April Photo Challenge: Thirty Photos in Thirty Days
The theme is: Celebrating Differently! Maybe Covid has changed completely the way you and your family celebrate holidays and birthdays and milestones and special occasions. Maybe Covid changed everything for last year, but this year you are changing right back to the way you used to celebrate, and can hardly wait.
Please share here those photos that show some kind of celebration AND/OR some kind of change…

My photos: 1. Celebrate the season: spring or fall - There is nothing to celebrate here, because we're moving ever closer to winter (BOO!), so instead I am celebrating the last of the hot swimming days 5 weeks into autumn! 
2. Celebrate Easter or Passover - Easter cake that my stepmum made for our Easter brunch
3. A tisket, a tasket: a basket or container - My son and nephew with their Easter "baskets" (gift bags)
4. April Showers: any water - (1) Me and my dog at the lake (2) Going for a swim at the river   
5. Chicks or bunnies: a BABY (person or animal) or anything NEW - Chicks? Oh, I thought you said chooks!
6. Play BALL: anything round - Football match, the arena is round
7. Sugar high: anything sweet - DD made a delicious Caramilk slice 8. Turning over a new leaf: green or yellow or orange or brown - We took my stepmum's grandson to his first football match, and he was excited to wear Poppy's scarf and hat in the team colours of brown and yellow.
9. Stepping stones - my dog likes to walk along the stepping stones / rocks at the edge of the lake and snap at the water 10. A Transition - Some of my colleagues are transitioning back into the office. This was the first time I'd been into our (temporary) office in 13 months.
11. Celebrate Success! - The Powerball jackpot was $80 million on Thursday, and we won! Sadly it was only $29. 
12. You are my SUNSHINE! - I love how the sun turned out in this photo I took of my dog having a paddle in the lake
13. Celebrate GROWTH - This is the first year I have had lemons and limes on my trees. Only because my dad came over and gave them some love and attention. 
14. Going OUT (out of your house, out of your way, out of your comfort zone) - Out for dinner
15. Masked Marvels (someone masked, or something hidden) - First time I've had to wear a mask in a while (we only have to wear them on public transport and hospitals / care facilities)
16. Celebrate an Accomplishment - DS finally got a part time job, and this is his first pay packet 17. Educate me (any learning experience) - DS went to work with DSO during school holidays, and DSO taught him how to use some of the power tools. 18. BEE there (someone—two legged or four—who is always there for you) - (1) my dog likes to sit beside me in the office when I'm working (2) Seeing you said BEE, here is a photo of a bee I took yesterday.   19. The wind beneath my wings: something showing movement, or something with wings - A cockatoo showing off in the gum tree
20. You colour my world - The bracteanthas we planted earlier this year are growing nicely
21. Today’s favourites - I tried a new version of bao (Korean Fried Chicken Bao) and DD told me it's her favourite out of all the ones I've cooked.
22. Celebrate EARTH DAY (or anything about this orb we live on) - We had a guy come over to quote on getting solar panels on our roof, to cut down on our electricity usage.  23. Fashionista: What a Pea wears this season……. (Or a Pea's DD!) DD bought a new corduroy shirt the other day, and said to me "I feel like this is something you would have worn." And funnily enough, I had a shirt exactly like that back in the 90s, except it was green.  24. A new door opens - photo of our new (temporary) office building, even though we'll still be working from home (there is a revolving door in the photo!)
25. Boots or shoes - my winter "boots" now that I am working from home
 26. Reflecting back - DD bought a new hair curler. I was trying to do my own hair but it's really hard to do the back while looking at your reflection in the mirror and everything is backwards.
27. A dear one’s SMILE - My DD, camping at Easter 28. Wrapped in love - Our dog and his bestie wrapped up in a blanket together
29. LMAO. When you don’t want to cry…LAUGH. - My BFF and I went to a comedy show on Saturday night.

