Another guilty....He was the one who took the picture/video of Babbitt going into the Speakers Lobby, when she was shot. (CNN)A Capitol rioter who captured Ashli Babbitt's death on video became the 20th person to plead guilty for his involvement in the deadly January 6 insurrection. The charge has a potential maximum of six months in jail, though Bennett may be ordered to serve much less, or even no jail time, when he is sentenced in October. Three rioters have been sentenced so far, two of whom received jail time. www.cnn.com/2021/07/22/politics/capitol-rioter-20th-guilty-plea/index.html

This is the guy from Texas who threatened his kids if they turned him in.... (CNN)A federal judge forced a US Capitol rioter to unlock his laptop Wednesday after prosecutors argued that it likely contained footage of the January 6 insurrection from his helmet-worn camera. The judge granted the Justice Department's request to place Capitol riot defendant Guy Reffitt in front of his laptop so they could use facial recognition to unlock the device. The maneuver happened after the hearing ended and Reffitt's lawyer confirmed to CNN that the laptop was unlocked. Investigators seized the laptop and other devices earlier this year pursuant to a search warrant. Reffitt has been in jail since his arrest in January. His case received national attention after his son spoke publicly about how Reffitt had threatened to kill family members if they turned him into the FBI. The case became an example of how former President Donald Trump's lies tore some families apart -- Reffitt's son and daughter testified against him in court ...... www.cnn.com/2021/07/21/politics/capitol-rioter-unlock-laptop/index.html

Look out MA!! Meet those who think the insurrection was fulfilled by 'heros' Outrage erupts in MA town as ‘ignorant’ conservatives plan 'heroes of Jan 6' fundraiser for pro-Trump insurrectionists John Wright July 23, 2021 An extremist right-wing group in Massachusetts, Super Happy Fun America, plans to host a "heroes of Jan. 6" fundraiser on Saturday benefitting two people charged in the Capitol insurrection. The "Refounding Fathers Festival" is expected to draw 300 people from about 20 groups, including pro-Trump clubs and other conservative organizations, according to Patch. Those in attendance will include the two beneficiaries, founding Super Happy Fun America member Sue Ianni, who is also a Natic Town Meeting member, and the group's vice president, Mark Sahady. Both face charges for participating in the insurrection. "I think it's heroic to protest against a stolen election," Super Happy Fun America organizer John Hugo said.In the wake of Patch's report, another group called Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) Worcester is calling on the venue, Century Sportsman's Club in Auburn, to cancel the event. SURJ 's Lydia Proulx told the Telegram & Gazette that "Super Happy Fun America has a history of hosting events that are intentionally inflammatory and hateful toward 'marginalized folks,' including the Straight Pride Parade in Boston, which, she said, was 'a hilarious misnomer for essentially a Trump parade.'" "We believe that Super Happy Fun America is a white supremacist organization because they are known to welcome and collaborate with prominent white nationalists in the United States, including the leader of the Proud Boys, the Nationalist Socialists Front and others," Proulx said. "They also echo their hateful ideology whether it's anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, heterosexism, homophobia." MassEquality, a statewide LGBTQ advocacy group, is organizing a counterdemonstration outside the fundraiser. Auburn Selectman Tristan LaLiberte wrote on Facebook that he was "appalled and disappointed" that the sportsman's club agreed to host the event. "It is an embarrassment to our community that a group that honors those that led an insurrection against this country and that prides itself on being anti-LGBTQ thinks that they will be welcomed in Auburn," LaLiberte said. "Totally ignorant to their own irony, this group claims to be patriotic while hoisting those who stormed the nation's Capitol up on a pedestal." Hugo responded by claiming that Showing Up for Racial Justice is "basically antifa." "I knew that people on the left would lose their lunch over that," Hugo said, referring to the "Heroes of January 6th" reference. "But they have been pushing a fake narrative saying that this is the worst thing to happen in our country since the Civil War. I mean, give me a break. On the left, they're pushing back against all of these efforts to tighten up the election laws just to present fraud and they're calling it Jim Crow. That's ridiculous. "I believe it's heroic to go to the seat of government to challenge a fraudulent election," he added. "This is, in my opinion, the biggest scandal in American history, this stolen election." Representatives from the Century Sportsman's Club haven't commented on the controversy, but Hugo claims they plan to "stick to their guns" and go though with the event. www.rawstory.com/heroes-of-jan-6-fundraising-event/

