Being kidnapped? And it wakes you up? And you roll over to check on your dog? And she looks so precious that you have to give her some kisses? And then you have to rub her belly? And she just barely wakes up and stares at you with those little half open eyes and you know that if she were a cat, she’d be purring... and then she gives you a few little puppy kisses? And all is right with the world? And you could stay like this forever? And then, those puppy kisses turn into full on, wet, sloppy kisses. And then, said precious puppy is attacking your hand. And then she is on top of you assaulting your face with more kisses. And you roll over and tell her to go back to sleep. But she jumps off the bed and you know she has to go pee now. So you throw on a robe and sneak outside for a quick pee (the dog, not me). And on the way back to bed, she stops to finish off yesterday’s food. And then she find her brand new Bark Box toys?
and THIS, friends, is why I’m wide awake at 4:00 in the morning.

Yeah. I have had nightmares similar to that where I dreamed a previous dog was caught up in a flood, another one where I dreamed he was stuck in a burning house. And a couple nights ago I dreamed my kid got stranded somewhere outside in the cold and couldn’t be found. Good times, good times. NOT. I hate dreams like that because then I can never get back to sleep because I’m so freaked out.

i feel sorry for anyone who steals my smaller dog. little do they know that he is the neediest, most clingy, noise sensitive senior dog on earth. he also needs his food warmed for 20-25 seconds and stirred until all the kibbles are coated with the wet food. he also needs an emotional support human (no, not the other way around) who will rub his belly and tell him stories until he falls asleep. finally, he needs to wear his nightshirt and be tucked in every night before bed. my nightmare of my dog getting stolen would actually be the thief's nightmare over the dog he stole.
