We had a basic brown stew over rice. It smelled so good while simmering. And I love having leftovers for our lunches this week!

DH is cooking tonight, making Jambalaya.
Not my favorite, but I'll eat it.
The hard part, is that there will be a lot of leftovers, and I usually eat leftovers for lunch throughout the week. But I'm not going to eat this up. One night I'll do, but not a week. I'm hoping my daughter will finish it for after school snacks. Otherwise it will get tossed.

That's what I've heard it called my whole life. Is that not a common name? It was just stew beef, onions, potatoes, carrots, etc in a brown sauce -- a regular old stew.

we had Hungarian goulash with potatoes. our friends brought dinner over as I am still recovering from surgery.
it was amazing!
she also makes the best chocolate chip cookies! it's amazing that there are 2 left!
