Last year I didn't buy a single thing on Amazon Prime Day, but this year, thanks to the Peas, I stalked the website for two days and bought things I didn't truly *need*, but were "oh that's cool" wants: some lipsticks, nail dip powders and a summer shawl in a color I don't have. I blame y'all, LOL
Actually, it all started over the weekend when someone mentioned ahe WiFi mesh or net or whatever it's called on one of the pre-prime day threads. I had never heard of it before and asked DH if he knew about it, and if it would help since our Wi-Fi sucks upstairs, even with repeaters and other routers.
He hadn't heard of it, but started researching it and ended up buying one on the APD pre-sale. It was delivered Monday and DS installed it that evening and I haven't lost Wi-Fi since. So, with no snark intended, THANK YOU PEAS!!
I will say DH bought way more than I did, and a few things he didn't really need. I was OK with the pressure washer (Happy early Birthday DH). New shoes for him and DS were going to have to be ordered in the next few weeks anyway, and the extra food storage containers will make prepping his lunches for the week much easier.
However, I have been telling him he really doesn't need ANY MORE short sleeved shirts, Aloha or otherwise. Seriously, he can wear a different one to work for 14 WEEKS without repeating. (even only working four days a week that is still way more than anyone needs). Yet he STILL ordered himself two new shirts on Prime Day. He is never allowed to throw shade at my collection of shoes, sweaters, or fabric again.
Oh, and the cats also got a drinking fountain.
So how did everyone else do? Stay within budget? Bought wants or needs?

My cat already has a drinking fountain soā¦.. I think I spent about $14! I had a $10 voucher to use so I bought extra long charging cords and a portable charger for DS to take to college in the fall. Not very exciting at all.

I bought a few things that were in my cart that were a few bucks off. I had been hoping the price would go down. Bought a few subscriptions for .99 a month and will cancel before the price goes back up.
I did buy a mandolin thanks to good reviews on here. I had to toss ours last years as it was ancient snd the blade didnāt work any more. I may also buy some perforated silpats type baking mats. I didnāt spend much so I donāt feel bad. Nothing exciting though.
We have a wifi mesh system snd it works well. We were having so many problems before we got it.

I didnāt order much. The dash mandolin slicer recommended by the peas, an Echo controlled thermostat control thing (ours has not been holding its programming lately, so it needed to be replaced anyway) and Paramount Plus so I can watch The Challenge All Stars and the Good Fight.

I bought a Dot for the kitchen. We are almost finished with an unwanted renovation thanks to a burst pipe (last August!), and both dh and I wanted one for the new space.

Knife block set, prep knife set, air fryer oven, cookware set and a mandolin slicer. I didn't buy anything last year during Prime Day, but I've been waiting for it this year! The only unplanned purchase was the mandolin. It happens!

Supplies for my Cameo, doggie poop bags and some Stasher bags. The only thing that was 'just because of the price' were the Stasher bags, the other stuff was being purchased anyway. Also picked up some mascaras from the Trish McEvoy because they were having a good sale. Then there was the BOGO sale at Kiehl's. Oh, and the straw Panama hat from Tilley's that was due to enabling by MichyM. Time for me to back away from the computer and stop ordering stuff!

About $25. I bought a light pad with a rechargeable battery. I could have spent $10 less if I got one without a battery.

Too much LOL. But I was ordering for me, two of my DDs, and my mom.
Kindle Paperwhite A few different sets of pre-cut parchment paper pan liners (LOVE the convenience of these!) Satin(like) pillowcases Step stool Cookie cutters Food coloring for icing Stencil material to make cookie stencils Cricut carrying bag Cricut mats Cricut blades Rubbermaid spray mop SD cards (micro) Manual can opener Japanese soup spoons (to go with the ramen bowls I recently got at Aldi) Whisky glass etched with āonly the best bothers get promoted to uncle (to add to my brotherās 50th birthday gift this year) Surge protectors Angry Mom microwave cleaner (stocking stuffers for DDs) Chemical Guys car wash kit plus extra sponges Mini DVD player Toilet brush Charging cords Hand mixer 2 different eCloth sets Floating phone protector pouches to keep in our camper at the lake Stainless steel soap bar to remove odor from hands Bamboo face cloths Washing machine cleaner Microwaveable hand warming mitts for arthritis
Looking at this list, I can see my DD who just moved into her first apartment on campus is the primary beneficiary of this yearās Prime Day! Everything we bought was a pretty good deal.

