"Captain American Crafts did it in the warehouse with the scissors." I'm in need of a compilation thread for the AC brands that have been pushed off the cliff since they're off-ing these quietly and without a release or update. AC is tearing (pun intended) through them these days. Help? Here are the non-exhaustive lists of AC brands and partnerships ended in recent years: Confirmed đź’€ before the pandemic: 1Canoe2 Confirmed đź’€ in 2020-21: Pink Paislee, Shimelle, Dear Lizzy, Amy Tangerine ( ? 3rd party confirmation) Currently speculated to have been killed off: Pebbles (no new products), BoBunny (no new products), Jolee's Boutique (no new products), K&Company (no new products), Sticko (no new products). You may also leave an obit for your dearly departed and share your favourite collections they released. RIPP (rest in paper pieces)

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today, to get through this thing called life.... erm, I mean, to look back on the brands we've lost to the black widow that is American Crafts.

A friend of mine said she asked Amy Tan if she was coming out with something new. Apparently, she’s been dropped now as well. Am I correct in noticing there isn’t a Maggie Holmes collection?

Amy Tangerine and Maggie Holmes both released collections in 2021. Brave + Bold for Amy, Garden Party for Maggie. They're both safe and Maggie just became her own brand (away from Crate Paper). Oh! That same friend reminded me about JilliBean Soup too. JilliBean Soup is an odd one. They announced their partnership in February 2020. But I'm not sure what the current status is. Nothing has come of that until now, has it? Their IG feed is filled with cut files advertising. Did AC retract?

I read a post in a fb group about Amy Tan being let go from AC. Not sure how accurate it is but it is going around.

I read a post in a fb group about Amy Tan being let go from AC. Not sure how accurate it is but it is going around. I just read the same thing! The group's moderator said she "asked AC" about Amy Tan. If this is true, that's huge. Why are they letting all the designers go???

DCWV would make me very sad. I know they aren't a favorite with most of the peas, but I've bought them over the years. In my early scrapbooking years, I mainly used that brand because I didn't know of others. I always liked the cardstock stacks. Since I mainly used them for layering, I didn't care they were thinner.
ETA: I really loved the Pebbles collection, maybe called Take Note? I can't remember. It had a lot of polka dots, diagonal stripes, a bright floral paper, and a ledger paper that I can remember. Very versatile line.

If Amy doesn't say something about the partnership, it'll take time to figure this one out. Her collections have been pretty spread out so with Brave + Bold releasing earlier this spring, it might take us another 6 to 7 months from now to know.

Wasn't Maggie Holmes hugely popular with the happy mail crowd? I don't know what else to call it, but the ladies who like to do memorydex and those pocket letters?

Laura Alberts is listing Amy Tan, Shimelle, Maggie Holmes, and Dear Lizzy. Maggie Holmes being let go would be the biggest news. She's a major seller for AC and just became her own brand under their umbrella last year. Did her social media drama catch up with her?

Wasn't Maggie Holmes hugely popular with the happy mail crowd? I don't know what else to call it, but the ladies who like to do memorydex and those pocket letters? Yes. She's also the only AC "designer"/brand to consistently have people uploading detailed hauls/unboxing of her collections on YouTube. Besides Crate Paper, I don't think any other AC brand has retained such appeal.

Maggie also has new planners and planner accessories out with AC March/April this year. If she's been dropped, it's very recently. They were clearly still designing stuff for her brand in 2020. https://www.instagram.com/p/CMKw8n1p_vy

Heck yes to the DCWV Cardstock Stacks! I don't use of a ton of cardstock but I have always had a few of the DCWV cardstock stacks on the go and was always able to find the perfect colour. They were so convenient to have on hand, and because they were thinner they cut beautifully. I will definitely miss them if they're gone.

I was always a lover of the Pebbles ephemera. Boo. I think I've bought the Pebbles Halloween ephemera yearly since 2016. We don't even celebrate Halloween in my nook of the world. I will miss their cute monsters so much.

I know we've known about Pink Paislee for a while but I'm still bummed about that one. I didn't buy everything they put out but I really liked their aesthetic and the things I wanted were often out of stock at all the online stores I buy from.
I'm saddened by Pebbles as well, I feel like they managed to do the cutesy but not Doodlebug levels of cutesy well, and I always enjoyed seeing what they released. I don't mind Jen Hadfield but I feel a bit like she's a one trick pony.
And I won't miss Maggie at all, my stash has all the washed out full blown roses and swans I need.

