Does anyone remember the hot fudge that came in a can in the 70's and 80's? I always thought it was Hershey's, but I can't find it when I google. It came in a can very similar to Hershey's syrup and I think it had the same yellow lid. It was not syrup though, it was thick hot fudge. I am remembering a picture of an ice cream sundae on the can.
I know this is completely random, but I am hoping someone remembers this besides me!

I remember it coming in a can. Don't remember the sundae on the label but it is possible. Now that I look it up on Google I am doubting my memory since I see it in jars.

Are you talking about U-bet syrup? It's not fudge but the container had yellow on it. No, we don’t have that here (west coast) and it was absolutely thick and not syrup. We had to heat it up.

I know it was a can because it had the same type lid as the syrup, that is what makes me think of Hershey’s. My grandpa would let me lick the lid but my gramma wouldn’t because she was worried I would cut my tongue. At least in my potentially made up memory! I remember the label being somewhat tan with a sundae in an old fashioned ice cream glass bowl.

I know we didn’t buy cans that big, and the label doesn’t match my memory, but I am going to google “chocolate fudge” I had been googling hot fudge. Thank you for the link.

Yes I remember. I just googled the question. Did Hershey syrup ever come in a can? Looked under images and it’s the first picture I see.

I only remember Hershey’s. Maybe the canned version was thicker?

That's just the regular syrup and the fudge stuff was thicker, if I recall.

i was the queen of chocolate when i was a kid ... maybe i still am. i remember hershey's syrup in a can (have some now ... not in a can anymore.) i only remember hot fudge being in a jar, like smucker's now. idk if the brand was smucker's back then or not.
the best hot fudge sauce in at baskin robbins!
there is a hershey's hot fudge if you google it. so maybe there WAS one in a can back then.

I feel like I remember this being out when we had ice cream but I didn’t pay a ton of attention because I actually don’t like fudge sauce! I would have thought it was Hershey’s as well. Maybe it was another variation of Hershey’s only sold for a short period of time?

Sorry their response didn’t match up with your memory. I hate when that happens.
I only saw Hershey’s syrup in a can once. My next door neighbor had it. Funny I haven’t thought of her in forever. Then yesterday I was out walking and came across some buttercups. And she was the only person I thought of. 😊

I remember it too. I thought it was Hershey's as well. Hmmmm Ditto. I can see the image in my brain right now, and I remember using a can opener to pierce it open and then licking the opener. LOL! It was Hershey's.

I have a vague memory of it, and I also think that it was Hershey’s. ETA: Patter found it; guess it was syrup that I remember.
