I started with the torn photo on the left. I paid to have it restored which was difficult I'm sure. The second photo is the restored photo. I feel like the lower arm and hand look unnatural. I was able to provide a photo of the type of guitar it was. I ended up cropping the hand, but I lost a lot of the guitar. Does it look better cropped or not? Do I gain much by including more of the guitar, enough to accept the look of the arm and hand?  |

If it was my photo and the guitar wasn't some important memory, Id cut the guitar and save the hand. I agree with you. The hand looks weird.

I prefer it cropped.
ETA: Even with it cropped it's still very readable as a guitar. I like it!

I think the cropped version looks great! You can still tell he is playing guitar and the crop brings more focus to the face.

I agree the arm and hand don't look right.
I wonder what story you want to scrap. Is it uncle Bob playing the guitar? In which case I think the cropped version is fine. But if its uncle Bob in front of his house the I would try a square photo to include abit more of the background whilst still cutting off the dodgy arm.

The cropped one is definitely better. Sometimes it’s just impossible to fully restore some complicated parts and make them look alright. The hand does look unnatural, but it’s still a more or less good job. It could be worse. However, again, the cropped version is fine, can it’s still pretty much evident there’s a guitar in the picture. I would try to remove the guitar to preserve the hand and make it look not that bad, but it would be an entire project and would probably take too much time. You can try to do that on imgcleaner.com, though. this tool is usually pretty good at removing a certain object from a picture. |

I wonder what program was used. I think it is pretty remarkable what was done, but it also looked like someone got tired of messing with it. If the bridge had been done better the middle pic would the best. It also looks like the editor cropped it a bit too, and maybe shouldn't have.
I hope no one takes offence to my critique. I certainly couldn't have done as good a job.
To answer your question photo 3 best.
