I am finally organizing my scraproom. I have at least a 6-feet tall stack of paper. Probably more. Who could use all that paper? The stamps!! I have a ridiculous amount of stamps. I don't use stamps. Many of them never opened. The amount of brads and flowers I have? Well, at least they don't take a lot of space. I am like a SCRAP HOARDER!!! I am sick with myself. I am giving away a lot basic stuff, but I still love my paper. UGH.

Keep the paper! The way the industry is going at the moment it will ensure you always have something to scrap with.
My 'what is wrong with me' is that I have three, yes three Iris bins of unfinished layouts. I like picking the paper, and gluing the photos down but then have to go downstairs to use the computer to cut titles and my die cut machine only works on DH's computer so I have to wait until he's not on it, and the pile keeps growing...

I try not to call myself a hoarder, Really Red; I am a COLLECTOR of possibilities... I can't always FIND that perfect little scrappy element I need right now, but it is HERE. I bought it because (a) it is cute or pretty or suits one of the themes I scrap; (b) it fit a theme I hoped to use sometime--when the kids get a little older, or take up hot balloon riding or...; (c) it was on sale and such a bargain!; or (d) my friend--IRL or virtual--bought it and loves it and it looks like they are having alot of fun with it. And I hate to get rid of it because... well, look at the list above. My kids have always said if there is a world food shortage they are all heading here to live because of my frozen and preserved meats & veggies. Paper crafters are welcome to come during the scrappy apocalypse when supplies are no longer available anywhere else...

my PP and cardstock is probably 5ft if I stack it but my usual goal is for it to fit in my three 4 shelf cubes from Michaels and right now I'm slightly overflowing so I need to scrap more, buy less. My collection kits have also outgrown their storage drawer so... I have much more cardstock than PP but one always needs the right shade.
Otherwise I don't think I have too much of anything - nothing else is overflowing their designated storage....okay my scraps need a good going-through.

Really Red, you are not alone! I have so much paper and other scrapbook supplies, yet I cannot stop buying! I have all kinds of mixed media products that I spent so much on, and they all dried up or spoiled. Huge waste of money, big regret. I am really hoping that once things open up here my LSS will do another garage sale...you can book a table, stock it with stuff, and then whatever sells is given to you in store credit. Since I can't stop buying the least I could do is get rid of some of the old stuff I will probably never use to make room for the new. That said, grammadee is right, it is nice to have a deep stash to pull from and have favourite collections from the glory days of scrapbooking. We bought it for a reason, and it can be hard to let it go, so keep what you love and enjoy it!

I have quite a bit of supplies as well. But I am not too worried about it at this time (getting close though) however my What is wrong with me? is that I am afraid to use some of the products I have purchased and try new (to me) techniques. But I decided about two months ago to just go for it. Try things out, I use inexpensive cardstock to try things on and see if I like the end result then replicate that on a layout or a card. Joining the challenge group this month has helped as well, making me use things I may not have for points and Sketchy Saturday has helped as well.

I am finally organizing my scraproom. I have at least a 6-feet tall stack of paper. Probably more. Who could use all that paper?... but I still love my paper. YOU! This seems totally normal. After all, a healthy paper inventory is required to legitimately call yourself a scrapper... ...The stamps!! I have a ridiculous amount of stamps. I don't use stamps. Many of them never opened... Congratulations on identifying your summer challenge = opening a new stamp set (already in your inventory) for each layout! ...The amount of brads and flowers I have? Well, at least they don't take a lot of space. I am like a SCRAP HOARDER!!! ... Agreed (since I don’t use either)! 😂 I think you’re underestimating the amount of physical & mental space these frivolous supplies occupy. The obvious solution is to get rid of these space hogs, so you have room to buy & store more of your favorite necessity = paper. 💕

Ha! I think that’s a lot of people here. I was never a big paper hoarder but so much of the other stuff. I’ve been using up stuff that is no longer my style or need in my art journal. Old stamps and papers that I no longer care for have been great for my daughters school projects. But I have a lot of rubber cling stamps that I haven’t looked at in years. Not sure what to do with those.
I have to relocate my craft room soon to a smaller room in my house 😕 so I’m sure I will be forced to purge some stuff. Not looking forward to that at all.

I have so much stuff. It is insane. I blame having a pretty good income and not being married/having kids. Lots of disposable income and I certainly dispose of it.
My basement is absolutely drowning in scrapbook stuff. I think trying to organize it, clean it up is my goal for today. It will probably be a couple hour job.
I know the organizing doesn't really work if I don't get rid of some stuff but now I'm scared of the industry going out of business. I am so glad I saved all of my Basic Grey and October Afternoon paper. If the industry ended right now I probably have enough stuff to last through old age.

You are most definitely not alone. I think my next goal starting July 1 is going to be something about finding one thing in my hoard a day to get rid of. Either by using it up or finding a new home (selling or donation) for it. I'm drowning in stuff. The madness needs to end. I already have a goal to spend time crafting every day - this will just be more purposeful. And I definitely need to freeze my buying until I can see a dent.
My whole house really is a source of stress to me right now. My family says they agree that we need to get rid of about half of our posessions to be manageable, but the weeks flow by and nothing changes. So if I can at least start on the area of the house that is truly all my stuff -- maybe it will start the ball rolling? I don't know. I'm searching for a decluttering system that I can actually use. Everything from Home Edit to Real Simple to Martha Stewart to Marie Kondo seems out of reach for time/resources right now.

