Happy April! Who's ready for a new SheetLoad? youtu.be/b49yJXDp0RcProcess video youtu.be/wFWUK8KAkLgApril shower bring.... You can collect extra 10 points if you use anything rain related embellishment, patterned paper or if you create raindrops with nuvo drops or with glossy accents. Examples: clouds, rainbow, rainboots...

I have some rain paper and umbrella die cuts on my table right now I'm a bit reluctant to make this Sheetload because it looks like it creates a lot of scraps, especially in the cardstock (and I already have so many white cs scraps!) Plus, I don't have the right kind of envelopes. It's a nice design though. I love the paper she used. I might just make a couple and then I can make my own envelopes for them. I have some friends' birthdays coming up.

I have made a couple of these this week. Yesterday I made it as per the measurements and sketch. Today I switched it up a bit and moved the block and sentiment to the left side. I made this size about 8 or 9 years ago for my Christmas cards as I found the envelope size at the dollar store and thought what a fun size! So ahead of my time Lol I have a few envelopes left over.

I haven't even started yet. I'm working on a big project, making cards for my SIL and friend ,as birthday gifts. joblackford I love the umbrella idea. I will have to make some envelopes too to fit them in. melanieg I hope you will share your creation, I'm intrested to see your alternative take on this sketch.

Basically I moved the smaller pc from the right side to the left and hung the sentiment strip off differently. I also added nuvo drop dots above the sentiment strip instead of the side like she did. Just a different balance

Crafty Al added a great alternative for using this month's design with 6x6 papers, just a slight tweak. It's a really efficient use of patterned paper and something I will definitely try out.

I didn't look at the extra video but I did get to use my 6x6 papers, yay! I used 8 papers which makes sense, since 2 12x12's is 8 6x6's. I also cut my white cardstock differently to have bigger chunks left over.

jjpeapea, I love your cards. That's a great use of your 6x6 papers. Maybe I will try using some of those to do my cards. I'm not really sold on the size yet. joblackford, thanks for posting that alternative video. I need to convince myself that I like this size. I'm beginning to like the slimline, so maybe I'll end up liking this size too.

It's so much easier for me to cut a letter sized sheet in half I don't even think of other sizes. I didn't look at the extra video but I did get to use my 6x6 papers, yay! Phew...busy month. I really wanted to make these cards, I even bought some envelopes to go with this size. After cutting the bases I ending up with lots of big scraps, joblackford you were worry about this , I started making some more bases out of it by cutting 1 piece to 6.25"×3.25" and another to 6.25"×3.75" and scored it at 3.25", buy gluing the 2 pieces together at the flap I ended up with a card base. I usually cut my cardstock differently than callmecraftyal does I'm trying to save as much of paper is possible. Here are my cards for this month http://instagram.com/p/COUJ5mFpYLI

Oh, good idea azcrafty . I might give that a go. I realized I could also make a specific plan to cut my scraps into banners/shapes or stamp and cut images *right away* to use up the big scraps and get ahead on future cards. I still need to experiment more with the size because I do like it. I had to make my own envelope for one that I wanted to send. I just folded a piece of letter sized paper around the card, I didn't even make any cuts - I didn't have time - and it worked well enough. I found guides for making your own and a couple of sources to buy them, but haven't gotten around to ordering any. Here's another idea for this size - make it a tri-fold card (is that the correct name?) I cut the cardstock around 9.75 x 6.25" and scored twice so there are two panels to stamp/decorate before opening to space for a message. Here are the two decorated panels: http://instagr.am/p/COVngm2pPdG
