I am 48 years old and had no idea-no earthly clue-that there was so much about showering and periods and tampons going on. Never. The rock I live under must be bigger than I ever knew. same here except I'm 44...I've obviously led a sheltered life since no one I know irl talks about these things...at least not to me You know how they say you learn something new every day? That's the beauty of having a forum about anything and everything. Those that are so delicate that reading about functions of the human body: Simple solution...don't open the thread. Funny story; when I first started using tampons, decades ago, I just read the instruction paper that came with them. I was 13, I think. At that point in life, I didn't know that there was a separate opening that pee came out of, so I thought I had to remove my tampon every time I went pee, lol. My mom asked why I was going through so dang many tampax. We got it all sorted out, but I still chuckle when I think about my young naive self.

I always take the tampon out when I shower. I like the get the soap and wash rag all up in my lady garden and clean it...toss water up on it to. It's the only way I feel clean. My friend was telling me how she tucks her string in her lady part lips and it never gets wet when she pees or showers. oh my!!! I really want to respond about your friend's comment but I just can't think of a nice way to put it. Lol yeah I really didnt know what to say.