Consequences.,. Prominent white nationalist Shawn McCaffrey is no longer serving in the United States Air Force, HuffPost reported Friday. McCaffrey — who lives near Detroit and did not immediately respond to a request for comment — was a key member of Identity Evropa, a group infamous for its role in the deadly 2017 'Unite The Right' white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia," HuffPost reported. "Although McCaffrey did not attend the Charlottesville rally, he was still very active with Identity Evropa, traveling with its leaders to a white nationalist conference in Washington, D.C., in 2016. In the ensuing years, he remained a fixture on the far right, co-hosting a racist, homophobic and anti-Semitic podcast." It has been more than three months since HuffPost exposed that McCaffrey was enlisted in the Air Force under the headline, "The Military Says It's Confronting Extremism. A Prominent White Nationalist Just Finished Boot Camp." The report noted McCaffrey co-hosted a podcast with Matt Evans, where the two regularly bashed Jews, women, sexuality minorities, and others. "Among the notable white supremacist guests were Richard Spencer; Christopher Cantwell, the 'crying Nazi' infamous for his role in a Vice documentary about the Charlottesville rally; Patrick Little, a former Senate candidate from California who's called for the 'complete eradication' of Jews; Matt Forney, a prominent misogynist who has defended raping and beating women; Tim Gionet, also known as 'Baked Alaska,' who was recently arrested for his role in the Capitol insurrection; and Andrew Anglin, the fugitive founder of The Daily Stormer, one of the most influential and extreme neo-Nazi sites on the internet, who believes Jewish people should be gassed," HuffPost reported. www.rawstory.com/shawn-mccaffrey-air-force/

Trump falsely claimed Babbitt was "innocent" and called her a "wonderful, incredible woman" despite the fact the QAnon conspiracy theorist and Air Force veteran violated her oath to defend the Constitution by attempting to overturn the 2020 election results. Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) broke with Trump during a CSPAN interview looking back at what he experienced during the Jan 6th insurrection. *** "He was doing his job, he got put in a situation where he had to do his job because there were members still in the balcony. And if you're going to present your weapon in a manner and give commands and they still don't listen and they still approach, you don't have a choice because either you have to at that point discharge your weapon in a manner of self-defense or that weapon is going to be taken away from you, it's going to be used on you and put all of our lives in danger, too," Mullin explained. A Justice Department investigation found "there is insufficient evidence to support a criminal prosecution" of the officer who killed Babbitt. www.rawstory.com/ashli-babbitt-2653918773/

A lot about the Oath Keepers ... When members of the far-right militia network known as the Oath Keepers stormed the US Capitol on January 6, they were supposed to be under the command of a 37-year-old Black man from a poor neighborhood in Indianapolis—who says he doesn’t support Donald Trump. That man is Michael Simmons, an Army veteran who served in the Iraq War, and who currently faces the possibility of federal charges for his actions on January 6. Until now, Simmons has not been publicly identified for his role at the Capitol. During multiple phone interviews in recent weeks with Mother Jones, Simmons confirmed he is “Person Ten” in a sweeping federal conspiracy case, an unindicted co-conspirator described by prosecutors in court filings as the leader of operations for a group of Oath Keepers who descended on Washington that day. So far, 17 of the group’s members have been charged with plotting to stop Congress from certifying President Joe Biden’s election victory, among other alleged crimes. Four have pleaded guilty, including Caleb Berry, an Oath Keeper from Florida, who in a July 20 plea hearing admitted that he and his co-conspirators “intended” to hinder Congress by “intimidating and coercing government personnel.” Court filings detail phone calls and messages that Simmons exchanged with Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes and other group members in the minutes before multiple Oath Keepers unlawfully entered and occupied the Capitol building amid the invading pro-Trump mob. Simmons has been questioned by FBI agents and says he did nothing illegal and has nothing to hide. His actions on January 6 included meeting up just outside the Capitol, alongside Rhodes, with 11 Oath Keepers who participated in the siege. Rhodes has also spoken with the FBI and has not been charged, though he said he expects to be arrested. There is no indication either Simmons or Rhodes entered the Capitol Building. Both deny doing so. Mother Jones reached Simmons and verified his identity after anonymous online researchers who call themselves “Capitol Terrorists Exposers” provided information about him. Simmons voiced no regret for his involvement with members of a group who helped storm Congress. He defended his own actions, minimized the events of that day and blamed the media for overhyping the assault on the Capitol. “What happened was fucked up,” he said. “It was wrong, but ‘insurrection’ is a bit much.” According to the Justice Department, participants in the January 6 mob assaulted approximately 140 police officers as well as members of the media and caused $1.5 million in damages to Congress. Some threatened to murder House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Mike Pence. Five people who were at the Capitol died on or shortly after January 6. The siege marked the first time in US history that a mob, driven by lies, attempted to violently prevent the peaceful transition of power in Washington. Simmons also goes by the name Michael Greene (he declined to explain why) and said that he is a former employee of Blackwater, the infamous private security company founded by Erik Prince, a claim Mother Jones was unable to verify. He insisted that his involvement with the Oath Keepers is purely professional and not political. He said he went to Washington as as a security expert, helping to guard longtime Trump adviser Roger Stone and others for pay. He said his experience in the military and his life “as a Black man from a low-income neighborhood” underwrite his disinterest in politics. “It’s exactly the same whoever’s in office,” he said, which is why he said he supports neither Joe Biden nor Donald Trump. www.motherjones.com/politics/2021/07/oath-keepers-january-6-capitol-insurrection-michael-simmons-person-ten/?utm_source=mj-newsletters&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=daily-newsletter-07-26-2021While lot more at link...

