The special kind of teachers who teach at this school are probably the same kind of special as the admin so I don’t imagine it will have much of an impact. I imagine that level of stupid is the perfect example of “you are the company you keep.” It is extremely frustrating that this kind of stupidity is so widespread and just getting worse. I’m sure Florida is like Texas in that private schools and many charters are not required to hire certified teachers. Adherence to the group’s religious, politics, or other beliefs, not any degree or credential, is often the primary qualification for employment. |

And this is why I still can’t convince my mom to get a vaccine. She was telling me today that the vaccine causes dementia. Umm no. Covid can have neurological effects but I haven’t seen anything about the vaccine causing neuro issues. I wish she would not look at alternative news sites. Since she believes CNN is completely corrupt I have tried to steer her to other reputable sources, but no. She keeps going back to the fringe sources. She also mentioned that she couldn’t believe they were testing the vaccine on young children. By this point I was extremely frustrated and I snapped back “well if all the adults would get vaccinated we would probably reach herd immunity without vaccinating preschoolers!” Sorry for the derail and rant, I’ve just had enough today! I think it's wonderful that they are testing the vaccine on young children. In our area, many of the young children getting vaccinated are kids of doctors and nurses. They want their children protected and they feel the vaccine is safe. My husband and I were thinking that if the vaccine is safe for people over the age of 100, wouldn't it be safe for kids? My husband's grandmother is 99 and very frail and had no issues with the vaccine. Maybe they just need to get the dose right? I hope they can vaccinate children soon! I worry about them as many adults are unvaccinated and don't wear masks. I hope the kids stay safe. |

The idea that this "school" is concerning themselves with a personal matter that is none of their business is cringeworthy to me! I would not feel comfortable sending my child (especially a female) anywhere near this place. And do they not understand is why do their want their students to get covid?

I live in Miami, have two kids in public school, and have never even heard of the Centner Academy. To my knowledge, this is a VERY minority viewpoint, and this is certainly not a school that is held in any kind of high regard in my neck of the woods. I know of many private and charter schools in Miami, and this is not one of them. A good thing, apparently...

Reading articles about this, it sounds like the school founders are more of believers in natural remedies for ailments. Not so much that they are conspiracy theorists like being flat-earthers, but they think natural products are the way to go. What is the word, holistic medicine? The articles mention meditation and yoga. I have friends who think that natural oils cure everything. They also think vaccines in general are not good for the body. Now, pushing the theory about vaccinated people affecting others menstrual cycle is totally wacko! Maybe I need to pay more attention to my friend’s posts and see if she ever mentions that.
ETA - just read the article above my post. This too! Holistic type medicine followers.
