I'm glad other peas are having better luck donating to organizations. I asked a school teacher and she said they don't allocate much time for art projects anymore. I found a reuse (can't remember the name) arts store and they didn't want any more scrap supplies. My easiest option is a thrift store.

Just a thought for those random stickers that you can't use on your layouts (you know the ones, either too themey, not your taste, etc), I use them on mail! To decorate envelopes when sending a bday card, or whatever kind of card. I do the same. They make a nice addition to the back of mailed cards, and the front when I give in person. Or I tuck a cut out sticker in the card. Kids LOVE stickers, although I don't give them to toddlers. Only kids old enough to use judgement on where is a good place to stick a sticker. Yup! I'll throw an entire strip of CM stickers in the cards too if I think the person might enjoy them. When my niece lost a tooth, I included a strip of dentist stickers that why on earth would I need dentist stickers? But a 6 year old would love them for the tooth fairy!

Don't ask me - I haven't paper scrapped for about ten years now, and I still can't bring myself to get rid of any of my 12x12 paper. Anybody want any Bazzill cardstock or Basic Grey paper? I did finally get rid of most of my embellishments last year. DSO works three days a week at a Catholic primary school, and he took it in to give to the art teachers. I kept some of my Prima flowers, because I loved(d) them so much.

Anybody want any Bazzill cardstock or Basic Grey paper? Depending on what BG collections you have paper from I'd be interested if you want to sell.

I cut up my sticker sheets and break down my die cut packs and store them by colour so I see things only as individual pieces rather than a pack and I find that makes it much easier to get rid of the things I'll just never use. For me there's a mental block that says "but I still have 1/4 of the pack" that makes me think I need to use more of it, but in my colour storage I don't really know how much of any given pack I have left.

I don't keep entire sticker sheets after a while. I cut off the images I think I might use, then store those by theme or color. There are always some images on a sheet I'll never use, so I toss those. I'm getting better at purging supplies. I have a friend who will gladly take paper. I am tossing Thickers missing too many letter. I don't know why it's harder to toss crafty supplies than other things in my house. I saw on a video by Laura Alberts that she uses those mostly used thickers as an alternative to foam on the back of photos for dimension. I thought it was pretty clever way to make use of them. That is a great idea. I'll try that, too.

We are getting ready to move again so I gave 2 big bags away. Two people picked up a bag for their kid that likes to craft. Giving it away makes me feel so much better about it. It’s hard to throw it away.

I know I've got Color Me Silly. I can't remember what else off the top of my head. I can't check at the moment because we have no power, and I'm sitting here in the cold and dark, hot spotting off my phone. Did you lose power too, or are you okay out your way?

Thank you, that’s more than generous ❤️ We didn’t lose power thankfully, although I was worried some of the gum trees around us might have lost branches in the wind. My sister is out your way and lost power last night and said they were predicting it might take until Sunday to get it back. She was extremely relieved to find it was back on by the time she got home from work. I hope your connection is restored soon.

If I have anything other than scraps (that I toss) I donate or give to someone. I know many people who look for things at thrift stores because it is impossible for them to buy anymore.
I picked up an iris tote for $5 that was filled with beach themed stuff. Score for me and someone else was able to ditch their unwanted stuff.

I also sub to pipsticks and the stickers i know i will never use i toss in the tub...
The tub is for my grandchildren to play thru when they come over... keeps them out of my good stuff... lol

I don't know why it's harder to toss crafty supplies than other things in my house. Same! It's way harder to purge craft supplies. I have a couple of strategies that I use (with varying degrees of success): Use my favorites first After I've used a good portion of a kit, I take a hard look at the remaining supplies. Anything I'm unlikely to use goes in the donate box (or trash if it's mostly used up) instead of going in my stash for a mythical "someday". Keep a donate bin in my craft room & a large trash bin. I have a "use-by date" in my head. If things are more than a year old or two, unless I still would buy it now, it goes in the donate bin. I keep a list on my phone of what I need to repurchase so I'm less likely to buy more than I need. I also did a big purge clean-out recently and actually worked with an organizer. I got ruthless with my supplies and did a big purge. I think investing all that time, money, and energy into making my space functional for both work and creating, will help me keep a better handle on my space.

