jeremysgirl Congratulations to Esther on getting the job ! Worked half a day only. Finished cleaning what I had to clean, packed our luggage and now just relaxing the rest of the day. I can't tell you how happy I am to go visit my mother, my sons and the rest of the family in Texas. I have not seen them since September 2019. We usually go once or twice a year but with Covid we did not travel last year. For dinner we are ordering in Chinese.

Esther got the job! They hired her on the spot. Full time and $13.00 an hour to wash dishes. Congrats to Esther!! I had to laugh ~ when DS got his first accountant job after getting his degree, he was making $18 an hour. He had been working at a thrift store for a women's shelter. He drove a truck picking up donations (generally furniture). He got the job the summer after he graduated from high school and worked all during college and for 2 years after getting his degree until he finally found his *real* job. But they paid him $11 an hour with full benefits including health care so that was a plus. They had promoted him so that he was making bank deposits and doing some accountant type work. They hated to lose him but knew it was inevitable.

Congratulations to Esther, jeremysgirl! DS got his 2nd shot this morning and we are a fully vaccinated household. Dinner is a clean out the fridge night. The only thing I'm adding to the mix is a refreshing Yotam Ottolenghi salad with kohlrabi, apples and beets. That will pretty much clean out the fresh produce, so I have to get a shopping trip in soon. I'm very curious to see what it looks like out in the world as CA officially opened up today.

cadoodlebug I was blown away by $13.00 an hour to wash dishes. Chloe got a job with Chipotle a few weeks ago. She's been working full time for $13.50 an hour and they told her after 6 months $15.00 an hour. These businesses are definitely hurting for employees. Esther is actually working at a fairly nice, locally owned, Chicago-style pizza place. I'm surprised for a mom and pop business they are paying her that much. They contacted her three hours after she applied for the interview and hired her on the spot. I'm blown away. She sometimes has difficulty with new people and new situations and has limited interview experience, so I wasn't sure how it would go for her. But she did it!

Hi, Sisters! I've been here in Baltimore with the kitties while the newlyweds are on a honeymoon in California. The older cat, Bean, has known me for a long time so I'm no big deal. The tiny one, Boh, is only a year and a half and has never had much time with me due to the pandemic. But, curiously, the little one has warmed to me and even sat on the couch with me while Bean has been standoffish until today when he sat on my lap. One never bites the hand that feeds them hahahahaha! Tonight I am eating a turkey sandwich, some fruit with a lemon yogurt topping, and some nuts. It's slim pickings in their house so tomorrow is a trip to the grocery store for real food. I could also walk a little ways and eat out. We'll see. The arrows have read the threads and have been amazed at how the sisterhood has risen to the challenges that life has thrown at them. Not surprised-amazed, but dancing-in-the-streets amazed. The kitties spent about an hour last night zooming around and play fighting because they cannot dance. The arrows desire dancing, but, alas, they have no legs to stand on. Suffice it to say, dancing comes in many forms and is always joyful. Thanks for the thread. You are our Queen and most Grand Poobahlette and our Empress.

cadoodlebug, thank you so much for Thursday. desertgirl, discussions about kitties are not the same as photos of said kitties. Ahem! Enjoy your kitty sitting. I vote for you to choose a couple of good local eateries that you can enjoy this week.

leannec He's doing fine sleeping in his crate. It helps him rest and I know he is safe. Great news! All of my dogs (4 over the years) loved their crates Now I just have moody cats

as well as setting up my new Selphy photo printer that I picked up at the mall on the way home yesterday. I printed a few photos of Sophia to test it, and they look great! I recently bought one too and I am very happy with it. sueg and jeremysgirl what size prints does it do? I like little 2x2 or 2x3 for my memory planner- is that an option?

I have the CP1300, and it does a variety of print sizes. It can do up to a 4x6, but also credit card sized (3.5 x 2.25) and 2" square photos. You just buy different sized paper sets. Also, using the app, you can print several smaller photos on one 4x6 sheet - for example, you can print two 2x4 photo booth style strips. You can also do this using 3rd party apps, like Project Life - you just have to make the collage and save it to your phone photo album and print from there. There is also a smaller model, the QX10, which does 2.7" square pics. I chose the 1300 so that I had the option of many print sizes.

I agree with everything sueg said here paget I mostly use 4x6 and 2x3 photos for my books because I'm doing project life/pocket pages and it works perfect for that
