Good morning. Thanks for the good thoughts yesterday. Easy shot, but I was sedated a bit more than usual and I was very relaxed for hours afterward. Today I'm feeling hungover. I'll cook dinner, but I'm not sure what to make.
What's on your menu?
Wishing everyone a happy day w/one fun thing that will make you smile.

I'm in overdrive getting ready for an overnight trip to Lake Tahoe in the morning. We have a friend who has a condo on the water on the north shore so we're meeting her to eat lunch and play golf then we'll meander to south shore to spend the night. It's going to be COLD and windy. Gotta get the jackets and gloves out... Dinner tonight will be air fried chicken breasts with a veggie and a fruit salad.

scrapmaven - I hope your’hangover’ doesn’t last too long. I have had a relaxing day - acupuncture early, then home and a long walk. I am now watching the French Open tennis on TV and knitting until DH gets home from work. It is a bit amusing at the moment - he works for a hygiene company (TP, sanitary products, plasters, diapers etc) and they have a new project looking at the needs of women ‘of a certain age’. I must be the only woman whose DH is late home because of his ‘menopause workshop’! Dinner tonight will be Greek marinated lamb, served with pita breads, tzatziki, hummus and salad. DH will just have to cook the meat when he gets home. Everything else is ready to go.

Good morning scrapmaven. Sorry for the hangover feeling, but I hope it least it helped you sleep well I'm having a slow day at work today. I simply don't have a whole lot of work to do today. We had a meeting for everyone in the financial office today. Our director said that our department head is looking at us going back to work. The focus seems to have shifted from the idea that we will continue working from home to there will be some kind of hybrid situation going back in. So many of my coworkers were disappointed. I was pretty pleased with that information. I'm ready to go back for sure. Not full-time, but definitely part time. I had two of those Jimmy Dean sausage and pancake on a stick things for breakfast this morning. I have to say they are like my processed food guilty pleasure. I don't normally eat a bunch of crap like that. But I love those damn things and I bought a whole box of them. Anyone else have a processed junk guilty pleasure they want to share? I will take time for me today. I plan to break for lunch and work on some scrapbooking. And then do so after work. I have laid out everything on my dining room table. So I can work little by little. But today I have no where to go. So I'll just play around a bit. Dinner tonight will be gyros. I bought a nice kit. All I have to add is tomato and onion. I haven't had a good gyro since my office cafeteria closed for covid. I miss that place.

Thank you sueg . I'll rest, use heat for the after pain and all will be good. cadoodlebug , have a wonderful getaway. What a beautiful time to go to Tahoe. Then again, anytime is a beautiful time to go. ITA w/your meme. I never play those games online.
WTG- jeremysgirl . Enjoy scrapbooking. Dh thinks that he'll be hybrid, as well. He likes the idea of a part-time office, part-time home. He did it for years and it works well for us.

sueg, you might want to let your hubby know that menopause is a natural stage of life and that you'll be understanding of his moods and hot flashes. Enjoy acupuncture. Bliss.

So I was at the hospital ER yesterday. Got home around 12am. Looks like the stress of everything got the best of me. Got IV fluids, some kids, lots of tests and was cleared to go home. No minor or major issues. Just stress wreaking havoc on my conditions.
Finally able to eat some home potatoes for breakfast and continuing to drink a lot of fluids.
I will be having vegetable soup and dh and dd will have taco salads.

@sunnycamom, stress is a major factor in triggering chronic illness symptoms. Perhaps it's time to try some alternative ways to relax? I'm going to preach acupuncture and possibly therapy. You have so much on your plate that you need a soft place to land.

@sunnycamom hugs to you. It's amazing what stress can do to a person isn't it? It wreaks havoc with my mental illness. I'm still in recovery mode too. Take care of yourself.

You have so much on your plate that you need a soft place to land. I have looked into it for dd and myself. Insurance does not cover it and right now that $70-90 per visit it just isn't something I want to pay for right now since we are paying OOP for ds' formula. Right now I am dealing with IRC, disabilities rights group, law firm, CCS/GI clinic, medical records AND making sure dd's IgG med is covered for the next 6 months. And dh can't help. I would love to have help but he doesn't know all the diagnosis that ds has or who to contact or what to ask for or what to say...being ds and dd primary care giver its on me. Always on me.

