Edited to add, I bought it! grammadee , I need to channel some of your energy from all your amazing grandson pages, as I got the kit to scrap my son's grad pics, as 2021 will be his grad year. Also, I am obsessed with all things hexagon, so these stamps will fit in perfectly with all my bee stuff once 2021 is done. Thanks all! (Including AussieMeg for being the voice of reason, lol) Now off to do another 50 pages until I buy something again. Maybe the label maker next time... I am nearing the end of my 50 page challenge and I remembered that I really really liked the January Not Just for Boys kit. I went back to look and it's in stock, 35.00. Shipping to me is 9.95. I did reach out to them to verify shipping as that seemed high, and they verified it was correct. Trying to determine if it is "worth it". I do like all the stuff that comes with it and those hexagon stamps, I just LOVE them. If you got this kit, as they as nice as in the photo? Does the 2021 stamp well? I love all the navy...but at almost 50 bucks, I better be head over heels with this stuff. Tell me what you think! notjustforboyskitclub.com/collections/renewed-january-2021-premium-kit-add-ons/products/renewed-premium-kit-january-2021

I like the contents of this kit, but for the price I'd rather spend it at ACOT on things I pick out on my own. I order mostly pre-orders, so it's the new stuff, I don't have to worry about stuff being sold out, and it's at a 20% discount.
But if I had to get a kit, it would be either Not Just For Boys or Hip Kit.

Get it! You deserve it! It's only a dollar a day for each day you didn't buy anything.

Random and not related to your post, but the more I see the name of the kit club, the more annoyed I am with it.
Like...most kit clubs cater towards the feminine and they came around to cater to not necessarily feminine colors and yet...'not just for' indicates that they're really NOT catering to those of us that wanted something for the boys after all, are they? The name is basically: it's for girls, but we're using stereotypical boy colors. Which means there still isn't a kit out there specifically geared towards boys.

I watch a YouTuber who uses the kit for her son/dogs all of the time. Maybe go on YouTube and enter the club name and see if you can find inspiration.
I have always thought the kits were masculine centered, but they could also work for that no so frilly layout you want for your other pictures too. I grew up a tomboy so I think the papers would have been perfect for me too.
It is the only kit online right now I would be interested in buying.
Welcome to {Not} Just for Boys...scrapbooking beyond hearts and flowers!
{Not} Just for Boys Kit Club is brought to you by 2 scrappy friends in Arizona. As seasoned scrapbookers, and moms of boys ranging in age from 5-13, we know the need for masculine papercrafting supplies is real, especially for older boys and men! Our goal is to carefully choose products from various manufacturers and lines, that when melded together, will create a cohesive kit with a masculine vibe. We want to offer you kits each month filled with products that will work perfectly for papercrafting about the men and boys in your life. But {Not} Just for Boys is NOT just for boys!!! We know that sometimes even layouts about the girls and women in our lives aren't all hearts and flowers, so we strive to make our kits versatile for everyone.

If you look at the kits, they tend to be more masculine colors. Sorry, can’t think of a better word to describe them. There’s a lot less pink than other kit clubs. And there are not many flowery type papers either. The kits work really well for boys but could also be used for girls. OP- I bought a few of their kits and really enjoy them. The embellishments are really fun, too. You could put together your own kit, but a lot of the embellishments are exclusive to the club. Maybe you could buy a 2nd kit or a la carte stuff to justify the shipping? 12 x 12 paper, unfortunately, is just expensive to ship.

The kit club is geared for boys, but not JUST boys. Sure, girls can be scrapped using their papers, but also pets, families, random daily activities, hobbies, traveling, anything. Not JUST boys.

I read it as it’s geared for boys, but they want to be inclusive, unlike every other kit/collection out there that is overflowing in pink and flowers and geared specifically toward girls. But yeah, it’s tough being a boy momma in the scrapbooking world. And before people chime in that I “can use pink and flowers on a boy page” yes I know that, but I don’t like to. And I don’t like to use them on my pages either. 🙄

My 6yo whom I spent an obscene amount of time shopping for to get enough clothes for her as a baby in anything other than pink as an infant would stare at girls in the park who were wearing an abundance of pink and it is her favorite color now...I accept it and include a tiny bit more pink than I would otherwise (and cringe inside buying her pink toys and clothing because it's not my place to keep her from loving what she loves), but it's still not a color I like...so yeah...just because you can, doesn't mean you want to based on your own personal preferences, lol.

