooks. I have a list of the stories I need to start to tell.
