We are going to Hawaii in November with my son and his family. If it actually happens —but it’s booked!

My dh and I have our 30th anniversary in July. We’ve held off making plans because I’m sure we would have gone to Europe if not for Covid. But we’ve been watching Men in Kilts and really want to go to Scotland. Thinking of pushing it back a month to travel there. We decided we won’t start planning until June so we don’t waste time planning should it not be a good idea.

We can’t wait to join our friends in our annual trip to Mammoth, CA. Obviously we skipped summer 2020, two out of the three ladies were pregnant and all of us were wary with the pandemic being so unknown at that point. We all hope to be fully vaccinated by late summer so we can get back to our usual trip with two new little ones in tow! It’s three couples who go every year, we stay in a cabin and go on hikes, off roading, fishing, and to the brewery. Really looking forward to it!

We are going at the end of April to (said in a whisper) a Texas Ranger game... they are playing the Red Sux...
We are going in October to the Excellence in Playa Mujeres Mexico...
We are renting a condo in Port Aransas for 4th of July...
As soon as 10ks n half marathons start then my dh will start signing up for those...
We are not avoiding crowds.. we are both vaccinated... we are some of "those stupid texans"!!

Springfield & St. Louis, MO!!
SO promised me a weekend/roadtrip for Valentine's last year before things got ugly. We were going to go to Springfield to Scrapbook Generation, and then a baseball game(we usually go to two or three a yr). None of that happened though because of circumstances & then Covid.
I'm gonna cash in as soon as I can get us some tickets to a Sunday afternoon game!

We are hoping to stay in-country and go to Manitoba in August, but I think it's iffy. Three of us are 16+ and should get first shots by June, but won't have 2nd doses by then, and my daughter will be 14 and unlikely to have any shots by then. Manitoba is currently closed unless you quarantine, and we won't be able to do that. So although it breaks my heart, summer might be a write off for us.
We think we'll all be vaccinated by the end of the year, and have 2 trips we're planning for December. Before Christmas, we are heading to Disney, a trip postponed from last year. And after Christmas, we're currently planning a trip to Egypt. If we wind up feeling like Egypt isn't a good choice at that time, we may do Galapagos instead.

2 weeks ago my mom and I rented an amazing Air B&B in the Smokey Mountains for 5 days. We were extremely socially distanced from everyone, stayed out of downtown Gatlinburg (which was INSANE due to Spring Break), and enjoyed the peace and quiet.
We have a trip to Disney scheduled in October. DH & I will be fully vaccinated at that point. Heck, he is already, and I am getting my 2nd on the 20th of this month.

It's funny you ask cuz I was thinking about this the past week. I even asked the kids for their opinion. Anyway, DH and DD want to go to an all-inclusive resort, probably in Mexico. (DD has never been but we've talked about it and she thinks it's great lol.) DS and I want to go to Australia. But that feels so far off. Good news: in the meantime we can save up so we're able to pay for everything in cash/pay off the credit card we use to buy our airfare. In the meantime, we're trying to figure out (domestic) travel to see my parents, who are fully vaccinated. I am too, and dh gets his second dose in less than two weeks. But...ugh. The kids aren't vaxxed and CAN'T be until it's approved for under 12 and I'm SUPER worried about going to my parents' state because MI seems to be (and I apologize for saying this) screwing everything up.

We've booked a trip to the Caribbean in July - we'll all be vaccinated. We also have quite a bit of long over due family visits planned.

We were supposed to go to Hawaii last summer, then it got bumped to January, and now it is bumped to August, but I'm not holding my breath it will happen. The flights and room are already prepaid, so at least there's that. We will get there eventually.
In June we are driving to the Grand Canyon. Taking a leisurely 3-day drive to there, staying a few nights at the rim, and driving back for three leisurely days.
We have a cruise booked in December, but I don't know if it will happen. I'm not holding my breath on it either.

