I've had a Cameo 1 for over ten years and I'm starting to have some issues with it and also wanting some new features, so I'm thinking of possibly getting the 4 in the next year or so. I've done a lot of reading on the Cameo 4 and I'm familiar with most of its special features, but the question I have for those who have upgraded is your thoughts on its performance, especially comparing an older version to a new one. I mostly cut paper, so I'm wondering if the Cameo 4 does a better job of cutting super intricate designs with paper. My current Cameo can cut intricate designs, but they're not quite as clean as I'd like and it takes more effort/special circumstances to set up (using a brand new mat, using a thinner weight of paper, cutting slower, etc). I've done a lot of research and experimenting with my current Cameo for intricate designs, so I'm pretty sure I'm getting the best cuts possible with my current machine, but if the Cameo 4 has better outcomes with detailed cuts, it might be the push I need to upgrade.
However, I also wonder if my expectations of my Cameo are unrealistic, given that I also use a manual die cutter and have gotten spoiled by the precision of manual dies with intricate designs. I'm really interested to hear what the Peas have to say! Thanks!

I have an old silhouette and had given up on it until I bought the other blades recommended here. Game changer for getting good cuts. Yes, I know the newer machine do more things. And I know I’ll have to upgrade sometime. But these blades made such a difference for now.

I went from a Cameo 1 to a Cameo 4. Like you, I’d had it for longer than I can remember. I’m not sure how intricate you’re looking to cut but this egg file from Paige Evans gave me zero problems whatsoever. https://www.instagram.com/p/CNxC11QAlzZ

I agree that they're great...I just want more I guess! That's part of why I'm trying to figure out if I'm just spoiled by the results of manual die cutting or if upgrading would make a difference.

They're the Graphtec CB09 blades. If you look for my first post in this thread, I linked the blades I've ordered.