First is #1 celebrate the season: I have been decorating my mantle for the holidays. This is my spring mantle. I included a little duck that was my mom's as a baby and a lamb that was mine as a baby. Then #2 Celebrate Easter - my beautiful Easter flowers I brought back from my mom's and filled baskets for my family.   |

PHOTO PROMPTS: 1. Celebrate the season: spring or fall Daffodils!  2. Celebrate Easter or Passover An extremely understated Easter - online church and a small amount of goodies  3. A tisket, a tasket: a basket or container, A quick weekday picnic lunch at a nearby park  4. April Showers: any water This is a local bog area with a fascinating geological history  5. Chicks or bunnies: a BABY (person or animal) or anything NEW We've biked the Pine Creek Trail a lot but we never parked at this trailhead before  6. Play BALL: anything round. The cat was sleeping in a perfect circle.  7. Sugar high: anything sweet Daughter has a very sweet iced chai latte. The cafe run by people with disabilities is next to the plastic recycling center, so we got a yummy treat, supported our friends, recycled plastic and walked 4 miles.  8. Turning over a new leaf: green or yellow or orange or brown My daughter and I walked all the way to the school where I used to work to see the spring blossoms and NO BLOSSOMS.  9. Stepping stones One of our hobbies is to paint and leave painted rocks. We love finding them too.  10. A Transition The lovely sound of water as it transitions from a higher level to a lower one  11. Celebrate Success! I did it! I cut vinyl on the Cricut and decorated salt and pepper shakers. Success!  12. You are my SUNSHINE! My  sunshine eating ice cream in the sunshine 13. Celebrate GROWTH You probably meant personal growth, but I find these carnivorous pitcher plants so fascinating. Their soil is so nutrient poor, so they capture insects to supplement their diet.  14. Celebrate an Accomplishment 17. Educate me (any learning experience) The husband's latest hobby is lighting a fire with a polished can and the right chunk of wood.  18. Today is my DS1's 30th birthday, and I think photos taken today work for #13 Celebrate Growth because 30 is a milestone birthday leaving his 20s. It could have worked for a Transition as well, but I had to choose one of the prompts. .  I love the next photo of DS1 and Dgd walking toward the British redoubt at Yorktown Battlefield, and I immediately thought of #30 Walking Away. I love that it is #30 because my son is walking away from his 20s to 30.  |

But with zero active cases here for the last who knows how long, they are allowing spectators into the football this year. The first week it was capped at 50% capacity (which is 50,000 people for this particular sports stadium) and then for the next two weeks they put it up to 75% capacity (although there were *only* 50,000 people at the match I went to). |

#19 the wind beneath my wings. This Easter photo is a favorite. I love her movement, moving with such perseverance toward the next egg! The next one because I am a one trick pony, same event. #24 a new door opens. It's a door she is learning to open! #22 celebrate earth day. I love the way she finds beauty in a yard of flowering weeds. We have decided to stop fighting a battle against them and let the yard be more natural.    |

How do you insert your photos like that? On tapa talk I can't edit a post. I'm working on a PC and not using Tapatalk, so it's a lot easier. I wouldn't be able to do it if I was on my phone. |

Today my contributions are for #14 Going out - Dh and I are headed out to celebrate 33 years of marriage tomorrow. Also number 27 a dear ones smile. I put dgd in the tub and she amused herself with 2 cups and a bottle. Her smile is pure joy.   |

#11 celebrate success. I am participating in a CM challenge to fill in a number for each completed layout. Each 3 months completed I win a paper pack. I got my second paper pack today. I am almost done with August. When I complete Sept I get a 3rd paper pack in July.  |

As the month slips away I'm still plugging away on this challenge. Of course as a one trick pony, photos are selected from my frequent photos of DGD. Here is # 6 play ball/round, #9 stepping stones, #8 new leaf, #18 bee there, and #28 wrapped in love. The photos are DGD at a local playground tunnel, stepping stones are DGD and a friend sitting on the stepping blocks at the park, new leaf is DGD moving leaves to uncover wild strawberries, bee there is DGD and DS1 cuddling, and wrapped in love, DGD wrapped up in a blanket snuggling with Elmo.      |
