I had a tkr in November. I am flaring all over and my knee hurts like hell and is stiff. Can you still get RA flares there even if you have a joint replacement?

I don't know much about how RA can be affected by a replacement but I'm sorry you are hurting. I had a lthr in December and the recovery is bad enough without having to deal with RA symptoms.

The RA impacts more than just the bone. A TKR replaces the bone parts but not the soft tissue parts that can cause the stiffness and pain.

Yes you can. Remember RA is able to attack any/everything. Organs, blood vessels, ligaments, synovial fluid/membranes. I am sorry you are hurting.

I have been blessed with a pretty easy recovery. My range of motion was back completely at 2 months & I had very little pain. I was so surprised. I hope your recovery is going well.

Thank you everyone for your replies. It hard to think when in pain. I iced it and that helped. My dr also put me on a prednisone taper.
Thank you again!

I don’t have RA, but have had two knee replacements because of osteoarthritis. I was told before the first one that there is no guarantee of being totally pain free after the surgery and recovery - because there can still be issues with muscles and tendons that cause stiffness and pain.