Good Tuesday morning my friends! Thank you to everyone for your caring thoughts yesterday! I am finally starting to feel slightly better. I had another apt about my eye surgery yesterday and as part of the pre-op I have to have an apt with my GP, so I'll be seeing her early next week and am definitely going to mention the lack of energy. One of you lovely ladies, Sorry,I'm too lazy to go back and open that thread to find out exactly who, asked if I have intentionally lost weight and yes, I have, I've just been really watching carbs and eating healthy, but I think in the last week of not feeling well, I didn't eat enough, so last night I ordered Japanese noodles and chicken, veg stir fry and didn't allow myself to feel guilty. I'll finish it off for lunch. brandy327 My hugs and prayers for your daughter, how horrible that she has to go thru this. I hope they find answers. Have they mentioned doing a chest/abdomen CT? I would push for them to explore options outside of digestive. jeremysgirl Enjoy your quiet day with time to scrapbook. My office is still debating how to handle the return to office. I'm hoping I can remain remote, but I suspect I'll have to go into the office 2 days a week. My hope is that there will be enough co workers that are in your opinion and they "fill" the office. I am also so glad that Esther is home, are her roommates supportive of her and understand without adding to the challenges she is facing right now? Absolutely all of my very best vibes for her and her precious momma! sueg I chuckled at the Menopause workshop keeping your husband late to work. That is the perfect dinner party chatter after a few drinks. :-) cadoodlebug Enjoy your get away- Tahoe is so beautiful and peaceful. scrapmaven my continued healing thoughts with you. Have an easy day! you deserve it. DH is coming back to the ranch today, so I have to plan dinner. I am leaning toward a ham and veggine Frittata with a green salad for dinner. My processed guilty pleasure is a banquet chicken pot pie. I love them! When I was a teen, my parents would go out to dinner on Friday or Saturday night and that was my choice for dinner, I still have one occasionally. Wishing everyone a fabulous day!!

@sunnycamom I hope it starts to resolve for you
Ohio has a program called Bureau for children with medical handicaps? It kicks in after insurance & Medicaid or no insurance. Property taxes fund it. It covers chronic illness only. I used to do nursing visits for them. The paperwork is ridiculous but it really helps. Does California have something like that?
I haven’t read all of yesterday’s thread.
I have a long day of work, hair appt then finish that stupid blanket. Tomorrow is dh’s birthday and I have done nothing. Hopefully I can get to the bakery sometime today or tomorrow but it’s not looking good They’re only open 9-2. Not conducive to work.
Dinner will be in the car I’m sure.

That might be like our CCS - Ca Childrens Services. Ds had it for a year after being a NICU baby who failed hearing screens. We tried previously and were denied. But GI said it may be because he has so many qualifying diagnosis.

I want to pay for right now since we are paying OOP for ds' formula. I know you have told us but my memory sucks. What is your son's conditions that he cannot eat?? (sorry if I am being nosy) Not sure what is for dinner. Trying to deal with some stress...my mom had the Pool guy come today to open the pool (ie. put the steps in, shock it, make sure the pump/filter works) and the pump shit the bed. So he had to go buy a new one. Yesterday she had to buy a new dryer and last week it was a new covering for the awning. So I take the brunt of her "I am going to lose my mind" conversations. She has the $$ but I think she feels guilty spending it. I keep reminding her that there are no pockets in coffins and if dad was alive all of these things would have needed fixing too.

I want to pay for right now since we are paying OOP for ds' formula. I know you have told us but my memory sucks. What is your son's conditions that he cannot eat?? (sorry if I am being nosy). Gastroparesis Mega colon Intestinal psuedo-obstruction syndrome Short bowel syndrome (while his small bowel is intact, it does not function). Low motility of stomach and all intestines Severe allergies, some what they call GI allergies meaning when food gets to a certain point, he reacts. Hemicolectomy (removed a good portion of his large intestine) So basically while he can put food into his mouth, he is limited to what he can eat due to allergies and any food gets stuck, not digested and causes severe illness, a trip to Children's, an NG tube for clean out, and infection. His body was able to figure itself out enough that he can orally drink. He is a rare case and only a handful of kids have been able to do well on oral feeds. Majority are on g-tube/jg-tube and or TPN feeds.

Hi Everyone, scrapmaven I am glad that the shot relaxed you yesterday; but I know that the feeling hung over must be affecting your day. cadoodlebug Enjoy Tahoe. As for your meme. The minute that I read it, I copied the picture, opened Facebook and wrote: Here’s one everyone should follow. This is why I never participate in questions on Facebook and why you shouldn’t either. Then I posted your meme. I have friends who answer those questions all the time. I hope that they read it and stop doing it. jeremysgirl Time for you today is important! Enjoy your scrapbooking. @sunnycamom I am sorry to read about your ER visit. austnscrapaddict I am happy that you are going to see your GP next week. Well my huge, gigantic vanity came in today and the contractors aren’t even starting on my bathroom until July. And because it is so stinking hot here today; my DH and boys got the palettes into the garage; but had to take a break to cool down, before they open anything. Tonight we will have corn on the cob, salad and I am unsure which type of meat. I want chicken, but I might get overruled. I am keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers. Have a great day!

His medical formula is somewhat like pre-digested and formulated in a way that he just takes nutrients and it moves along without the need of his GI system properly functioning.

He has had barium swallow studies, barium rectal studies, CT scans, MRIs, endoscopies and colonoscopies with and without biopsies, biopsies of large intestine for Hurshbrungs Disease, ring swallow studies, a-tube surgery with subsequent removal, nerve tests, and this weird water test where a tune with holes is placed in up through rectum and water is squirted to see how intestines react.
