I wore one to get a lab done at the hospital yesterday. First time in a couple of days I wore one. I don’t love them, but this delta variant is worrying me a little bit. My brother is getting married on June 25th in Sydney and they’ve gone back to mask restrictions again for the next week.

My 11 yo ds won't get a shot til September. I am masking up to theoretically prevent transmission to him and also just avoid cold and flu in the house til he is protected...it has also been 6 mo since I got vaccinated. I am wondering when vaccinated health care peeps will start getting sick as our immunity wanes. Hopefully never!
Basically I am wading in slowly to the shallow end of exposure to other people's exhalation...and I feel just fine about going at my own pace.

Our mask madate was lifted last month, but we still have a few places that require it, so I keep one in my purse. Yesterday I had to put one on and I don't think I'd worn one for two weeks.

I have been not wearing a mask for about a week, but I was in and out of hospital and had to wear a mask--couldn't be cloth, but had to been medical disposable mask. no big deal.
everyone in my circle is vaccinated

Lots of masking still going on here and it’s required at many businesses and restaurants (Seattle area).

I went into a store last week with a sign saying you didn’t need a mask if you had proof of vaccinations. So I too, it off and was happily walking through the store until I noticed I was getting the evil eye from employees and customers alike. I was the only one without a mask. Portland or area.

That's exactly why I haven't gone without one until my quick trip into the grocery store yesterday! lol. Well, that and also concern about the variants, and also that kids can't be vaccinated yet. One of the grumpy people on Nextdoor commented that if parents were worried about their younger kids who can't be vaccinated yet then they should just keep them home and out of stores and other inside places. um... Spoken by someone who either has no kids or who has a spouse/family member at home all the time who can watch kids. Not everyone has that luxury. Anyway, I have my regular weekly grocery shopping to do today and I'll be wearing a mask since I'll be inside much longer than yesterday's quick trip.

I went to Aldi the other day without wearing a mask. The only problem is, we have gone back to masks being mandatory after months of not having to wear them. I just completely forgot. I walked up and down every single aisle, and nobody said a word to me, not even the guy on the checkout. Silly me, I did not realise I was the only one without a mask. It wasn't until I left the shop and thought OMG how embarrassing!!

I thought I'd be wearing them for much longer, more to protect others if I'm a carrier (fully vaccinated). But at this point the vaccine is available to most people and it's not my job to protect you if you refuse to protect yourself.

I'd say 70% overall are still masking in my area (Puget Sound region). While we were at a resort to the north last weekend, I'd say it was much lower, probably 90% were not masking. It felt so...normal! I got my hair done yesterday and most people were masked. It's kind of a weird balance right now.

I'm in Florida where, apparently, there was no pandemic because our bars, restaurants, etc. were jammed with maskless people, and mask mandates were outlawed by our governor. All those hospitalizations and deaths were just a vast left-wing conspiracy...blah, blah, blah. Lots of morons here.
I wear a mask to a medical facility and if a place asks me to wear a mask, I do so, usually willingly. I don't know why I got so militant when I went to a small grocery and there were signs all over saying something like, "To make our other customers feel safe, everyone is required to wear a mask." It's not my job to make people feel safe who refuse to get vaccinated because they believe it's a government plot.

Curious, what are the numbers for COVID like for you guys in FL with everyone completely mask free and everything completely open? Are the governor's mandates hurting? I think we've past the point where it would be evident, right? I'm hoping the numbers are good, that bodes well for my state like California as we've been super conservative about the opening up. So, crossing my fingers.

katlady thank you for that. I guess I could have Googled that myself, so thanks! So, wow I would be worried in those navy blue states, as this thing mutates and stuff they could be right back to square one. Eeesh. Now off to Google how poor India is faring right now.

I’m fully vaccinated but still masking due to having a family member who cannot be vaccinated yet. I wore a mask to grocery shop on Tuesday and felt like people were looking *at me* in a weird way. I wanted to wear a shirt that said “fully vaccinated, I just have an infant at home!”

Because even though Seattle and surrounding area is a very democratic city and probably followed the mask mandates extremely well there are huge pockets of covid is a hoaxers in central and eastern Washington. Heck, there are a lot in Vancouver (almost Portland) who are waving their trump flags and ignoring the mask mandates.