For the last few stickers on a sheet or little things like that - I know all about keeping them because you might need them, but in that scenario would you even remember that you had them? would you be able to find them? and if you discovered you didn't have just the right sticker would you find a way to manage without it? Having some kind of leftover sticker/die cut binder (like RTS scrapbooking uses) might make it so that you can actually use those last few useful stickers, or the hassle of transferring them all might convince you they aren't worth it. And here's another way to look at it - if these things are getting in your way, sapping energy or cluttering your space, is keeping ALL of them worth it to balance the pain/hassle of accidentally getting rid of a couple of stickers that you later realize you can use? ( this video might explain that idea better) Stickers that are fun but not useful can be nice gifts for little kids (if you know any). I just cut them out and give them an envelope full. Crafty Jen Schow started making sticker layouts in her old smashbooks when she was too low on mojo to scrap, grouping them by color or theme, just for fun. I did that with some stickers that made me happy but didn't work well on cards. I do have trouble letting go of things I think I can use, but I also don't have the energy to use up every last thing I have. I'd rather give the useful stuff away so I have room for some breathing space and the new things that will keep coming out, and I'd rather the things get used by someone who will enjoy them. And the more I have the less I can find what I actually want to use. I can't keep track of it all, so if I don't know I have it, what's the point?

I don't keep a super large stash going so things I know I probably won't use goes into an iris case for later. I basically have "christmas" and "everything else" boxes going. When I feel like I have enough I'll throw the random bits into a priority box and post on a fb group or somewhere that I have a bunch of xyz and whoever wants to pay shipping can have it.
Something like a sticker sheet with a couple things left would probably go into the trash, but something that I feel just isn't 'me' anymore? Someone else can definitely use it.

Occasionally, when trying to decide whether to pitch embellishments/stickers, I will go back through my completed albums that have a similar theme or vibe, looking for pages that need a little extra something.
I usually use up a few bits and bobs which makes me feel like I gave those things a good effort. I am more likely to let go after that.
I also make a few random greeting cards to use up supplies, but usually remember that I don't like making cards. This makes it easier to toss things, as well!

Do you have trouble throwing things away? I am a relatively small stash scrapper. I have amassed way too much stuff for my own comfort level at this point but I'm having a hard time coming to terms with the idea of throwing things away. I am considering starting small with my scraps and stickers that are just hanging around doing nothing. But I'm considering much more sweeping clean out. Including past kits that I know I will not likely use again. Do you do this on the regular? Are you the type that just holds onto everything "just in case?" I'm just wondering how you guys deal with stashes that are overtaking your craft rooms. GREAT! I went out to the shop to see what needed thinned out and decided on stamps. I went thru them all and decided to purge some, and ended up re-organizing all of them into DVD cases ( I had to order another 50), and of course I had to find boxes to store the cases in ( need 6 but they come in lots of 25). Then I have to rearrange the shop to accommodate the changes. It's a hobby.

I keep meaning to make a layout titled, “Stickers I Will Never Use,” with all the ones about motherhood, children, and all the other things that aren’t a part of my life. I’m tired of seeing them hanging around on their half-used sheets. I’ve done a couple of purges over the years, but there’s one sheet of paper I don’t like and I can’t imagine why I bought it. It has a green background, with ants and watermelon slices. I’m pretty sure it’s from the late 90s. I’m determined to use it some day. Remember how everyone used to talk about and dis “spaghetti paper”? The ant/watermelon paper is on that level, but I will use it some day!

