Welcome to the back to the 2021 Organized 2PeasRefugees scrap challenge. It does not matter where you are in your journey of organizing you are welcome to join us and do a little or do a lot! Find a system that works for you and your space. How do you scrap and shop your supplies? Is your space tiny or a whole room? Do you live where there special considerations such as flooding or dust? There is not one way that is better than another, just what is best for your style and needs!
This challenge is to encourage you to work towards a more organized crafting life, so that you can find what you purchased when you want to use it! My best rule of thumb is that it should not take more than three moves to get to what you want to use on your project.
If you are on a team for the team challenges you can claim 10 points for each hour spent. The time does not need to be consecutive. Bonus of 1 point for each before and after photo. The following tasks will count towards the crafting organization: • Cleaning up after your latest crafting session (ie desk before, desk after) • Scrubbing or vacuuming the floor in your space. Dusting your space (I live in the desert next to a dirt road and own four German Shepherds so this is a regular event ) • Organizing a supply or completely re-doing your entire space. • Sorting, editing, backing up, or ordering photos. • Setting up page kits for photos or organizing the ones that you get as a monthly subscription with photos. • Essentially anything that is related to crafting that needs to be done to “spark joy”! (I’m not necessary a huge Marie Kondo fan . . . but she does have some good ideas!)
20 points per hour for both bonus challenges. The BONUS CHALLENGE for the month is to organize your alphas. For me this includes Thickers, Stickers (yes I still have a binder full), dies for alphas, and fonts that I’ve purchased, are on my Scan-n-Cut, or my computer that work will for e-die cut titles. My goal is to scan in my stamps that are alphas and have a mini-notebook ready, like the two shown for my other fonts. I also have a few alphas in my embellishment box that I should remember to use, thus they need to be included in some way in my cataloging!
The NSBR BONUS CHALLENGE for the month is to go through all your plastic/glass food storage containers. Make sure that everything has a lid, is in good condition, and that you can remember using it in the last year. I actually switched over to mostly glass about 2 years ago for things that are re-heated, but still have the plastic version as well. Have fun and earn a few points!

Good challenge! My alphas are a mess lol. I switched to glass for reheating about 10 years ago. I still had some plastic hanging around that I got rid of in January. Dang, I should not have been so quick to do that! I could have had the points lol.

I had gone through my alpha stickers in the moving process but I love the idea of cataloguing the computer fonts (and the QK fonts although I don't have many of those) The NSBR BONUS CHALLENGE for the month is to go through all your plastic/glass food storage containers. Something else I did during the move including switching to glass except for a couple of large plastic that I use for Christmas cookies etc... My challenge is getting people to put them away properly

I spent about an hour tidying up all my piles and half-started projects (need a solution for how to keep those tidied up but also ready to go, a project for another time) and then I did a bit more cart rearranging, moving the 12" paper storage to the bottom level and flipping the middle level to create a makeshift shelf where I can slide my trimmer and heat tools. That gives me more clearance to get the paper out and FINALLY a place to put my trimmer right next to my desk when I need my space back. I had been propping it on the floor but that's messy and not very functional. The bottom shelf mostly held things I hardly ever use and I found a spot to stash them in a drawer. I think this set up is the most ideal configuration for what I own and use right now, and it looks pretty neat and tidy, which is important because my space is visible from almost every part of the house. Now onto figuring out a better waste paper bin and that WIP box (mostly where I can stash it so that's it's accessible and tidy). http://instagram.com/p/CNfZGjrpBFz

three hours of cleaning and organising the craft room
three hours of ordering photos/scanning layouts/organising photos
one hour of going through a laundry basket of picture frames - removing most of the pictures, adding frames to the donation bin, and finding spots for the ones I'm keeping.

So I actually sat down and got my goal completed! I ended up just photocopying each set, then putting them in another binder. The larger ones I reduced down to 60%.

That's awesome! Well done. I don't have too many alphas so my minimal organisation works - QK in the binders and stickers (including thickers) in a clear envelope.

So I actually sat down and got my goal completed! I ended up just photocopying each set, then putting them in another binder. The larger ones I reduced down to 60%. Glad you achieved your goal! Love those binders. It's nice to have things fresh and matching (and shiny!) When I moved my stamps up to the top basket of my cart I turned my storage bin around and that made space for a small box that I can use to section out my sentiment-only and alpha stamps. I don't have a lot but they're much easier to sort through and keep handy this way. At some point it would probably be smart to catalog all the sentiments that are part of my image stamps but if I keep my stash small I can get away with a lot less inventory management.
