Good morning. Today I have a Zoom appt. w/mil's dentist. She needs some dental work and is being very stubborn about it. Apparently, he's calling to strategize. tee-hee. Then I have a video appt. in the afternoon with my tummy specialist. I'll do some light housework and my puzzle in btwn. Dinner is chicken tarragon and rice pilaf w/a veggie. I might need to do my walk pretty soon.
What's on your menu?
Wishing everyone a day that brings you lots of reasons to smile. May this Thursday/Friday be a particularly good one for all.

Hi scrapmaven I'm having a good day today and it sounds like you have a few things on your agenda to keep you busy today too. Like you with your puzzle I am looking forward to sitting down with my crochet. I haven't picked it up in days now and I want to make some progress on my vacation yarn shawl. For those of you wondering, I did pick my DS up from the hospital Tuesday and things are looking up. I am thankful for your kindness, support, and prayers. This battle is not over yet but we are making progress. Tonight's dinner will be steak fajitas.

Good Morning! scrapmaven is your virtual appt about your upcoming surgery? jeremysgirl glad you are having a good day lady and that DS is out of the hospital. Sending continued good vibes for you both. Well our storms have passed for now, we will have gorgeous 75 degree sunny days till the next round on Sunday. I'm over this season! Dammit I wish basements were more common in OK. I'm ready for when it's 110 degrees and there's nothing to do but float in the pool all day. Greek was yummy last night, totally hit the spot. Tonight I think I'm going to make some stir fry.

I'm working this morning at school but will go home at lunch and work the afternoon there ... had a couple of meetings to attend today. I'm not sure what dinner will be tonight ... maybe Won Ton Soup ... haven't had that in a long time!

jeremysgirl - I hope things continue to move in the right direction for your DS. I have had a mixed day today. I woke late, so my early morning walk became a mid morning walk. I have also been battling my printer. For some reason, it doesn't want to print on 4x6 photo paper. It kept jamming, and at one point I thought I had broken something, as I couldn't get the paper tray back into position after removing a jam. Fortunately, the age old remedy of turning it off, then back on again did the trick. It still isn't printing on 4x6 paper, but I was able to print four 4x6 photos on one A4 page, so at least I have the photos I need for the page I want to do. Dinner tonight is tacos made with pulled pork. The pork has been in the slow cooker since this morning and is ready to shred. Everything else is last minute, once DH tells me he's coming home. It takes him about 20 minutes from the office to here, which is plenty of time to chop tomatoes and lettuce!

I am expecting a call today to schedule my mammogram and u/s.
Tonight will be chicken, Ina Garten's red potato salad, fruit salad, and raw veggies with dip (carrots, radishes, cucumber).

I made pasta salad with a ton of chopped vegetables and cut-up rotisserie chicken. It is delicious. Fruit salad, too. Happy to hear about your ds, jeremysgirl . Progress. Thanks for the thread, scrapmaven . Hoping for the best for MIL. Tell her you are the Queen. And the Empress. And the Grandest Poobahlette.

Thanks for the thread, scrapmaven . Hoping for the best for MIL. Tell her you are the Queen. And the Empress. And the Grandest Poobahlette. Then she'll tell me to shut up. Her canned speech when she doesn't want to go to a doctor or have another thing done is, "Nah. I'm 92. I'll just go bye-bye". She gave the dentist her canned speech and he just smiled at her and then told his assistant to set up a Zoom call w/me. Hehe. Little old ladies are no match for me!
PolarGreen12 , My appt is just my checkup w/my neuro-gi. She is the doctor in charge of my dysmotility. We'll discuss the fact that I still can't eat normally and I'm going to ask about an infusion that my nurse suggested. These appointments always end w/"there's nothing else we can do. Just hang in there." Blah blah blah. I'll feel sorry for myself for about 2 seconds and then get on w/life.
@sunnycamom , hoping you get scanned asap so that you can have peace of mind.
ETA: anyone who says that they're going bye-bye is way too feisty to go bye-bye.

I lost my mind last night when I was putting dinner leftovers away. My fridge is full and apparently ds isn't eating leftovers for lunch instead going to a drive through. So tonight we are having leftover pork chops, enchiladas, shepherds pie, sausages and potatoes, and corn. An eclectic array but there is enough there that no one will go hungry. I will have my fridge empty and about 10 tupperware containers emptied. jeremysgirl - I am happy your ds is doing so well @sunnycamom - hope you get your call and get in quick

I am meeting my friend (the Creative Memories consultant who does our crops) for lunch ~ I am beyond excited to see and hug her! Called the dentist to make an appointment to get my teeth cleaned ~ first available is in August! Guess everyone is heading back to the dentist. She put me on the cancellation list. Oh, and DH's tooth that broke the other day was part of his temporary crown. Whew! I think I'll grill a flank steak tonight.

