I don't know what you have, but maybe you could put together what you can, and either paint or wood-burn the faces. Perhaps a pic of what you have would garner better suggestions.

I thought I had one of those saved on my Christmas ideas boards, but maybe a bit of inspiration instead. I like the simple black and white design with trees. That could be the front of your drawers.

Stain the drawers? This one is natural wood.

Do the drawers flip around to make a picture like the old Advent Calendars from Starbucks? If so, you could do decorative calendar numbers on one side, in scrambled order, and then a picture on the back that is revealed day by day as you open each drawer and flip it. I also like the vintage Santa idea

@bdhardy, are you looking for ways to use the drawers in your craft room without the tree? Like to store things like small embellishments? Are any of the little cubbies salvageable in the broken stand? If they are, I like a combination of refugeepea's stained drawers with knobs and don's idea to attach a sample of what is IN the drawer on the front. Creating new cubbies is a whole different ballgame. Not sure of their depth, but could you find a craft storage container at a craft store (one of those designed for beads or sewing notions) that you could stand on its edge or its end on a shelf, and the drawers could each fit in one of the little sections? I don't know why I am responding. I have a whole closet filled with projects like this, kind of a "what if?" collection...
