I am not a fan.
I admit - she and her family are marketing wizards. They hit upon a 'moment' in pop culture and have milked it for all it's worth. It's rare to pass a rack of gossip rags without seeing one of their faces staring out. They get credit from me for being smart business people.
But I can't see anything redeeming there beyond business savvy and the willingness to exploit themselves. There's no talent, no creativity, no charitable impulses, etc. I've never seen the show beyond clips on The Soup, but it seems to be all just one shopping trip accented by fake feuding and wine guzzling. They are such a waste.

I will join -people flamed me for a civics lesson in another thread when I named the Supreme Court justices - but to be honest with you, I think most Americans can name more Kardashians than Supreme Court justices, let alone senators, congressmen, etc.... which makes me sick! You really don't quit. You got flamed for a civics lesson, as you say. What inspired you to play teacher? What made you assume you know more than the other peas here? This sort of behavior is what makes everyone react this way to you. It's not your politics or your leanings, it's your superior attitude.

Not a fan of Kim or the Kardashians either. I'm also not convinced that Kim is a "workaholic". Just because she says she is and because she flies all over the place doesn't make it so. I don't think Kim knows what real work is. Same with Paris. She was not left without an inheritance; her inheritance was simply reduced. She still gets a TON of money from her family. Her "work" involves endorsing things. I mean if I could make millions that way, sure I'd take it. But I wouldn't pretend it was hard work. That's insulting to people who truly do work hard. I can still remember when Paris had to do community service for her drug arrest and how obnoxious she was about *gasp* having to wake up to do it. Tina Fey and the rest of the cast also talks about how terrible she was to work with on SNL This board is probably the first place I've seen someone claim Applause to this! But it got cut off mid-sentence, I hope you will finish it!

I have made a general comment about the state of America's current obsession with celebrity. You apparently have your knickers twisted so tight over something as trivial as a board post. You are mistaking confidence for superiority - no wonder women have it so tough in this world if confidence is deemed an undesirable trait.

Sive watched part of a couple of episodes to see what was so awesome about the family. But they're so mean to each other. One episode had them recreating a sex tape and tricking Bruce. It's so mean whether it's scripted or not that I tuned out.

I've never watched their show or even heard her speak. I have zero interest in any of these reality shows. I'm not letting them into my house.

THANK YOU!!!! I refuse to watch anything, read anything or buy anything that has a reference to her. I, obviously, am not a fan! This is me. I cannot stomach them! And, it's sickening how they are all over the place. Just goes to show you that you don't have to have class, or anything else to be rich. I mean wth? Who names their kid North? ?

You might have to revoke my pea-card, because I actually like the show. I think it's entertaining in a Real Housewives sort of way. I know a lot of it is scripted, but to me they come across as a very supportive (maybe too much) family on the show. This. And you can't have my Pea card.

She will never get a cent of my money. I cannot contribute to the wealth of such a vapid moron. Never watched her show, never bought a magazine with her in it, will never buy a product that has her name on it (even though that handbag was so gorgeous!).

justkallie, Truly confident people actually have what it takes - you don't. Confidence means recognizing one's advantages and not using them to bludgeon others. You are a simple-minded jackass. No one gives two shits about the names of everyone in Congress unless it is their business to know. Do you know all the names of the vice presidents at GM? NO!?! What a disgrace! Being invested in the knowledge of who runs this country would mean that one should know MORE who runs GM than members of Congress, but of course, you already knew that, right? Didn't think so.

"She yelled at him and called him a loser and told him to get a job and stop living off his sisters in a very recent episode. They were having a family dinner. That's pretty vicious teasing. She has told her sisters that they're just jealous of her in several episodes."
Yes but you also have to realize this is a reality show that has to come up with story lines and drama to make it interesting.

I agree with you on this. While I don't endorse them and am not a fan, I do have to give them credit for marketing themselves to this point. It did not come without work. So while they don't sing or dance, they obviously have some marketing/business skills that keep them going.

If you think that insults will provoke me to respond in a manner that I do not find befitting or will find myself regretting, I am sorry to disappoint you. Your actions will continue to speak for themselves, and right now, the volume is deafening.

In all fairness the Kardashians did not invent the obsession with youth, money and celebrity. It's been a national tradition for 300 years. And I doubt people hand her stacks of cash for laying in bed all day. She probably does work very hard.

I agree with you but keep in mind that's only for a year. If Meryl Streep isn't in a big movie that particular year, she doesn't make do much. I love SK but I'd bet in certain years he really raked it in too. But, I do agree that the Ks are pretty much useless. I do not wstch them.

Paris' inheritance was reduced from $100 million to $5 million, which is the same value of her house so she still has to work for money. It may not be 9-5 work, but recently she's gotten into Dj-ing and travels the world doing so. Look at Tori Spelling, when you're rich, you need to stay rich to continue your lifestyle or else it's defestating. lol

Trust me, I am far too confident to care what people may written about me. I do find it amusing how viscous the attacks can be when someone presents a differing opinion.
I will say that if you think repeated attacks on me, my character or my opinions will cause me to bend, break or leave, I must say you will be sorely disappointed.
So attack away if you feel you must. Won't bother me a whit - and that's the last I have to say about it.

What's in that water? You can't blame them for cashing in on the public's obsession with them. If the public didn't want to see and hear about them and the magazines and gossip blogs weren't promoting them then they would fade bck into the hills they came from.

You can sort of revoke my pea card too. I somewhat agree with Annabella. Not that they are necessarily "nice" or "sweet" but they've built a lot of enterprises and regardless of being famous for nothing, they've been savvy enough to create themselves into a brand. That is impressive in it's own right. Admirable? That's a different story.
Love 'em or hate 'em, what it boils down to is they are publicity stunt queens. And they are good at it.
