I’d remarked to my DH that the book purging reminded me of getting rid of things before moving to a different house. So I put myself into the mindset of pretending to move. Instead of a move it’s a fove, pronounced foove as in fake move. It’s been sporadic but every room, every closet, drawer, etc. has been or will be gone through. A fove! I love that. Great job on the books - that's hard for a reader. I sometimes feel like a fake book lover because my shelves are so empty, but I have to many books on my to-read list to do much re-reading, and most of my books are on my kindle or at my library. Better the others go delight someone else. Often when I regret getting rid of something I later remember that it had never lived up to expectations anyway, or wasn't worth the hassle of using/caring for/putting away. I've learned to trust myself more, that I'm making these choices for good reasons. With craft supplies, in my mind giving a sticker away and then realizing you could use it is no more scary than using a sticker on a page and then realizing I could use it on another page. Using them on a page now vs saving them for a future better/more perfect page is a dangerous way to think. It can paralyze you creatively. There are enough stickers and sticker alternatives in the world! And I realized that throwing the occasional sticker in the trash wasn't actually a waste in environmental terms - is it any different than putting it on a page? I think way too much about some of this stuff Just remember to pronounce it foove or the magic doesn’t happen. I’m with you on overthinking. And if there’s some little crafty thing I just want to “have” without good reason, just enjoy looking at it, I’ll put it where I can see it or on the wall or door, and after seeing it X number of times then it loses its hold on me. That’s not the intention - it’s fine to keep it, but sometimes familiarity brings not contempt, but an “okay, I’m done with you” result. That’s happened with some sentimental non craft items too. Coming across something that’s been packed away for years may bring a jolt of memories and even tears, but if i put that item out where I’ll see it and walk by it multiple times a day, then the “charge” eventually dissipates and I can more easily decide whether to donate it, maybe take a photo first. But that’s a different topic. I think I’ll use the word sticker for anything I’m not sure I want to let go of, ha.

I keep meaning to make a layout titled, “Stickers I Will Never Use,” with all the ones about motherhood, children, and all the other things that aren’t a part of my life. I’m tired of seeing them hanging around on their half-used sheets. I’ve done a couple of purges over the years, but there’s one sheet of paper I don’t like and I can’t imagine why I bought it. It has a green background, with ants and watermelon slices. I’m pretty sure it’s from the late 90s. I’m determined to use it some day. Remember how everyone used to talk about and dis “spaghetti paper”? The ant/watermelon paper is on that level, but I will use it some day! www.liveeatlearn.com/pan-seared-watermelon-steak/Lol

i will also sell stuff on some online marketplace.

Just when I think I should get rid of some of my stuff I end up finding the perfect use for something that's been in my stash for a long time. I still have stuff from the 90's early 2000's like those page toppers and page pieces from companies like Cockadoodle Design. Well I ended up having the perfect pictures that matched one of the page toppers (and the matching diecuts) and the funny thing is that is one of my pages I get the most compliments on.
What I do regret is when I was into the scrapbook magazines and got published a few times I bought stuff that wasn't my style because it was popular.
But to be honest this year I am really trying to buy only necessities like page protectors and adhesive. I have lost weight over the last year and it's been so long since I bought clothing and also my daughter is in high school and there are things I want to do for her that I need to save my money for.

Having some kind of leftover sticker/die cut binder (like RTS scrapbooking uses) might make it so that you can actually use those last few useful stickers, or the hassle of transferring them all might convince you they aren't worth it. I missed this earlier. I did organize my stickers mostly like her system. I don't have a lot of stamps, so I also included stamped images in categories by theme instead of color like she does. It's been really helpful for words or images that can be used for more than the intended theme like Christmas. I definitely use the smaller bits I didn't seem to notice when they felt too crowded on a big 12x12 sticker sheet.
I got a paper shapers watermelon punch for that.
