Scrapbook.com did a video about different ways to use these types of dies, I always think "why didn't I think of that" when I watch these because the ideas are pretty basic but great alternatives to using them on cards. scrapbook.com slimline die

pinklady - Oh that is PRETTY! I do love all the styles they are using with these current slim lines. I wish this wasn't with a club! You can sign up for this month and just cancel. There is no limit for how many month you have to sign up for and you can skip months when you don't like the dies. I wish for a happy in this style hopefully they will come out with one soon. azcrafty Well I hold you responsible...I caved and signed up for the club and just got my die this morning. 😁 It’s even more gorgeous in person. Now I just need to remember to cancel or skip.

I tried my first mini slimline card today and it was a nuisance! It’s a shame because it is really cute and a great use of 6x6 paper cut into 3x6” pieces (terrible use of cardstock though!) The reason it was a pain was because my trimmer is 6” wide with an extension arm and so the space between 6 and 6.5” is unmarked. I guess I could add my own 6.25” marking... and my envelope punch board doesn’t do a good job making an envelope the right size either. Sigh. Anyway, here’s the card I made. Very simple but it is very cute. April share by jo.blackford, on Flickr

With A2, wouldn't you need one of the biggest diecut machines if you have an A2 sized metal die? I think I like the slimline size for this reason. Plus we have a lot of business sized envelopes since we hardly ever mail anything anymore.

Plus we have a lot of business sized envelopes since we hardly ever mail anything anymore. For A2 card bases I just use my trimmer to cut letter sized cs in half, 2 card bases, no waste. For slimline and mini-slimline you only get 1 base from a sheet and a lot of waste/scrap. I have a normal big shot and find a couple of slimline dies I have (frame pieces for the front) only barely fit inside the length of normal cutting plates. My only slimline stamp is a little too big for my travel stamp platform though.

I love the cards people have created! As with scrapping I'm a fan of having a variety of sizes and orientations to choose from. I personally won't be buying any custom dies/stamps/papers most likely simply because I do not make cards. If I get back into making mini books though, maybe I will...

I made the cutest slimline yesterday for my 100 day project. It has flowers, 3 gnomes and a flamingo. Hangin with my Gnomies I mean, a garden/yard has them together, why not a card. Totally thought of grammadee when it was done.

I have only bought one stencil that is slimline sized, but want to invest in more. Or at least try to use my supplies and try it out. This size seems like it's here to stay - lots of companies seem to be offering dies, stencils, stamps in these longer sizes. I think they are especially good if you like creating scenes with little critters I love Pinkfresh Studio products right now and they offer a lot in this size. If anyone wants to try out that Spellbinders Thanks die -- I recently subscribed. I can send a few of the die cuts out -- it would motivate me to actually use it. Message me. I bought a big bag of floss when I took Alison Davis' online class intending to stitch, but never got around to it lol. They will come in handy for these new dies.