It looks like there are plenty of us “hoarders” here. I have more paper, stamps, dies, etc., than I will probably ever use, but that isn’t a bad thing.
As long as it is at least somewhat organized, I will find what is needed for whatever current project I want to do. While I wish I hadn’t disposed of quite so much disposable income, it’s done, and I certainly won’t get that money back by giving away half my stash.
I’m actually glad to have a big stash. With medical bills that keep showing up in our mailbox, and DH now on(hopefully temporary) disability, my craft spending has come to a screeching halt for the most part, but because I have plenty of supplies, I can keep crafting away. I’ve needed that craft time. It’s helped save my sanity.
I have no LSS near me, anyway, so I have been shopping mostly from my stash ever since we moved to Texas. It’s been very convenient, but now it’s a necessity.
If I ever get too feeble to craft, the day may come when my kids will help me downsize, but today is not that day.

Everything from Home Edit to Real Simple to Martha Stewart to Marie Kondo seems out of reach for time/resources right now. Joshua Becker (YT) says start with the living room. You need to start with something easy with big impact to get inspired to keep going. ETA: Apparently I have become more of a stamper than a scrapper because mostly I have bought stamps in the last 6 months. I really need to stop looking and buying.

Everything from Home Edit to Real Simple to Martha Stewart to Marie Kondo seems out of reach for time/resources right now. I recommend decluttering at the Speed of Life by Dana K White (audiobook, book, YT channel) if you have any issues at all with ADHD or distractions, or if you don’t want your space to get worse before it gets better. She doesn’t have you pull everything out, and she recommends focusing on the most visible problems first. Lots of really good basic techniques, a bit repetitive but that’s just because there really are only a few steps - you just have to follow along and do them. Dawn from the Minimal Mom YT channel tried out her system too (here: youtu.be/7yQqvQ99MVw ) even though she’s a very experienced declutterer, and there are some really good basic principles that can benefit anyone trying to get a handle on stuff, but especially busy people with a tendency to distraction or interruption, or people with physical limitations. The Minimal Mom channel is another really good place to start for inspiration and encouragement. Dawn hosts collabs with other channels too, so you might find someone who speaks to you more depending on your particular style and issues. My advice is start with the big easy visible stuff like Dana advises. ETA: Dana has a podcast too - good to listen to while you declutter? I believe it’s called A Slob Comes Clean.

That is how much time I spend every day and it will take me weeks to get it all done (everything was thrown in boxes because of a flood) The rest of my house is not clutterfilled (it was, but this was a three-year process to clean my house. I only have left the attic and the basement. Since my basement flooded, I had to pack things up quickly (they were all above ground, so nothing was destroyed but carpet) and I haven't had the time. I start a new job next week and have this week off. I wish I could spend all my time down there organizing, but I have a lot to get done.

Everything from Home Edit to Real Simple to Martha Stewart to Marie Kondo seems out of reach for time/resources right now. I don't think you need a system. I like watching videos, but I just do my own thing. I suggest starting small. Clean out one drawer or one bin. Have a toss, donate, keep system. I started tossing the last of the letter sheets and sticker sheets. I might cut out a few stickers from a sheet that I think I'll use. I donate packages of stuff I haven't even opened, that I got with a kit or won at a crop. I donate 2 gallon bags of paper. When going through my paper, I keep some of the heavier stuff with with white b sides that I won't ever use the front of. I practice techniques or mat photos with the white side. Paper I know I won't use, I donate. Really Red I bet a lot of us would have 6' of paper if we stacked it up. I know I do!

I've been cleaning out my craft room as well and putting stuff in a pile to sell on Ebay. I'm having great luck selling stuff and I put it as Buy It Now so that I don't have to be bothered with it. Some stuff stays for a long time and some stuff sells very quickly! I find if you have a lot of stamps, make a group listing that lists all the stamps and people can pick and choose. I've listed paints and sprays that I haven't used and sold them, dies and paper too! You need a scale which you can purchase off of Amazon for cheap and you're in business. Good tip is to check to see what the average cost is of what you are selling. Remember to put in your description no refunds, no returns, product as is, all sales are final. You're cleaning out your stash and you don't want that stuff back! Crafting is kind of like buying clothes. I've bought stuff and never worn it. Same with crafting, but now I know my crafting style so stuff doesn't go to waste. Plus I'm really good about keeping stuff in my line of sight. If I see it, I use it!

Really Red I bet a lot of us would have 6' of paper if we stacked it up. I know I do! I have a solid 12' pile of paper. My husband made me two 6' shelves to store paper vertically when I first started scrapping back in 2001. They are both full, plus some. Now, in my slight defense, it's not just paper on those shelves. I keep my collection kits together, so there are stickers, chipboard, enamel dots and washi expanding out the space, but it's full, even after I spent most of last weekend purging from there (and other areas) to discard over a foot of supplies.

Yesterday we got back from a 15 day road trip across the country. I am super thankful for my stash and have no plans of purging. Sadly, brick and mortar stores are few and far between. I only went to one in South Carolina near Myrtle Beach. I thought surely I'd find some in Texas and other major cities that we passed through. Nope.
