My 18 y/o has an appointment for her first shot. My 15 y/o isn’t yet eligible, but I’ll get her in as soon as she is.

Ds19 says no. It’s his choice but I’m thinking he’ll change his mind at some point.
Ds10 won’t be eligible for awhile yet hopefully by time he is it won’t be so new and dh and I will be more comfortable with it.

Mine are 15 and 12, so not eligible yet. The 15 year old will definitely get one once they are approved as she has asthma. The 12 year old will, too, but not feeling in as big a rush for him.

Our entire family of 5 had Covid back in December and as of last night, with DD16 getting her 1st vaccine, we have all had our 1st jabs. We in no way shape or form wanna go thru what we went thru with having Covid again. And me being a long hauler, ya no thanks! Everyone was on board, no one had any hesitation. Kids are 23, 18, and 16.
And we all had a pretty strong reaction to the 1st vaccine and we where calling it Covid-light but all agreed it was nothing compared to the real thing! We are hoping for a not so strong reaction to vaccine #2. We also all got the Pfizer vaccine. 10 out of 10 would recommend compared to getting Covid!

My 16 year old wants it. We will schedule him soon so he can be fully vaccinated before summer football workouts.

Both my kids are adults and will be making their own decisions. My older DS and his wife are both considered medically at risk, so will be getting their first shots soon. My younger DS has no health issues, and so is a long way down the priority list, so he isn't really thinking much about it. He'll probably get it, but it won't be for months.

My 20 year old will get it when it's her turn but the 17 year old will have to wait for a while as non of the ones here are approved for under 18, 16 if you have under lying health conditions which she hasn't. She will get it eventually when the time comes. It's the risk of long Covid that sways it rather than the risk of hospitalization or dying as in the older age groups.

Yes! My 12 yo keeps asking when he can get it and my 19 year old is getting it asap. I do understand hesitation and fear but rolling the dice with covid is much more terrifying.

Our two oldest (24 and 22) wanted to get the vaccines and have had their first doses. Our youngest (19) got his vaccines done by February. He works for the University as a driver for a safe ride program, so he wanted to be safe around us since he has contact with so many people. He also lives in the dorm, so it made sense for him.

My oldest will be eligible when he turns 16 next month, but we're not in a big rush since we all had very mild cases in February. I won't be surprised if he has to get it before a (fingers crossed) school trip to Germany in 11 months. Youngest DS is only 13 so it's not an issue right now.
DH & I are not opposed to the vaccine, we're just not in a rush either (letting everyone else who really wants it to get it first...)

Yea mine are excited to get it. They are all getting Pfizer. DD15 is mad she turned 15 in March instead of 16 because she wants the vaccine but Pfizer has requested approval for 12-15 so she will hopefully get hers by summer.

My 19 year old got her 1st Moderna shot this past Wednesday. I found a spot for her and picked her up from school She came home and did her classes from here for the week (they’re all virtual). And while she was here, we got information from her school to schedule vaccinations there. We have such good timing 😩 Yeah - I was up at midnight scheduling my daughter the minute she was eligible in her state, mostly worried that if she didn't get the shot right away it would be hard to get the second before she flew home and I'd have to deal with scheduling a second shot in a different state which I hear can be difficult. I snagged an appointment a couple days later for Moderna. Then the online system totally screwed up the schedule for the second jab and I spent hours for a human being at Walgreens. A week later her university announced they would be vaccinating everyone interested with J&J. Oops

My 18 year old nephew got his first shot. I don't know if the 16 year old is signed up yet. The little one is too young still.

A week later her university announced they would be vaccinating everyone interested with J&J. Oops I had a similar issue with scheduling. I originally found an appointment giving the Pfizer vaccine but the second dose would have been squarely in the middle of exam week and I didn’t want to do that to her in case she ended up not feeling well. She has needle anxiety as it is and that would have sucked while studying for exams. I made her research before deciding and she wanted the Pfizer. I felt bad that she couldn’t get that, but in the end she just said sign her up for whatever I could find. And then her university had appointments for all three available for kids leaving early or out of state. Oh well! This shall soon be behind us.

My oldest (18) already has it. My next-oldest is 15, so not eligible; it looks like 12-15 will be approved next, so he will get it when he can.

My 25 year old was vaccinated through her job. She is a SLP based in skilled nursing facilities.
My 21-year old.... scheduled to get her first dose this past Wednesday, at her university. Two hours prior, she gets a call from a contract tracer. One of her close friends tested positive that morning. Dd is in quarantine now. No vaccine.
She has a test tomorrow. So far she has no symptoms. I’m crossing my fingers that that remains the case today and into tomorrow morning.
I believe her school will likely require the vaccine in the fall, given that they are offering vaccinations this spring. We will have to work on finding her one this summer. I’m concerned that it will be challenging now that vaccines will be open to everyone in a matter of days. I’m also concerned that there will be fewer J&J doses available— more competition for fewer total doses.

Yes, as soon as they are able to at 13. I’m a bit concerned about the two shots since I have one child who really struggles with shots, and we haven’t always been able to get him his flu shot every year, but he understands it is coming, but I’m afraid he is going to want to wait for Johnson and Johnson.
We will cross that bridge. But yes, they will be vaccinated at some point and hopefully before school starts next fall.

Of course. They're in college and can choose for themselves. However, we need them to be vaccinated in order to live here over the summer, because of me. Both boys wanted the vaccine, anyway. One had his J&J last week and one will get his first Pfizer this week.

My 20 yr old has already gotten on jab. My daughter will be getting it when she is eligible. The risks of the vaccine are outweighed by the risks of Covid at this point, not just to us as individuals but as a society.

Mine are 20 and 23 and they both got the J&J one last week. We left it up to them. There was no hesitation from either of them. They have been careful this past year and luckily, even though have had contact with positive people, haven’t gotten it (been tested multiple times). No side effects other than a sore arm for about a day.

21 y.o ds got his (he's a first responder) 14 dd isn't old enough yet and says she doesn't want it. I'd like her to get it so that as a family, we are all protected and can visit with the grandparents safely.

DD (21 in a couple of weeks) got hers two weeks ago. She and I both felt it was essential as she has type 1 diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis.
I had signed our whole household up with the health department ahead of time and waited for them to call. She got her call first and came running down the stairs screaming with excitement. Dh and I ended up getting ours via Kroger (and were notified by the health dept the same day that we could get in lol).

DD18 gets her 1st dose next week. Very relieved with all the grad and end of school year activities and with leaving for basic training shortly after. They are just beginning to figure out how to immunize the soldiers where she's headed and they are asking enlistees to get the shot before they come if they can. It was really hard to schedule for her age up until about 2 weeks ago and all of a sudden there have been pop up immunization clinics that we have been able to jump on. Haven't found any that I can get DS16 into yet, all of them here are limiting them to 18 and up even if its Pfizer. That should be changing here soon, too.
In general, scheduling them has been a cluster and I was getting mighty pissy about it. It has been getting much better, thankfully.

My son (age 18) got his on Friday, when I got mine. First dose for both of us. My daughter is only 7 but once there is a vaccine for her age group, she will get it as well.