I try and sell stuff on Ebay. I just put it as a lot of crafting supplies- some new, some used. Make sure you put product as is, no returns, no exchanges and all sales final. Just put it all in a box, weigh it and then post it. You would be amazed at how much stuff I have gotten rid of! So then I don't feel bad about moving stuff out. Plus it pays for the new stuff that I want. Make sure to list as buy it now. It may not sell right away but eventually it will sell.

Another option if you are having trouble finding a donation site is to post on Nextdoor Neighbor. I bet there are crafty people, home daycares, maybe someone who works for a red center or summer camp that would come grab them. I don’t ever have anyone contact me, I just post saying I am putting such and such out near the curb in a box come and grab it if you want it. I of course remove the post as soon as I know it is gone. Nothing ever lasts more then a couple of hours.
I do donate most stuff to our Humane Society Thrift store (sorted in bags to make it easier for them) or I take it into school, but there is just some stuff that is too random so I bag it up and post on nextdoor.
I love the idea of putting stuff I am worried I might need in a time out box for a bit, if I don’t look for it after a month then it can go for good.

(And most of my stuff goes to a nonprofit thrift shop that helps animals too.) Freecycle.org is in many areas in the U.S. Someone in my area posted this listing, “Craft supplies. Includes wood items, sand art kit/extra sand, chenille stems, colored craft sticks, jingle bells, beads, wreaths, mini baskets/nests, foam stickers and letter stamps. Open it up and make someting new for some summer fun!” There was a photo too.

I don’t try to sell my purges. I don’t care how much I could possibly get selling. It’s not worth the hassle. Everything I get rid of I’ve either used what I want or it was an impulse buy I will never use. Either way, I just want it gone. I always post on Nextdoor with photos and free and have never had trouble getting someone to take it.

I just saw a "things I've never" layout posted which could be a good way to use all of those random stickers - just use the stickers you've got to determine your journalling.

And the more I have the less I can find what I actually want to use. I can't keep track of it all, so if I don't know I have it, what's the point?Wise wise words, and about anything, not just stickers or craft supplies. A few years ago my DH and I donated over a thousand books. I had never given a book away (sacrilege) but was ruthless. And a surprise: it made the remaining books - still a decent number - more special. (My eyes are crap so e-books are read 99% of the time, plus why keep books I’ll never re-read? There are a handful that are sentimental and I occasionally check I still feel the same about them.) I’d remarked to my DH that the book purging reminded me of getting rid of things before moving to a different house. So I put myself into the mindset of pretending to move. Instead of a move it’s a fove, pronounced foove as in fake move. It’s been sporadic but every room, every closet, drawer, etc. has been or will be gone through. At one point my small SUV was crammed with boxes of just art and craft supplies to donate. But when I recently found a Concord & 9th large turnabout stamp that hadn’t been used and the same one in one of my stamp bins, it was a major eye-roll have to get-to-it moment. So I’ll be fooving my craft room/office again. We’ve gotten rid of so much. And there was only one item, ever, I wished I hadn’t given away - a particular kitty/dog cup bed. But later I found the exact one - actually two - in a closet. So no remorse.

Instead of a move it’s a fove, pronounced foove as in fake move. It’s been sporadic but every room, every closet, drawer, etc. has been or will be gone through. A fove! I love that. Great job on the books - that's hard for a reader. I sometimes feel like a fake book lover because my shelves are so empty, but I have to many books on my to-read list to do much re-reading, and most of my books are on my kindle or at my library. Better the others go delight someone else. Often when I regret getting rid of something I later remember that it had never lived up to expectations anyway, or wasn't worth the hassle of using/caring for/putting away. I've learned to trust myself more, that I'm making these choices for good reasons. With craft supplies, in my mind giving a sticker away and then realizing you could use it is no more scary than using a sticker on a page and then realizing I could use it on another page. Using them on a page now vs saving them for a future better/more perfect page is a dangerous way to think. It can paralyze you creatively. There are enough stickers and sticker alternatives in the world! And I realized that throwing the occasional sticker in the trash wasn't actually a waste in environmental terms - is it any different than putting it on a page? I think way too much about some of this stuff
