I need to finish (ahem, okay, START) a scrapbook that will be about 100 pages. I need it to be done in the next two weeks. I work full time. Is this feasible at all? ETA: Something like Shutterfly or Snapfish
I absolutely must put commentary and I have no plan.
I have done a scrapbook with little commentary in this time, but I am wondering if I overthink things too much. I spend about 30 mns a page on average.

I could not do it, but thats just me. I am not proficient with digital scrapping (though I can do some...but it takes a while). If I were you, I would 100% make a formula of how I want it to look and just stick to that.

I chose other because I don't know how to digitally scrap. But I could do one of those photobooks from Walgreens or someplace. I could do it pretty quickly. But digitally scrapping without that kind of program I wouldn't have any idea.

Are you talking about making a photo book through someone like Snapfish, where they provide the templates and you just put the photos and journaling in? Or are you talking about start-from-scratch digital scrapbooking using Photoshop or PS Elements or Affinity, where you add everything? Because the first way would take maybe 30 hours. The second way would take about a year!

I stink at digital scrapping so it takes me forever. I guess if I ever get back to trying that I’d need new software or something. I like to play with paper tho so I’m not really motivated to scrap digitally also.

The only way I'd be able to do that is if I was only dealing with 100 photos and it was a photo a page with a text box. Even then that'd be stretching it if I needed to do more journaling beside who, when, where. If I already had the Journaling done then maybe I'd be able to do it.
I like to use the PL app. They now have "editorial" LOs that are 0-3 photos and lots of text if that is more of what you are thinking. For me it is faster to digi scrap if I have limits/constraints otherwise there are too many choices to make. Even then I am not the fastest.

I can put together the bones of a basic year review blurb book in an afternoon if the photos are ready to go and I don't plan to add fancy stuff. I never print right away though. I always go back and look at with fresh eyes and adjust things, add or edit captions, etc. So maybe 3 days? It depends if I have the templates I like available and how familiar I am with the photos. Choosing the photos to use and making sure they're bright enough to print usually takes as much or more time than the building of the album.
I think it's doable if you're prepared (photos, dates, details, spellings of names, etc), if you can place photos in templates quickly as a first draft and then go back and do the fine-tuning later, and if you know what you want to say/the story you're telling.
A technique I use when I have to power through and not get caught up is to set a timer for 25 minutes repeatedly with short breaks in between (basic version of the pomodoro method) and force myself to stay focused to get as much done in that 25 minute window. When the time goes off and you realize you've been dithering about one page you can find your focus again and try to get back to working quickly and getting that first draft done.

It would take me way too long on Shutterfly to do this. But another another site, with such a fixed timeline I think it could be possible. But I don't know what site that would be. I also know I wouldn't be thrilled with the outcome, but it could get done.
I would definitely need a formula--like 4 pages with one color background, then the next 4 with another, etc. Is it only picture per page? That would make it easier too. For me I would not want to mess with any "preset" photo box sizes--I would want to be able to plop the photo right on the page and if I want to crop it I can do it right there to any spec I wanted. It would would also be good to have a pretty easy, consistent way to add the commentary (journaling box?) on the pages that need them. Also, embellishments? It takes so long to find good ones on Shutterfly and place them, IMO, and so many are cheesy. I don't know that any site offers good embellishments. So if you could buy some digi-packs yourself and upload them that would be ideal. But I just don't know a site that does this. Is there an easy computer program at home that does this stuff to make a digital album? But the thought of then uploaded 100+ pages to Shutterfly and proofing them just seems overwhelming.
Good luck, let us know what you decide!
