April Challenges:
"PRODUCTS" P-1 I see you! Vellum or acetate or some other see-through or translucent element.
P-2get naked. Naked chipboard. Think reduced layers for spring.
P-3Garden Party! Use garden themed embellishments on your page or card - 1 point for each embellishment used. Bonus point if you do a layout about gardening or spending time in the garden.
P-4 Tag You're It: Use a tag on your project. One point per tag used.
P-5 Metal. Use metal embellishments: One point for each, it can be a two fold Fastener, or remember the Fastenator?, or metal rimmed tags, brads, eyelets, metal alphas. Double your points if you use up to four kinds of metal on your project.
P-6. Vicki Boutin celebration! Yes, I love me some Vicki B. And new ones are on their way, so I need encouragement to use my old. 1 point per TYPE of product on your page designed by her: eg. 1 point if you use her pps; 1 point if you use her thickers; 1 point if you use her mixed media; 1 point if you use her puffy stickers...
P-7. Allergy season - STICKER SNEEZE! Specifically FLAT stickers, no thickers/puffy stickers allowed

S/I-2 Quadrilateral: April is the 4th month, so use any 4 sided shape as a background element, or photo shape. Eg. square, rectangle, rhombus, trapezoid/trapezium, parallelogram, kite, diamond. One point for each different shape used.
S/I-3 April Showers - use water related shapes/icons - like wavy lines, wavy stamps, droplet shapes, umbrellas, rainbows, fish, bathing suits... 1 point per different shape/icon (eg. a wave border + 10 droplets = 2 points)
S/I-4. BLOOM - so excited that Winter is ending, even tho we have no flowers here yet, I'm putting them on my layouts! 1 point for every different form of flowers on your page. Like: floral pp; floral die cut; fussy cut flower; stamped flower; puffy sticker flower; sticker flower; chipboard flower; flower in your photos
S/I-5 Make it a star: Use star shapes on your layout, large or small. One point for each star.

COLOURS/MOODBOARDS"
C/M-1 Tone up!. Use one—or both-of this year’s Pantone colours (grey and yellow) One point for each colour on each page

TECHNIQUES"
T-1 Make a SPLASH! Use any mixed media to create a splatter look on your project for a point. TWO points if you use seasonal colours.
T-2 Emboss it. Wet or dry.
T-3 Spring-kles: Sprinkle something on your project eg. little beads, glitter, tiny stars, paint etc. 1 point for each different sprinkled embellishment.
T-4 Stamp on it! One point for each stamp used on a page or card or project.
T-5 Die cut or punch it out, can be hand-made or premade packaged die cuts. One point for each different die cut (but not including fonts, one point per font)
T-6 Torn Edges, 1 point each
T-7 Create Clusters - 1 point/cluster of 5 or more items
"WORDS/ Titles W/T-1 Circle Text: Write or type your journaling or title in a circle. It can either be inside a circle or around the outside of a circle.
W/T-2 Four words. Use exactly four words in your title.
W/T-3 Strip it on! Strips for journaling, use strips to journal your layouts.
W/T-4 Great GRAND titles - 1 point for 2 fonts, +1 point for every additional font/sticker type/stamp type. 1 point for 2 word titles, +1 point for every additional word in your title.
W/T-5 It's SPRING (sorry Australia, I can't not be happy to see our winter end) - so let's use our S Words - 3 points for a word in your title that starts with "S". 1 point for every 3 "S" words in your journaling. and 5 points if you use the word "Spring" (springy, springing) in your title.
"THEMES"
Th-1. Spring forward/ fall back. Do a page about the change of seasons, or your favourite season, or your thoughts on daylight savings
Th-2 Let's get outdoors! Photos from any season that feature being outdoors!
Th-3 Time to Play? Any form of play, children at play, playing a game, or playing a sport.
Th-4. Family time - what memories do you have of "family time"? Camping, hiking, bowling, golf??? A favorite board game? Dinner time?
Th-5. Hide Out - did you have a "me" space? Somewhere you would go for alone time (or to hide from your little brother)?
Th-6. Favorites - Did you have a favorite book, movie, song, celebrity as a young person? Do you have favorites today?
Th-7 Miscellany. Have a few photos you want to scrap together under the general theme of miscellaneous? As I am not a "one photo on a layout kinda gal" it's a way to get those sweet smiles on a layout.
Th-8 Plant it - it's the season to plant. Do a layout that features your garden no matter the size. From grammadee and her huge vegetable garden to my little pot of pansies. Let's see then.
Th-9 Birthday Blitz - we're heading into birthday "season" in our house, so I need to scrap previous years!
"NUMBERS/SIZES":
N/S-1 Four square. April is the 4th month. Earn one point for FOUR of anything on a project (4 photos, 4 butterflies,...) and earn one point for everything (including the overall shape of the page or card or other project) that is SQUARE.
N/S-2 Fill Up a Fourth: Divide your page into 4 equal shapes, and only scrap in one of those fourths. The page can be divided into 4 squares, 4 triangles, 4 strips (eg. 3x12" strips on a 12x12 page). If you don't like to have that much white space on your page, swap it around and fill 3/4 of the page, leaving only one fourth empty. N/S-3 Layer it on! For a card or layout that has exactly 4 layers earn 8 points. Otherwise one point for each layer.
N/S-4 Exactly four photos: for 4 points.
N/s-5 Use four patterns! for 4 points, double your points to 8 if there is NO solid cardstock on your project. If you stamp on solid cardstock to make it a pattern that will count as a pattern, not a solid. (Not sure if we can do this but it's supposed to be a challenge right?)
N/S-6 Make a 2 page layout, for a bonus of 5 points. We know how much harder 2 pagers are! For card makers - make a card that is tri-fold, or gate fold, or easel-type, or exploding box type...anything other than the standard single fold card. You also get a 5 point bonus, but only for 1 card if you are making multiples of a design.
N/S-7 Use at least 4 SCRAPS on your page (even if you've die cut something out of a scrap that counts as 1) for 4 points
"
RECIPES"
R - 1. A recipe for a NEW season: 10 points
1. New...clothes: mix your papers, use patterned paper from at least 2 different collections/lines
2. New...purchases: use something you've purchased in the past 6 months
3. New...VOs? That is, use Nuvo drops (or enamel drops are fine too)
4. New...s: News! Use a text print (patterned paper or stamp), OR use at least 3 text/word strips (not including journaling) on your page
5. New...baby: Use baby blue or baby pink on your layout
"
OTHER"
O-1. 100 day project continued.Take 5 points per day that you do your 100 day project activity (whatever that may be)
Add 1 point each day you share your work on the 100 day challenge thread or in the monthly sharing thread.
If you do your project every day this month, great job! Double your points.
O-2 Re-do Renew: Do you have any old pages that you don't like? Re-scrap it! 5 bonus points if you share the original page when you post the new page in the sharing thread.
O-3 No April Fools, no spend month: 10 points for each day you don't spend. (If you are a monthly club member that has already purchased the membership that won't count against you.) Save up for iNational Scrapbook day!
O-4 Lift a Pea - there has been so much great work posted that I have a whole list of layouts I want to duplicate. So - choose a pea layout and make it your own.
O-5 Praise the Peas! 1 point per comment on threads or in the gallery
1 point per package of stickers represented on a page.
