I’m looking for one for my mother (not for Mother’s Day). She’s asked me to research them and I decided that Pea recommendations are more reliable than Amazon reviews! Her home is mostly hardwood with minimal rugs, there are two bedrooms with carpet. So... What kind do you have? Love it or hate it? Why?
And any other information you think I need to know.
Thanks in advance!!

I have a roomba. I have the one that just wanders and usually gets everything. Spending the extra money on one that maps wasn't where we wanted to spend our money.

I have a Roomba and I like it okay - it does need a bit of 'tending' when it gets stuck.
I have a Dyson Animal Ball and I like it, too.
But my *love* is my Dyson V11 cordless stick vacuum. Super lightweight. Does my hardwoods, slate, tile, and carpets. The heads swap out easily for handheld vacuuming. And, best of all, you can buy a rotating mop head attachment (aftermarket and not made by Dyson) that is the bomb for doing my kitchen and especially the slate floor entryway. The dark gray slate shows dog hair and footprints badly so being able to pop on the mop head and tackle is quickly is a major plus.
Unless she just has to have a robotic vacuum that's hands off, I'd highly recommend the Dyson stick. There's little to no weight to it and it's really easy to empty.

I have a shark robo vac and it works fine but I've been finding myself grabbing my Hoover cordless Lynx to do quick sweeps because it's definitely quicker. ETA check out the ad that appears at bottom of thread page. Big brother is watching😉 no surprise, just easily amused.

I have a Eufy that I bought on Amazon. I think it does a good job. I use it in between real cleanings. For whatever reason, my house has alot of dust and dirt (probably from my dog going in and out) and the container fills up after one go around in my kitchen. My only complaint is it gets stuck under my sofas, but that could happen to any robot. Not sure I would buy one again though. It is much quicker to get out my Dyson cordless vac.