Honestlyyyyy, I've been going back and forth with my brain on us going to Disneyland in the next couple months. I miss it, everything I see and most of the people I follow on ig are disney-fluencers so all I've been seeing for the past year is DW. We love not doing anything and just sitting around, I know I'll do the embarrassing cry once we get there, etc etc.
If we lived closer than a 7 hr drive I would've paid the ridiculous money for the small opening at CA Adventures for the mini food fest, but I don't think I can handle hotels yet.
We might do a little day trip to San Francisco or something but I don't see us having a real trip for a while still.

one of my favorite trips of all time was to the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. We flew into Anchorage then did road trip to Seward and Homer - absolutely spectacular hiking, food and scenery. If you can spare the time, I'd love any info you can share about that road trip portion. I have an extremely detailed itinerary if you are interested in it you can message me with your email and I’ll send it to you. At high level we: - flew into anchorage - drive to Seward which is along the Seward highway snd one of the most spectacular drives - stayed in a cabin in Seward and did wildlife cruise with dinner on an island - hiked the glacier, saw bears and eagles galore - drove to Copper Landing and fished in famous river, saw moose and did amazing hike to see salmon - drove to Homer where we had the most amazing dinner on a remote island in Halibut Cove accessible only by boat (called The Saltry if anyone wants to google it)

It doesn’t matter whether I would be comfortable traveling or not, we blew our vacation money for probably the next five years on our lake cabin when we rebuilt it and it went over budget. Thankfully it’s less than an hour away so we can go there pretty much whenever we want.
For us the bigger question is, when will we be comfortable having other people come and stay with us for the weekend? We have a beautiful brand new three bedroom place and haven’t been able to have any weekend guests. 😫

I just want to go to Washington DC and see my daughter's new apartment and spend some time with her. I'm fully vaccinated and she got her first shot today, so we're inching closer!

Aruba. We have something (refundable) booked for late October, so fingers crossed. We had to cancel our Aruba trip last June. Not sure when we will rebook for.
Canada.. definitely home to see my dad and sister. I am not afraid of travel, but can't go due to restrictions.

I'm traveling within six hours from home this weekend for a girls cabin trip - but that's just shopping and crafting.
Comfort wise I don't want to spend the money on something like Disney World (we'd have to travel from Michigan) until masks are no longer required - I don't want to wear one in the heat and have them in pictures (I haven't been in 20 years so it's not like we can go often).
I won't go on a plane until kids don't have to wear them because the chances of getting my two year old to keep one on without the stress of possibly getting kicked off is too much.
I would be comfortable around other people and being away from home but I'm waiting for restrictions to be lifted.

I took my boys to a waterpark resort at Wisconsin Dells last July. We are going to Colorado this July for vacation and my sister's wedding. I'm already thinking about next year because my stepmom said they have lots of points for us to use with their timeshare plan. I'd like to do something with our youngest son over Spring Break 2022 because (fingers crossed) our oldest son is scheduled to go to Germany/Switzerland/Austria on a school trip. I just don't know where to go.

Once I got my vaccine schedule and knew I would be fully vaccinated, I booked a trip to DC for next month to see DS and DSIL. I haven't seen them for over a year and a half so I've missed them horribly!

It isn't just feeling comfortable, it is availability. We will return to Hilton Head but it doesn't look like it will be until fall. The accommodations we prefer are sold out in late April and May. I think it would be difficult to get away for a full week this spring anyway so we will go somewhere closer to home for just a few nights.

This summer, we are only camping. We've scheduled a week at the beach and a week in the mountains (near Mammoth). I think I've gotten used to being in quite uncrowded places. I'm actually thinking of heading to Hawaii, but maybe to one of the lesser-traveled islands - perhaps during Christmas break. In two weeks time, i'll no longer have kids involved in school sports, so I'm no longer limited to certain vacation timeframes. That part is exciting and sad at the same time.

I was supposed to go to Croatia in early June. That's out the door, even though I am fully vaccinated, Europe is not. I have reservations for September in Switzerland and I am holding firm that that will happen.

We’re trying to plan Maui in September, but my husband isn’t sure he wants to go this year if we still need to wear masks. We don’t have a plan B yet.