I'm heading out for my second vaccine and then to pick up a few things for DD's Saturday birthday and Greek Easter. It will be a busy weekend coming up for us!
The planned dinner is a sheet pan with chicken sausages, potatoes, carrots, onions and beets. Plans may change if it gets too hot to turn on the oven.

Happy Thursday fellow tribe friends. It's been a whirlwind week and I'm so ready for the weekend. Work has been incredibly busy, Biden's ARPA COBRA act is causing nothing but headache and unaddressed scenarios for my work life. I send one e-mail, get 12 questions back in response, and those answers lead to 50 more questions. ugh. I met my neice, DIL and SIL for lunch today, so dinner will be light, I'm thinking flatbreads. jeremysgirl I'm glad your having a good day and that your son is on the right path. scrapmaven When my dad was nearing the end of his days I had numerous calls with his dentist. But in reverse, the dentist would suggest things my dad needed done and I'd have to call Tom, the dentist, a family friend and remind him that my dad was not long for this world and that thousands of 4 of dental work wasn't going to make a difference at this point. I felt like he was really just using my dad to put his daughter thru college. My dad always thought what Tom said was what he needed to have done. Your MIL sounds like my feisty grandmother that lived to be 98 and hating being in the home with all those " old" people. I love the spunk of the feisty older generation. Wishing everyone a great day!

You guys know how I am always surprised when dinner turns out well? It’s not a humble brag. I have oodles of ex-boyfriends and an ex husband who told me that I couldn’t cook. I mean plenty of guys. I am still surprised when something turns out great! Truly.

We ordered a Murphy bed for the cabin because a basement bedroom just isn’t in the budget after finding out how much more we owe in taxes. So we came up to work on it and I thought I’d finish my mud room project. Except I forgot the trim/shelf molding for the top of the board & batten at home. Messy painters were back and of course made more mess. 😡dH doesn’t want to hear anymore about it or complain anymore because he’s afraid they may vandalize something. It’s also raining all day here. I haven’t gone into town to the grocery store so we may get bbq from a local nearby. It’s NFL draft tonight so dh will monopolize the tv. I have zero interest in that. scrapmaven I hope your calls go well. jeremysgirl I’m glad your son is home. Hope you’re feeling ok. 🤞🏻 PolarGreen12 for no storms

teddyw , my bff has a murphy bed in the guestroom. When I stay there I find it quite comfortable. The only issue is that I keep expecting it to fold up on me, so that I'll be standing on my head w/a mattress in my face. It's a great choice for saving space.
hutchfan, your dinner sounds really comforting and yummy. Enjoy each bite.

Today hubby and I decided to take steps we have not taken in over a year. We went to our favorite diner for lunch and went inside a furniture store to buy some recliners we had seen online. I was still a little nervous but wore double masks and just took a deep breath when I was feeling my anxiety kick in.
For dinner we had a bowl of cereal.

Lunch with my friend was awesome! We hugged for a long time and sat at the restaurant eating and yakking from 11:30 until 1:30. We had so much to catch up on! I had a Chicken Caesar Salad that was so delicious I ate every bite and wanted to lick the plate!!
It felt so normal!

Not much going on here. Tonight is Tex-Amex salads and quesadillas. Keeping it light. Tomorrow I have another go at lithotripsy on the left side. I am tired of all this am hoping it all resolves. Scans show I still have stones on the right. UTI is resolving. But, in addition to everything else medically, I am worn out.
Jeremy’s girl, I am glad your son is home and things are going well. Remember to set bounds and stay positive.

I am so excited, because after a hot start to April, we've have cold and grey weather for the last couple of weeks. But for the next few days we'll be enjoying 24 C (75 F). Yippee! It really lifts my mood when there is sun and blue skies. Unfortunately I have to work all weekend, so I'm not going to be able to make the most of it. And we are only 4 weeks away from winter, so I daresay this will be the last of the warm weather for the next five months or so. I was working late, so the boys went and got Chinese takeaway. I put some aside for when DD got home from work, but she had something else. So I will have the leftovers for lunch.
