Congratulations on your 20th anniversary of your weightloss Bergdorfblonde! That is an amazing achievement! You look so beautiful in the photo you posted of you at your goal weight with all of your curly hair-I love your hair! I don't even recognize you at your heaviest weight. I'm so glad you posted the photos. Congratulations for such a stunning achievement!
Medicare and migraine meds-what a travesty! If you're on Medicare you don't qualify for the newer drugs that come with the special coupons that allow you to try them for free for a year like Nurtec, or for just $10.00 a month like Ubrelvy, and yet this is just the population that needs this help. It makes me so angry-the entire profit based system we call "healthcare" in this country. I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this.
As far as medical marijuana goes studies on medical marijuana and migraines have shown that THC works best for migraines. For myself I have found that to be true. CBD did nothing on it's own to help my migraines, I do much better with THC. You don't have to smoke it or even vape it. There are lots of different methods for getting the medication into your body. Edibles, tinctures, capsules, lotions, balms, baths, and patches. Even suppositories.
For myself what happens is I'll use a medication and my body will get used to it and it'll stop working. Right now the only thing that works is Ubrelvy and I get 5 doses a month. Because of all of the almost constant storms we've been having that's just not enough. So I rely on my MM to get me through. It works both as a preventive and as an abortive-stops a migraine when it happens. Can I drive and run errands while on MM? Well no-but then I'm only using that much when I have a migraine to stop it so I wouldn't be out driving then anyway-I can't drive with a migraine or run errands-I'm usually home in pain. When I use for prevention it's only a small bit every day and wears off within 30 minutes.
