Let's talk about unfinished projects. How old are your oldest unfinished projects? Do you think you'll ever complete them?
I have a few mini books I started when I first started scrapping/was still pretty new, so maybe 2007-2008 timeframe? I still have them packaged up in sleeves to one day be finished. At this point I know I don't want to finish them the way I started them, I like to think my style and technique have both improved a lot! But I just can't bring myself to toss them. I'm not sure what I'm holding on to them for! I think the photos are all digital and if not I can at least harvest the prints that are there.
What about you?

I haven't started my wedding/honeymoon album from 2007 and I'm not sure I'll ever actually do that scrapbook. I do have photobooks of them but not actually the scrapbooks. I started my Italy 2008 album but I kind of want to restart it because I don't like some of the pages.

My DD played fast pitch softball from 6th-12th grade. At first I scrapbooked entire books of softball...and now I am stuck on 9th grade. I have over 500 pics total of softball. I don't want to look at a softball ever again. DD is 23. I think I bought all the fastpitch softball paper I could find, along with albums that had covers that looked like a softball. I am thinking I might just do the rest of them in a PL type album and call it a day.

oldest as in oldest photos or oldest as in started earliest? I have plenty of both. I've been scrapping since April 2002...

My oldest photos to be scrapped are from the early 1900s, but as I didn't start scrapbooking until around 2000, that's the year I'll give.
Of course, I have other unfinished craft projects that go back to the 80s. Unframed cross stitches and lots of "someday" projects.

My high school years from 1989-1993: My memorabilia and some photos are sorted by year but I don't think I have all of the photos printed.
A trip to Barcelona in 2008: I have the photos printed, the journaling was typed up the week after we returned, and I think the cover page is finished. We also went to Madrid on that same trip and I have that album finished. My style has changed so much since then that I'm not sure I can make them look cohesive.

I have a holiday album from 2011 that I've never finished that I still consider an active project. I started doing it digitally and I haven't played in digi in a while which is why it has stalled, but I still hope to finish it one day.

The only one I know of for sure is a mini album for my youngest. I made an album for my oldest using a kit (Bo Bunny maybe?) that I loved so much so I was excited to run across another kit a few years later after I had DS#2. I don't even know how far I got into making the 2nd album, but I just know that I never even got to the picking out photos stage. I see the bag with the kit whenever I do some cleaning up or rearranging & the guilt comes back...not enough to get it out and work on it though...DS with the finished album is almost 16 & DS with the unfinished one is 13 so I've had it 11-12 years.
Otherwise I'm sure there are some WITL or DD albums that need some finishing touches as well as some travel albums (like the 3rd album of our 2016 DC road trip...I got the pictures and cards into the pockets, but not the journalling!)

1999: I’ve been working on moving 95 years of maternal heritage photos from their original albums to a mix of page protectors and pocket pages. I’m not really scrapbooking most of them, but it’s slow going. They needed airing out originally - decades of smokers in the families. WRMK discontinued the albums I am using (TWICE), and I’m trying to scan as I go. And my mother kept finding more loose photos and random albums and breaking the chronology, but I think I have everything now. I started with the worst condition albums - sixties sticky albums, and some 70s stinky PVC slip pocket ones were first. Now I’m working on these weird slip boxes from the 70s that the glue let go so the slip pockets are loose now. (I did finish hers and her mothers weddings and her early childhood).
2010: ongoing Halloween mini album I started in 2010 that will probably wrap up soon. The kids are getting older but I’ll include pics any year they wear costumes. I bought 6x6 SEI preservation albums to make versions for them but haven’t yet.
2007ish: I made one layout for our honeymoon album. The 8x8 unusual suitcase album itself is still shrink wrapped. I’m not sure I still want to do it that way because we have too much memorabilia to fit in it.
2009ish: ongoing Library of Memories (Stacy Julian) system started.
2011: 8x8 baby album for youngest started. It’s got 6 months to go. 8x8 pregnancy mini album needs final touches. Journaling done, need photos cropped and laid out.
Dec 2020: Started elementary school scrapbooks for the kids. Need to finish sorting through 3 bins of memorabilia to get moving on it again.
I also toyed with photo a day digitally in 2009. Only got through January. Those pages are in my Library of Memories albums.

I've been scrapping since high school, so the answer is many. I prefer the term ongoing.
The only album with an end date is my youngest child's baby-preschool years. I stopped doing individual albums once my kids were in school. I realized with the first two children, I'm a slow scrapper and a family album is enough for me.

