on Scrapbook.com.
I remember a few people mentioning wanting to get a hold of one.
They are on sale.

Does anyone use it in their Gemini Jr?

I'm willing to be enabled...why do I need one? You use it in place of one of the plastic mats that gets cuts in it and warps. I just ordered one, so I can't speak from experience yet.

Thanks! Hmm...so does it help ensure the more intricate dies are cut without additional shims? That may be worth it if that's the case. I'll be interested to hear reviews!

I ordered it yesterday along with some other things I've had in my cart for awhile. I'm hoping it will be as good as they say it is. My order shipped the same day I ordered it so I should be getting it by Friday. I wish all online retailers were as quick to fulfill and ship as scrapbook.com!

Does anyone use it in their Gemini Jr? I’ve tried it in my Gemini. (Not jr but that shouldn’t matter) I can’t figure out the right sandwich. I did what their video suggested with cutting mat, magic mat, and cutting mat. It went through just fine but the pressure was intense. The die cut where it was supposed to but also cut along the outside edge too. I’m hoping to figure out how to make it work. Love the concept but I’m still puzzled.

I'll probably try it in my Big Shot before I use my electric machines.

I use it in my Gemini Jr in that same sandwich, but instead of using the gemini plates, I used sizzix plates that I have from my big shot. They're a little bit thinner than gemini plates so it didn't have quite as much pressure. Spellbinders plates worked well too.

I love the magnet shim on the gemini! I have Spellbinders plates. I’ll need to try that. Thank you for sharing that info!

I use an extended length one in my Big Shot. It's working well and I like the surface. It's more convenient than me cutting down a self healing cutting mat to the right size. I used to use some small Olfa mats until they got ruined from overuse. I use my die cutter quite a lot and it's getting lots of cuts in the surface (as you would expect). The other day I tried to use it for some weird thing where I flipped it to be the top plate and it got a bit warped, but still usable, especially because I got the extended size. But over time the layers will cut through and come apart like my Olfa ones did.
It has some texture so things don't slip around so much as I'm getting everything in place. Some intricate pieces get stuck to it after cutting though, like the tiny cut outs inside doily dies - I need to find a brush that I can use to clean the mat quickly before the next pass.
If anyone wants to see I can post photos of what it will look like after using it for several months/however long it's been out. I got one when they were first released and marked down.

I have been watching a few videos on it and everyone is having to use shims and it warps. No matter if it is on the bottom or top.

I'm willing to be enabled...why do I need one? You don't. It's an overpriced self-healing cutting mat. Buy one of those for a fraction of the cost and cut yourself 2-4 smaller mats sized to fit your machine. Expect to do a lot of fiddling to get the thickness just right. Personally I like cutting boards even more.

Try baking it in the oven. I want to say 250 for five minutes? Experiment with the ruined mat first! Years ago I did this with my Epic mats. Those things were horrible and I could get fewer than 20 cuts before I’d have to bake them. I had four mats and would line them up on the baking tray. I’d flip them onto my (stone) counter to cool perfectly flat. I did finally give up and go to a Big Shot and never looked back.

I bought one, but I haven't tried it yet. I did try a self-healing mat in my Gemini last year, and it warped so badly that I had to throw it away. I won't be repeating that in the Gemini, but I thought I'd give the Magic Mat a try in my Big Shot.

I'm on the fence about getting one. I think I'd get the bigger sized one though if I decide to buy. I'm happy to see the reviews from ya'll as that's helpful in decision making.

My self healing mats (that I DIY'd) really warped in my Gemini and I didn't get great cuts. From what I've heard all self-healing mats do that in the Gemini - it's really strong! Something more rigid like a cutting board might work out better? It'll still warp though.

I watched a video where the YouTuber took three pieces of the Gemini sandwich and taped them all together to keep them from warping so quickly. I need to try that. I'll still use the magic mat for as long as it lasts.

Both warp around the 20th cut/pass through the gemini.

Does the job even if it looks ugly going in.

I ordered one and received a separate email with information on how to use it. It does say it is compatible with the Gemini and Gemini JR. Tips for using Magic Mat with aforementioned compatible machines: When replacing (1) cutting plate, use your Magic Mat in place of the cutting plate that your thin metal dies cut into (blade side cuts into the Magic Mat) and send through your die cutting machine
The Magic Mat can be used facing up or down and should be flipped and rotated regularly to extend the use.
Ensure you're using the right sandwich set up for running through your die cutting machine.
If your cuts aren't deep enough, try adding paper or cardstock shims until you have the perfect cut.
If your die cutting machine has had many years of usage (and love!)....you may need to shim with paper/cardstock... each machine is a little different. Even the same models of machines can vary depending on how they were manufactured or from wear and tear.

I've been using the Magic Mat in my Big Shot this week. I'm pretty happy with the results. It does get a little warped, but not much. I have to use a chipboard shim with some dies, but not with all of them. It is getting cut into, which I did expect. I'm just not sure it will "heal." So far I think it's worth the $9.99 I paid for it. I'm hoping it lasts a long time.

Mine was looking pretty messy with lots of little cuts and fine shreds of paper stuck in the cuts so I just gave it a good scrub with a stiff brush under running water and it looks a lot better. I'm not sure if that helps it "heal" as such, but it's definitely easy/worthwhile maintenance every few months, especially if you cut things with tiny bits like doilies.
