I know there's quite a few pure coconut oil users on the board. So what's a good, reliable brand? Especially if one is interested in using it for cooking and otherwise ingesting it? And it would be great if it's a brand available on Amazon.

I don't currently eat coconut oil, but use it for other things, mainly as a moisterizer for my skin and hair. The kind I like the best comes in a glass jar from Trader Joe's and is Virgin Coconut Oil. If you are planning to cook with it and ingest it I suggest checking out this ladies blog at http://www.foodbabe.com. I've learned tons of information from her about really figuring out what is in food products and how to read food labels. How to tell what to look out and what too avoid. You can go there and read about what she has to say about coconut oil. I know she is a huge follower of using it. I hope that helps.

I use Nutiva Coconut oil. I use it for everything. Cooking, eating (when I remember), and as a moisturizer.

Also a fan of Nutiva for cooking and baking. The first brand I bought was Spectrum which I use as a moisturizer.

I'm another fan of Nutiva and love that I can get it at Costco.

Nutiva here too. I buy it on Amazon with prime. We get the big jars since we use it for everything.

Does the Nutiva have a coconut odor? I'm looking for one that does, I want to make some salt scrub and would like a slight coconut smell.

I only use Nature's Way raw, organic virgin coconut oil. Fabulous! I cook with it and have a jar in the kitchen and another in the bathroom.

I buy LouAnna brand (probably regional) right off the shelves at Walmart.
GASP!
It doesn't really have an odor or a flavor and I've got no complaints about it at all.

The LouAnna brand doesn't have enough smell for that, but I bet it would take scent pretty well. I love good ingredient skin care products and I wouldn't hesitate to use this instead of a more expensive brand for a scrub.