Jerk. You've been allowed to be free, out of jail, since just after you were arrested after you participated at the Capitol. That was not good enough... No guns the judge said. Oh well... Back to jail for you!! A former Virginia police officer who is facing charges in connection with the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol has been ordered detained pending trial after federal agents found guns in his home. A D.C. federal judge revoked pretrial release for former Rocky Mount Police officer Thomas Robertson on Wednesday, finding probable cause that he may have committed a felony on pretrial release. Robertson was among the first arrested a week after the Capitol breach. He was ordered released pending trial shortly after, and was ordered not to possess a firearm. **** But in a court filing dated June 30, prosecutors said law enforcement searched Robertson’s home and found a loaded M4 rifle and “a partially-assembled pipe bomb.” Authorities also found that Robertson purchased an arsenal of 34 firearms waiting for him to pick up from a firearms store. Prosecutors also flagged several of Robertsons’s post to an online forum, in which he said “I have learned that if you peacefully protest than you will be arrested, fired, be put on a no fly list, have your name smeared and address released by the FBI so every loon in the US can send you hate mail.” thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/565337-ex-va-cop-who-stormed-capitol-ordered-jailed-after-feds-find-guns-in

Oh, sorry ... HIs church group gave him up to the FBI! Glenn Allen Brooks of Huntington Beach, California has been charged with disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, along with disorderly conduct and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building. In the criminal complaint against Brooks, the FBI explained how he was identified. "On or about January 30, 2021, the FBI received an electronic tip from Witness #1, who stated that a member of his/her church prayer text group, Glenn Brooks, boasted of his active participation in the January 6, 2021, events at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. Witness #1 also stated that Brooks sent photos of his attendance at the Capitol to the church text group that included other people at the riots/protest and a selfie photo of himself inside the Capitol," an FBI special agent attested. During a follow up interview, the witness provided Brooks' address, phone number and email address. The special agent says the Bureau corroborated the information the witness provided. The witness also provide a photo of Brooks and said a selfie photo taken inside the Capitol also depicted Brooks. www.rawstory.com/insurrectionists/

Sure helps your client when you piss off the judge!! The defense attorney representing accused MAGA rioter Dan Goodwyn told a court on Friday that his client must not be forced to wear a face mask while in court -- and got promptly yelled at by the judge overseeing the case. "Goodwyn cannot wear a mask... and is not into vaccines," the attorney said, according to MacFarlane. The lawyer would add that wearing a mask was "like torture" to Goodwyn. The judge, however, was not having it, and MacFarlane says he became "irate" and started shouting at the lawyer. "We have a pandemic!" he yelled. The defense lawyer continued to make his case that Goodwyn must not be forced to wear a mask, at which point the judge threatened to hold him in contempt of court. A few minutes later, the defense attorney complained about pre-trial services workers being "arrogant" and "prissy" toward his client, which caused the judge to start "screaming" at him, MacFarlane writes. "This is the angriest I've heard any judge in any Jan 6 case so far," MacFarlane comments on Twitter. "Easily." www.rawstory.com/capitol-rioter-court-appearance/

