I tried searching for info about Shimelle's "True Stories" class but was only finding stuff about a product collection called that.
Can anyone tell me about this class, their thoughts on it or experiences with it? I'd also be interested to hear about her Love Your Pictures, Love Your Pages class as well.
I am fine journaling and taking pictures but what I would hope to get out of these classes is being able to take my skills up a few notches. I feel like my scrapbooking is kinda utilitarian and I'd like to be able to continue to tell my everyday stories while making for more interesting reading/viewing. Would these help me with that?
Also, does Shimelle ever have sales on her classes for those of us pinching our pennies?
Thank you!

Also, does Shimelle ever have sales on her classes for those of us pinching our pennies? She doesn't do sales that I'm aware of. I would say any of her classes are totally worth the money if you like her style. I know that's not much help for your specific question but the couple of classes I took I really liked, but I've diverged from 12x12 pages to pocket pages/traveler's notebook size albums so I haven't taken any recent ones.

I haven't done True Stories although I do have it in my class library. I didn't purchase it so I'm guessing it must have been included with another class as some stage. I've just had quick flip through the first couple of pdfs and think the content seems well thought out and presented, with multiple guest contributors. From the little bit I've read in these prompts I think this class might give you some ideas on different ways you can tell your stories. In one of these prompts she says often we only think of a few basic formats for our writing. It’s easy to limit ourselves to either a few short sentences, a long column written in paragraphs or if we’re feeling a bit more creative or hurried, then a list before leading in to other ways to tell your stories, which seems like it might fit what you're looking for.
It might actually be worth reaching out to her directly if you can't find any good reviews, I'm sure she'd be happy to tell you if this class will meet your needs.
She does very occasionally do sales on her classes, but there is no rhyme or reason when (ie they're not linked to nsd or other typical sales periods) and sometimes it will only be on selected classes, not her whole back catalogue.

Thanks very much to you both! That's a good idea, maybe I will reach out to her. Also hi to an Aussie! I'm American but my husband is (South) Australian. We're in the States for now but will probably move to Australia for retirement, if not sooner. Hope you're did alright with the lockdown!
