Abbott found the dollars for his and former's wall.

Calling his plans to complete the building of Donald Trump's border wall "ludicrous," the editorial board of the Austin -American Statesman hammered Gov. Greg Abbott in a biting editorial on Sunday morning.

..... Abbott proposed raising money to finish the job with a scheme that the paper's editorial board bluntly called "a half-baked, Go-Fund-Me effort that should make all Texans cringe."

Noting that the governor is doing nothing about the state's power grid problems that led to deaths from a killing freeze last winter and now energy outages as the state bakes from a heatwave, the editorial called out, "Abbott's acts of political theater at the border, advancing his 2022 reelection bid and possible White House aspirations."

"Although he is inviting private donations for the wall, the governor is using real taxpayer money — moving $250 million out of the state prison budget — to get the ball rolling, starting with hiring a project manager," the paper reported. "And while Abbott says he wants to work with Texans eager to donate their land for a border wall, many landowners along the border have fought such a project for years — meaning Texas would face years of expensive litigation if it tried to make a border wall a reality."

Citing the many problems with getting the wall finished -- including building it on land that is privately owned -- the editors pointed out, "Trump never understood any of that. But the governor of Texas does."

What happened to I pledge allegiance to the flag? What happened to the Republic?

Senator Rick Scott said he had never heard the Pledge of Allegiance before?!?   Where and when did he go to school, for gosh sakes?!?

(and FTR, America was not founded on Christianity, and the Pledge did NOT have the phrase 'under God' in until the McCarthy era in the 1950s... I hate that they added that.)

Cruz got called out by Princeton historian.. maybe he is not so loved at his former university!

As Princeton historian Kevin Kruse writes at MSNBC, Cruz's comparison is nonsensical given that critical race theory is an academic concept while the KKK was a terrorist organization that has been responsible for political violence throughout the United States.

What's more, Kruse notes that the Texas senator's attempt to equate critical race theory with the KKK echoes arguments made in the 1950s and 1960s by segregationist politicians who would often argue that the Klan and civil rights activists were both two sides of the same extremism coin.

Jen seems to forget that this time last year the majority of states were still in lockdown. 

That’s her point. Gas was low last year, not due to the President, but to the fact that no one was going anywhere. Now it is back to where it was before the pandemic.

She didn’t say last year, she said 2018. That was long before the pandemic.  

No I don’t think the election was stolen, never did. Do I think there was fraud, possibly but not widespread and certainly not anywhere near enough to overturn the election.  Trump has been beating on that dead horse for so long it’s now 6 feet under.  

I was referring to her unemployment comment.  She should have used the same year for her unemployment comparison.  She didn’t since it was around 4% in 2018. Comparing last year to this year is ridiculous, of course unemployment was going to come down as the country opened up and people went back to work.  It was inevitable that gas prices were going to go up, we knew that the minute Biden was elected.  He made it perfectly clear during the campaign that he was going to shut down the Keystone pipeline and kill the oil and gas leases.  

As if we don't have to worry about just the Republicans, there are too many others .. Pohlhaus want to set Maine up to be an all white state.... He has some really outrages ideas... Like recruiting sharpshooters to pick off trucks driver to interrupt the economy as well as terrify people all over!!

Schumer should have issued the apology himself, not through one of his aides.  He made the remark, he needs to own it.  You wouldn’t have accepted an apology from Trump and you sure as hell wouldn’t t have stood for it coming from one of his aides.  As for any pre-schooler knowing better, I guess that makes Schumer nothing more than a pre-schooler himself.