I can't having handle unfinished projects. I'm much more likely to do something to them to make them finished-enough or rip them apart and start them over. I do have some half-started fabric projects that are now more like "test pieces" or "sampler" pieces that I keep in a memory box because they're too precious to throw out but I'm 100% over that project/craft. In that way they are now finished test/sampler pieces in my mind, not unfinished quilts/whatever (I only have a couple).
I don't have any unfinished or ongoing albums from my scrapbooking days. They're all finished-enough or finished-for-now (my pandemic notebook I don't have the energy to add to).
BUT, oops, I forgot, I do have a couple of unfinished digital photobook projects from the last 2 years. They're invisible so they just moulder away on my laptop.

Good question but difficult to answer. I started this type of scrapping around 1999-2000. I have redone everything I initially scrapped. The oldest project I started and haven't finished is my heritage photos. I started them I think around 2003 ish? I have 3 large albums, but have acquired photos and information since I made them and they need to be updated with the photos and memorabilia. In fact, it should be a priority because that stuff will be the most treasured and the most difficult to scrap as each generation passes.
I barely started the photos of DH and I before kids. I think my kids and grandkids would like seeing that album. I pulled those items together many years ago and have barely scrapped any of them. It's on the list.....
Even if I finish them, which I would love to do, I want to get all my albums scanned and made into shutterfly type books. My boys have said they cannot take all these albums. They really would need an entire room each.

Well, I have lots of old photos not even started putting into albums cohesively, but I'll talk about the albums not quite done.
An overseas school-type trip i went on in my early teens. I wasn't a scrapbooker yet, but kept so much memorabilia. It was also pre-digital days, and I think I took 10 rolls of film in three weeks. Not many photos of me, either.
I need to scan or reprint from negatives all the pics, and work on layouts.
I do have some pages started/finished that didn't include actual photos.
I love that album and hope to finish it one day. Maybe will make it a priority this fall when the kids go back to in person school, and I might get a day off work that isn't only Sunday.
Another project that I love that isn't truly finished is my 2008 Tokyo Disneyland & DisneySea albums.
I was already a scrapbooker when we went there, so knew memorabilia to keep, etc. Also had digital cameras.
It is two 12x12 3 ring albums big. Disneyland album is finished. But I stopped DisneySea album because my (then) dh, who I had just taken the trip with, told me about his affair, wanting a divorce, etc.
It was the most magical trip, and now it's tainted with all the sad memories from the weeks right after.
But it still is an album I'd like to finish. Probably just make the last pages very simple (the rest of the layouts are super ornate).
I sat on wedding photos for a decade+, always waiting for a time when I thought I could do them justice, but never did scrap them. It was a very, very small wedding, could probably be done in an 8x8" postbound album. I sometimes think of putting it together now, but don't know if I should.

I snorted so hard when I saw this question. I guess you can count my hook rug from when I was a teenager which was way too long ago to mention and I cannot bring myself to throw it out. But for scrapping things? 20 years. That’s how old my youngest child is.

I have a few mini albums with handmade covers in various stages of completion. The mini albums aren't for me, though. I make them to sell, not to keep. I don't have the attention span to keep on a single project for a long time, so I tend to hop around quite a bit.
I have a few vacations from 2018-2020 that I've barely started scrapbooking because the projects seem daunting. I also have my wedding album in progress. I didn't start working on that until about 2014 and it's only a third of the way done.

I have so many layouts that vary in ages from 2 years to a few months just waiting for either titles, journalling or both on my desk. I started my wedding album in 2011 when we got married and a decade on I think I have only done 2 pages. I never really did my kids babies albums, that one hurts to think about doing. The longest though is a sewing project that I started back when I was in high school, a handbag that is still in the paper bag that it has been in since 1998 , I really need to either bin it or do something with it lol

I have a stack of finished layouts that need to go into albums. I either have to buy more page protectors or more albums for this pile.

My father passed away in 2005. I have an Iris box with all the materials to make a tribute album. I am NEVER in the mood for this album. 16 years? I doubt it ever gets done.
I have several other scrapbooks from 2011 on that I started and never got around to finishing.

I’ve never been a chronological or theme scrapper; I just scrap photos or occasions at random. As a result, I have no incomplete projects. I do however have several partially completed needlepoint cushion fronts, and a number of unfinished knitting projects. I always smile when I see the latter, because they remind me of my favourite aunt who used to ask me if I had any new 'unfinished symphonies'.

Um, almost 25 years. I have a couple of layouts to go in DD's KDG album and she's already graduated with a DVM so, yeah, I'm a bit behind... I do plan to finish, but it's packed away since I downsized and moved into a very tiny place years ago.

I had started an album for a cruise I went on in 2001 when I was pregnant with my son...he is turning 19 next month & I still haven't finished it! I've finished lots of other travel & cruise albums but haven't gone back and finished this one. I'm going to put it on my "to-do" list LOL!!