I didn't get paid until today, so nothing. But I am still debating on pulling the InstaPot trigger.

Much more than I thought I would. I went in for a dot to replace one of my original ones.
The two more expensive items Iād been debating for a while. I hate returning things and sometimes the idea of having to possibly do that keeps me from buying things. Anyhow, the first item arrived yesterday (AirPod Pros) and so far there are no regretsā¦.I love those things entirely too much already!
Also, I donāt typically have Prime. A month here or a month there, thatās it. A couple of weeks ago they sent me an email offering a month free, and with prime day coming up, I thought āsure.ā
Well played Amazon, well played.

I found it extremely frustrating looking for deals. I did it by category like women's fashion. Then you had to scroll, scroll, scroll though 30% off all Adidas. Except it included everyone. In the arts and crafts category, it was LOTS of markers. I don't know what the secret was to finding deals, but I was impatient. I had a bit more luck if I searched used the search feature in Prime Day Deals and being specific like womens shoes size 7.
My daughter found a Halloween costume for my son and I got 2 t-shirts for under $6.00 (Amazon men's brand). The shirts weren't part of the Prime Day deals though. My daughter found some books. Some were from a series called Twisted Tales.

Our postman practically dumped our Amazon boxes down when he delivered them today. Unfortunately 2 of the boxes didn't belong to us but our neighbor. My ds took the neighbors their boxes. I think the postman was tired and NOT happy with our Prime Day purchases. I bought 2 things and my ds bought 3 things (2 boxes).

Our postman practically dumped our Amazon boxes down when he delivered them today. All of my orders came via Amazon Delivery vans so my mailman was spared. Two packages came yesterday (1st day shopping). Today the other 4 packages arrived. I couldn't believe the pile of boxes when I opened the door. Here was today's shipment: And this is what was inside those boxes - 2 packs of vinyl, 2 packs of cutting mats and 2 small Stasher bags. Really Amazon? You've lost your minds!

Forgot to mention in my other post: I chose the slower shipping option that gives me a $1 digital credit for that order. Even though I didnāt choose Prime 2-day shipping, I received one package with 5 orders on Tuesday, and several other items have already shipped. My No-Rush Reward balance is up to $16 already, and it should be over $30 after everything ships.

Iām not sure what my total was. I ended up buying the cutting blades I needed for my electronic cutter before Prime Day so I would get the $10 credit. I bought 12x12 and 12x24 mats for my cutter, two sets of perforated baking mats, a Rocketbook reusable notebook (and Iāll probably kick myself for not getting one for DD), some smart plugs, the Cookie Monster Tervis tumbler Iāve wanted for about a year (not on sale but I used a gift card I got for Christmas so that one doesnāt count, LOL), some cookie cutters that were on sale plus I had a 50% off code, a laptop case for DD so she will stop using mine, some medium sized cookie boxes, an oven thermometer, a set of silicone spatulas for the cabin, some microfiber hand towels and I think thatās it!
I bought a lot but most of it was stuff I either needed and was waiting for a good price, or stuff I wanted and was planning to buy anyway. About the only thing that was an impulse buy was the Rocketbook, and now I can use that instead of all the rando notebooks that I can either never find when I need one, or they never have any blank paper in them.

We only bought one thing, because we didn't need anything else. We live in an apartment without air-conditioning (totally normal in this part of the world) and every summer, when the really hot hits us, I wish we had a portable unit. This year, our first spell of hot was last week, and it was still stifling on Monday, so I mentioned to DH that it was Prime Day, and maybe Amazon has them. Half an hour later, one was ordered. It will take a few days to arrive, but that's OK as the weather broke on Tuesday afternoon (in spectacular fashion, I might add!), so it's not so hot now.

I bought items for my classroom and students: dry erase boards and markers, decor, etc. Also some professional development books that were not Prime Day but I had been looking at for awhile.
And I rewarded myself for getting through such a bad school year by ordering an Oasis and the free Kindle Unlimited. The peas enabled that one!

Three pairs of Capri yoga pants (I live in them during the warmer weather (Iām too fat for shorts!). And 2 cheapy Hallmark movies. For a grand total of about $60. Everything was on my need or wish list.
Iām aggravated with myself that I forgot to look for a long āsidewaysā plug cellphone charging cord. The Peas mentioned the cords the other day and I totally forgot to look for one on Prime Days.

nada, zero, zilch.
I must not have needed anything. or even thought I did. Rare. LOL
I do use amazon but have found it more distasteful to do so than in the past. That could be part of it.