SALT LAKE CITY — Authorities have arrested a Utah man who they say yelled "it's wartime!" and taunted officers in the Jan. 6 siege at the United States Capitol before making his way down hallways inside the building. 2 more plead guilty will face sentencing Aug... And Sept . MacFarlane then broke down the guilty plea of MAGA rioter Robert Reeder. "He is pleading guilty to the misdemeanor we've seen so many others plea to so far: unlawful picketing and parading," he said. "Before his case, everybody that pleaded guilty has avoided prison, but today the feds recommended two months prison time for him for a few reasons. They said he seemed proud of what he did January 6th, even after the insurrection, and it seems like the feds have had enough, Nicolle. A little more info on Fairlamb.. Scott Kevin Fairlamb’s deal with federal prosecutors could be a benchmark for dozens of other cases in which Capitol rioters clashed with police. Fairlamb’s attorney said prosecutors will recommend a prison sentence ranging from about 3 1/2 to 4 1/4 years, but the judge isn’t bound by that term of the plea agreement. **** Fairlamb, 44, a former mixed martial arts fighter whose brother is a U.S. Secret Service agent, was one of the very first rioters to breach the Capitol after other rioters smashed windows using riot shields and kicked out a locked door, according to federal prosecutors. After leaving the building, Fairlamb harassed a line of police officers, shouting in their faces and blocking their progress through the mob, prosecutors wrote in a court filing. A video showed him holding a collapsible baton and shouting, and shouting, “What (do) patriots do? We f——— disarm them and then we storm the f——— Capitol!”www.aol.com/news/gym-owner-pleads-guilty-assaulting-172930201-181559381.html

Oh no not me, I wasn't in the Capitol... 'Cowboys for Trump' founder offered plea deal for invading the Capitol: report Matthew Chapman August 09, 2021 On Monday, The Detroit News reported that federal prosecutors have offered a confidential Capitol riot plea agreement to Couy Griffin, a commissioner of Otero County, New Mexico and the founder of "Cowboys for Trump." "The county commissioner from New Mexico still denies federal charges that he knowingly entering barricaded areas of the Capitol grounds with the intent of disrupting government as Congress considered the 2020 Electoral College results," said the report. "Griffin reached an outside terrace of the Capitol without entering the building and used a bullhorn to try to lead a tumultuous crowd in prayer. He was arrested after his return to Washington to oppose President Joe Biden's inauguration." Griffin has reportedly been one of the more difficult Capitol riot suspects in jail, having to be put in isolation after he refused to take a COVID-19 test. A federal judge appointed by former President Donald Trump rejected an argument from Griffin that his prosecution was retaliation for his political beliefs, allowing the trial to move forward. www.rawstory.com/capitol-riot-plea-deal/

Living at home with mom and dad... Bragging about his DC adventures .. Trump supporter Derek Cooper Gunby was arrested at his home in Anderson, South Carolina. "Agents used a battering ram on the door of his home, where Gunby lives with his parents, at 6 a.m., Gunby's father said," reports the Post and Courier. "He said the U.S. is turning into a 'third world country.' Gunby's attorney then advised his father not to speak to the media." *** In messages posted on January 6th, Gunby justified storming the Capitol by saying that the election was "stolen" from former President Donald Trump and warned that he and his fellow rioters could have done much worse if they'd really wanted to. www.rawstory.com/capitol-riot-arrests-2654619967/

We've had info and a posting on this guy before... An admitted U.S. Capitol rioter now claims he's a Democrat and not a Donald Trump supporter -- although he was seen wearing a "MAGA" hat and heard chanting "fight for Trump" during the Jan. 6 insurrection. The attorney for Robert Reeder, who pleaded guilty to joining the riot, claims in a new court filing the 55-year-old took a train from Maryland to Washington, D.C., to hear the defeated president speak at a "Stop the Steal" rally because he had "nothing better to do," and made a "spur of the moment decision and regrettable mistake" when he followed the crowd of Trump supporters into the Capitol, reported the Associated Press. "Mr. Reeder is not politically active, is not and has never been a member of any right-wing or anti-government or extremist group and has, unfortunately, been publicly grouped with many others (whose) views he abhors," wrote defense attorney Robert Bonsib. The lawyer claims Reeder attended the Trump rally, which had been heavily promoted by right-wing social media accounts, because he thought it might be the last time he would hear the then-president speak. www.rawstory.com/robert-reeder-capitol/