I'm so out of the loop when it comes to paper products. Is that a normal price for a kit? Normally I am on Team Enable, but $45 including shipping? Wow that's a lot of money to spend!
But then again, my opinion is probably coloured by the fact that digital supplies are so much cheaper, and I can't help comparing..... Every kit I buy contains a similar amount of items, and only costs me $7 or $8 ($3.50 - $4 on half price days). I just bought a bundle that contains 12 papers, 61 elements (embellishments), 10 journal cards, and 5 enamel alphabets - all for $6. And I can use them over and over again.
I think if you have to ask, you're not really head over heels.

I think if you have to ask, you're not really head over heels. Ok ladies, it's time for a scrapoff! AussieMeg, you are right, 50 dollars is a lot of money. Any the LAST thing I need is any more paper, even the pretty pretty paper it comes with. What I really want are those PLS little navy letters and the hexagon stamps! I did look at ACOT and they don't look like they carry Pretty Little Studio...anyway, still on the fence.

@kendramage, I agree that is a lot to pay for a stamp set and some stickers, if you are not going to use the paper. (But the papers in those kits are scrumptious !) I couldn't get a really close look at those stamps. What is inside the hexagons?

As 950nancy mentioned, She’s Crafty is a design team member and she does unboxing videos and thoroughly goes over everything in the kit. That’s a good place to start. I thought it contained a lot of product. I’ve purchased 3 and still have lots to use. I stopped because I just wasn’t liking the paper, I had a hard time making it work together. So I felt it was better to purchase from an online store and make my own selection.

I scrap mostly boys, and I don't want to use "stereotypical" boy colors anymore than I want to use only pink for girls. I don't want anything stereotypical. I'm at the point where I can't stand, say Echo Park, and how its the same tired "stereotypical" everything. "Not just for" makes this a great all around kit club.

What is inside the hexagons? They are mostly just graphics, but one of the stamps says 2021 in cursive. I just love the look of it, but I'd like to see it stamped.

I tend to be drawn to paper packs (not pads) that are stereotypical because the colors go so well together. I use the B sides a lot. Lots of these clubs that put papers together that aren't in the same line make me question how some people put them together. I am generally not a fan of cream and white together when creating a layout. I do tend to like a lot of the extras that NJFB puts in their kits like the stars and phrases, but sometimes the paper combos are just too off.

craftymom101, can I ask your opinion on how the stamps "stamp" with the "twenty 21" being inset to the stamp? I think if I could know that, it would swing me to the dark side, lol. I did look at all the LO done with these, but did not see anyone use that particular stamp. Thanks!

I think I am justifying it by knowing I will use it all, and I am thrilled about the navy color shine. I wanted that badly. Since I haven't shopped barely at all since January, I am thinking of it more in terms of 3 months of shopping in one. As 950nancy mentioned, She’s Crafty is a design team member and she does unboxing videos and thoroughly goes over everything in the kit. That’s a good place to start. I really like the kits and try to buy one each month because 1) I like them and 2) I want to support a kit club that still does 12x12 and has more masculine papers.
When they first started, though, they had a premium kit and 3 themed kits every month. I think the last time they only had one premium kit and one theme kit, so I buy a lot less because sometime the theme doesn't work for me.
I bought the premium one and the baby one last month and have already scrapped a layout with each. The baby kit was so out of my comfort area- not stuff I would pick out for myself. I did like the challenge though, to make it work with my kind of scrapping. The green color is really nice for gender neutral baby pages. What I didn't like was that the bows were so thick. I'm a lumpy scrapper but not that lumpy. I was disappointed- I really liked the colors and fabric. I wasn't a fan of the bears, either- I'll probably give them to someone else.
The premium kits are really nice- I like the exclusive embellishments. I also buy a lot of ala carte stuff- they have a lot of neat items.
I really love NJFB, I just wish they had more items to buy- evidently I'm dying to give them more of my money.

@kendramage I am SO glad you ending up buying it. I was ran a few errands today and spent too much money on stuff (needed, but too much) and I thought about you and the joy you'd get from that kit and wanted to say that I have changed my mind. I am glad you got it Cannot wait to see what comes of it!

Ok ladies, it's time for a scrapoff! Hahaha, that made me laugh! I'm actually glad you bought it, because if you hadn't, you'd regret it I had a similar experience two weeks ago, on half price Wednesday. I had a kit sitting in my cart, but wasn't 100% sure about it. Then when I decided to buy it, it had gone back up to full price. I was so annoyed with myself! Oh, and I LOVE those hexagon stamps!

I think the stamp is definitely legible. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock.