They also reduced testing so cases would look lower. It's a $#*tshow.

But at this point the vaccine is available to most people and it's not my job to protect you if you refuse to protect yourself. You (the collective you) do realise that the vaccine protects you from getting severely ill with covid-19, but it does not protect you from catching it altogether? You can still catch it and be non-symptomatic and pass it on to others. Being vaccinated can keep you out of ICU, maybe even keep you out of hospital, but you are not immune to it. Masks can help stop the transmission of germs at a very basic level. It won't hurt to wear them a while longer.

COVID just gave a name to it. And yes, I think most of us understand that there's still a chance we get COVID even with being vaccinated.

As soon as it was allowed, I stopped wearing one. I will if the store mandates it. Most people here are still wearing them but not me. On the flip side, my dd's boyfriend got a cold from work and then gave it to dd. She came home last week for ds' graduation and proceeded to give it to dh. Now I NEVER get colds. I get maybe one every couple of years and BAM, I got it from dh. Grrr.

I still carry a mask with me because some businesses require it. And I’m happy that my entire household is fully vaccinated, which is a huge weight off my shoulders. But whenever I go someplace and no one is masked (which is everywhere), I realize that half of them are probably unvaccinated anti-maskers anyway, and keep my distance as much as I can. ETA: Yeah, I’m in one of those navy blue states according to the graphic katlady posted.

I'm half vaccinated and so is my son. My husband is fully vaccinated. The Delta variant is a concern around here. Masks are still required. My province is still in it's reopening stages after our last lockdown. Most of the people at my husband's work are fully vaccinated now. They all still wear masks. No one is comfortable to go maskless. There's still lots of people needing their vaccinations. We also don't know what this Delta variant will do since even fully vaccinated people can still catch it and pass it on. We are not out of the woods yet.

We are in a Republican county, and I didn't trust that most were even vaccinated. But they are showing our statistics, and our county has a very high vaccination rate. I was still planning to wear a mask because there are so many little kids at the stores. But as of a couple weeks ago, parents decided that their unvaccinated kids didn't need masks anymore. So if they aren't concerned about their kids, no reason I should wear a mask.
Also, at first I worried that people would think I was being a jerk not wearing a mask (when our governor said vaccinated didn't need masks indoors). And now I worry that if I wear a mask, people will think I an anti-vax!

I felt a lot of the same things, and ultimately (especially after that thread here a few weeks ago) decided that we *did* everything right for so long, including vaccination, and we can now trust the science behind all of that. Because, really, if kids of anti-vaccine/anti-mask people are going to get COVID, it’s more likely it’s going to be from their parents, living in the same house, and not from vaccinated me, passing them in the aisle at the store. But, again, anti-vaxxers here have been going mask-free for months, since our mandate ended. The only people wearing masks were the ones who *couldn’t* be vaccinated.

Yes, I really should stop wearing the mask. It's so hard though! I have worn a mask since April of last year. But I love that wearing a mask is more normal now, so when I want to avoid cold season, I can just wear it! Also, if I am running out and don't want to worry about what I look like, I can wear the mask and not be recognized, haha!

Our governor signed a proclamation that banned masks. No one was "allowed" to require them anymore, schools, stores, etc. Of course, there were still places that did and do. I stopped wearing mine when they said that fully vaxxed people didn't have to wear them anymore. We do still have to wear them at hospitals, doc's offices, etc. My DD is high risk so she still wears hers, and we wear them when we are out with her. It was odd not to wear it the first few times. I did miss smiling at people though.

I still feel like I'm forgetting something when I get out of my car. Sometimes I put my sunglass back on and think 'that's not it.' I only wear a mask in healthcare settings now.

He's a guy so you would have thought he was dying lol. Well, guess who has it this week? It's a cold. I never get colds. I tried my allergy regimen at first but that didn't help, so that eliminated it being allergies. I hate having one ear plugged up and my nose alternating between Hoover Dam and Niagara Falls. Treating symptoms to avoid it settling in my chest and avoiding people (which may mean missing out on a Sunday Funday, wah). It could be worse, though. Oh, and Texas so you already know how masks are. I still wear them when a business requires it and if I go anywhere that I have to be in close proximity of people. Just didn't think I needed it in my own house to avoid a COLD.
