I usually love these kits. Absolutely love them. I have a ton of the kits and use them a lot.
Having said that, I found this month's offerings to be disappointing. When they started they would have 3 more kid themed kits and then a more gender neutral kit. Then they went down to one main kit and one "boy" kit. That disappointed me because when they first started I'd buy at least 2 of their kits every month, sometimes more. A lot of the time they were sold out before I got there.
I really like all of the al la carte options, too. I'd fill my cart with a ton of those. I don't have a Cricut right now so I like buying a die cut to work with. Not the cheapest option but I'm just getting my feet wet working with those.
So every month I set my alarm so I can get there before the good stuff runs out. And this month? Ugh. The main kit is really drab and the usually more kid oriented kit is food related. Not kid food related, more farmhouse type food. Again, the colors are drab. I was all set to spend a lot of money and there was nothing I wanted. I'd like to get a few of the embellishments but there wasn't enough of those to make it worth the shipping.
They didn't sell out of stuff this month, either. Between the lack of selling out and the reduction of kit choices offered, it scares me that they are not doing well. This scares me because I usually love, love, love their stuff. I so want to give them my money.
My favorite kits I've used have been the video game one (which is recent), the music one, the school one, the little boy one, and the football one. I also had two premium kits that I really loved.
I'm really hoping that next months kit will be more lively and have more kid related themes.

I saw this video this week and thought that it really didn't mesh with the kit club. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITRKjyEjk_w&t=791s I usually love what Shannon does with the kits, but this layout would not be one I'd use for scrapping my boys (in general). I am not surprised it didn't sell out. You can find this kind of kit anywhere. Perhaps they will notice that it wasn't a great seller and go back to what they do well.

Honestly, I think transportation and supply issues are the culprit based on what we have been seeing in the world of paper crafting in general. They may be having to make do with what they can get their hands on at this point.

I've never purchased anything from NJFB. Like every company around the world, its business is undoubtedly impacted by the pandemic which may explain the reduction of kits offered. Also, other scrappers may be like me & rarely check the site unless mentioned here, since the main kit was always sold out upon upload on the 1st of each month in the beginning (& the other kits offered are filled with older supplies that I often already own - & likely the entire paper/collection packs were purchased cheap at Tuesday Morning - if I remotely liked them). In addition to a premium & themed kit per month, it appears the company now offers a monthly page kit ($14.99). Hope you like next month's selections! notjustforboyskitclub.com/collections/june-2021-collections

If anyone is interested, today's (6/21) Peachy Cheap offer is Simple Stories "Bro and Co". It's teen oriented, and yes, there are "bro" and "dude", but also non-gendered phrases.

I never thought about covid being the problem. That makes sense. Okay, I forgive them.
I don't mind them using some older stuff because the combination with the other supplies makes me use the old stuff in new ways.
I love their own embellishments- the acrylic pieces, the metal pieces, the sequins, the fabric patches- they are really cool and fun to use.
The Peachy Cheap deal was already sold out, unfortunately. I have that line and it is excellent for scrapping teen boys. If Peachy Cheap still had it I would have bought more- I've already used quite a bit of it.
I'm always looking for paper and kits that are good for boys. I scrap two boys that aren't traditionally masculine (never liked typical boy stuff- sports, cars, etc.) and one that is a gaming and sports nut.

The new kits are out today. I didn't have one particularly grab me but I liked the colors and the mix of stuff seemed good so I bought both of the new kits - Oasis and Lake Life. I think the Lake Life one is a bit more boy friendly than last month's food one.
I also bought some of the pearls and sequin mixes. I do like their sequin mixes- I use them a lot.
Honestly, I filled up a cart full partly because I liked it and partly because I want to keep them in business. I don't think there is any other kit club that still does 12x12 non-pink kits with a good mix of embellishments.
If you haven't looked at their site, do. I've been very happy with their shipping (it comes quickly and it is well packed) and they do have neat stuff in the ala carte shopping section. I like that they have a lot of exclusives, too.

I’ve already made three layouts with the main kit (July- Oasis) and found it really fun to work with! My layouts will post 7/8, 7/18, and 7/28.

Consider yourselves enablers. I like this company and would like for them to stay in business. I ordered the Oasis kit and some add ons. I live in Phoenix so the cacti and the colors are perfect. I ordered it July 1 and it was delivered today. I know I can find some use for this kit so thanks for the reminder that it’s an option!