Whole boatload arrested for assaulting a police officer.... State Department appointee Federico Klein was charged with six counts of assaulting police after federal investigators identified him in bodycam video pushing to the front of a crowd in the Capitol tunnel and trying to grab an officer's riot shield before picking up a large metal pole, reported WUSA-TV. "We need fresh people," Klein says in the video, according to investigators. **** Two previously uncharged men, David Mehaffie, of Kettering, Ohio, and Steven Cappuccio, of Texas, were added to the government's case against the mob of Trump supporters who attacked police in the tunnels beneath the Capitol, including D.C. police officer Daniel Hodges, who pinned against a door frame by rioters. **** Six other men -- David Lee Judd, Patrick McCaughey III, Robert Morss, Christopher Joseph Quaglin, Geoffrey William Sills and Tristan Chandler Stevens -- were also charged in the newly unsealed indictment. McCaughey, of Connecticut, is charged with using a stolen riot shield to crush Hodges against the doorframe, and Morss, a substitute teacher from Pennsylvania and former U.S. Army Ranger, was charged with leading and assault on police and organizing support from other rioters. Each of these defendants was an active participant in the first wave of rioters to enter the tunnel between 2:40 and 3:18 p.m.," the Justice Department said in a filing last month. "Moreover, several of the defendants, including Mr. Klein, committed additional crimes on the first landing of the Lower West Terrace before reaching the tunnel for the first time." www.rawstory.com/federico-klein-2654658377/

Another snowflake not happy with his electronic ankle bracelet. He want to walk his dog and take care of his mom... Consequences... Daniel Egtvedt is a politically connected, Trump-loving salesman from Maryland who posted about the QAnon conspiracy movement prior to the Capitol insurrection, according to the Daily Beast, which described his actions on Jan. 6 as a "nightmare for police." According to a criminal complaint, Egtvedt was seen in photos and videos pushing through a line of Capitol police officers to storm the building before interacting bizarrely with several cops, including screaming at one to "shoot me." He clashed with police at least three times and screamed into a fellow rioter's livestream, "We're not backing away; this is our house!" Egtvedt, who's charged with nine felony and misdemeanor counts in connection with the insurrection, was released from jail in April with strict conditions. In a motion filed Aug. 8, his attorneys asked a judge to "remove the condition of electronic location monitoring." www.rawstory.com/capitol-rioter-daniel-egtvedt/

We've seen the guy in action in court before.. demanded a plea deal. Now doesn't want it... Judge not so happy. The Capitol rioter known as "helmet boy" rejected a plea agreement Tuesday after previously demanding one, in what one reporter described as "a mess" of a hearing. *** Zach Alam, who was captured on video using a riot helmet to smash a window to the Speaker's Lobby during the Jan. 6 riot, told a federal judge Tuesday that he is representing himself as "general counsel," and that his attorney was merely "an assistant," according to a report from investigative reporter Scott MacFarlane. *** We're not going to have any disruptions in this hearing today.... are we clear?" court staff told Alam at the start of the hearing. www.rawstory.com/helmet-boy-capitol-rioter/

The amount of traffic on this web site became alarming and was reported to FBI and CPD.. DC website about Capitol's underground tunnel maps exploded with traffic days before Jan 6 attack: report Sarah K. Burris August 17, 2021 NBC News reporter Scott MacFarlane reported Tuesday that a website maintained by a former Capitol intern about the underground tunnels beneath the U.S. Capitol exploded with web traffic the day prior to the attack on the building. Speaking to NBC Washington, MacFarlane explained that Elliot Carter, who runs the website WashingtonTunnels.com, was worried that people were trying to find escape routes or entry points to the building during the attack or for the attack. His concern made its way to leadership in the U.S. Capitol Police. "These people were suddenly obsessed with the Capitol building," Carter said. Carter's website goes through the history and updated information on the underground tunnels and pipe systems as part of the city planning for Washington, D.C. For local D.C. history buffs and infrastructure nerds, Carter's website is a well-researched collection of information that includes maps and details about the D.C. metro system, the underground shops of Dupont Circle and the water and sewer delivery for the nation's capitol. Those maps turned out to be a key piece of information that saw a lot of clicks ahead of the attack. Capitol Hill has underground tunnels that connect the main building to the House and Senate office buildings, the visitor's center and the Library of Congress. It was originally built by the Studebaker Company in 1909, the Architect of the Capitol's website says. It's mostly used as a quick back-and-forth for members who need to get to cast votes on the floor and back to their offices for meetings. www.rawstory.com/capitol-tunnel-map-traffic-insurrection/