Per the AC website, Shop by Brand & Catalogs. In addition to Pink Paislee, Shimelle, & Dear Lizzy, the company no longer produces papercrafting products under Project Life/Becky Higgins, 1Canoe2, & Jillibean Soup brands. [As an aside: I'd like a moment of silence to remember Quickutz of over a decade ago before it was acquired by Lifestyle Crafts, WRMK, & AC, where brands are swept under the umbrella never to be distinquishable or heard from again.] While Bazzill is the only AC brand I've purchased in the last 1.5+ years (ie discounted 12x12 cardstock in neutral color packs at TM or by the sheet during Joann 10/$2 sales), I haven't noticed new products from & am uncertain about the status of Damask Love, Bo Bunny, Jolee's Boutique, K&Company, Pebbles, & Sticko. It appears new products have been released this year for Bazzill, Core'dinations, Obed Marshall, Amy Tangerine, Vicki Boutin, Crate Paper, Paige Evans, Jen Hatfield, Maggie Holmes, DCWV, Heidi Swapp, WRMK, EK Success, Colorbok, & AC (see AC 2021 Basics Catalog) ... Currently speculated to have been killed off: ...DCWV (no new products)... Note the DCWV 2021 CatalogOh! That same friend reminded me about JilliBean Soup too. JilliBean Soup is an odd one. They announced their partnership in February 2020. But I'm not sure what the current status is. Nothing has come of that until now, has it? Their IG feed is filled with cut files advertising. Did AC retract? Jillibean Soup announced in June 2020 that it would no longer produce paper goods, as discussed in this thread.

Unfortunately, AC's website is not up to date and AC do not like to communicate openly about brands they've recently ditched. We have direct confirmation from Elizabeth Kartchner, the brand owner, that Dear Lizzy is no longer under the AC umbrella but it still appears on the website. This is not the ideal source to cite or work from to establish the recent graveyard additions hence our many speculations and discussions. The "2021" catalog products are actually from before 2021. There are no new releases that I can spot in there. They are simply stock from past years still being sold. Fairytale Dreams, Zodiac, Old World, etc. All from their earlier years at AC. Christmas 2020 was their final release so far. So yeah, I'm keeping DCWV on the speculated dead list for now until someone brings me evidence of new products. AC are just selling off their existing warehouse content. ETA: I think I spotted a new release in the catalog after several flips and looks. Luna doesn't look familiar to me. Pretty sure I would remember this if it had been released before. Let me look this up some more. ETA2: 2021 new releases from DCWV are English Garden, Floral Couture, Honey Blossom, Humble Abode and Luna. All the rest in the 2021 catalog paper stack-wise is old stuff. Verdict: DCWV goes off the speculation list.

Ugh, this is the kind of thread that magnifies my hoarding tendencies. I still miss the old Crate Paper, Pink Paislee, and Shimelle, and will miss Pebbles Halloween and Birthday lines. I really liked MH Garden Party and Amy Tangerine’s Late Afternoon lines, and even though I didn’t like all of their collections, I will miss their designs. I think Covid has accelerated the demise of the paper crafting industry. I was at my local Michaels last week and the paper crafting area is decimated, almost all of the stickers are gone, also the paper. Stamping section also drastically downsized, and they are no longer carrying Tim Holtz products, which was one of the last “designer” brands they carried. I am hoping that issues with manufacturing and shipping are behind the empty shelves, but I think the crafting industry is moving away from paper crafts

It seems like COVID would have given people more spare time to craft, even though there were fewer pictures of “events” to scrap. In a world where nobody really gives a damn about you, it seems like documenting your and your family’s stories is even more important. I’ll be sad if I end up using construction paper and that white paste in a jar to make my pages, because there’s no more pretty paper, thanks to AC.

Is it possible that with Covid, and shut downs, and work from home, and slow down/halt in productions just have caused a temporary slow down? Is that too much to hope for for some of these lines?

Some of my favorites:
Amy Tangerine Sketchbook BORN: January 2012 DIED : I have a few pieces so not completely dead yet.
Amy Tangerine Ready Set Go BORN: July 2012 DIED: I just saw some in my stash which reminded me of this thread. I really, really like these papers.
Amy, I hope what I read is not true. Praying the doctors can bring you back. I still like some of your collections.
