Mainly blankets that are used for TV watching in family room? We use cover blankets year round. I try to keep those Kohl Big Ones for the family room. My best thought is some kind of basket with a lid…. My last container fell apart and now looking for something new and pretty.

I have an ottoman that has storage inside. That’s where all our blankets and some extra pillows go.

I have a blanket ladder in my living room to display my crocheted blankets. A blanket ladder would be cute but my blankets are not considered cute haha more like a hodge podge of everything and plus I think my St. Bernard would think that is a smorgasbord for him 🤣🤣🤣🤣 But I love the idea!

I have a blanket ladder in my living room to display my crocheted blankets. I use a vintage ladder to store my blankets too. The ladder is homemade (not by me) and rustic but the blankets are all store bought. I hope to some day learn to crochet well enough to have a homemade blanket.

All the blankets that we use in the living room match the rest of the decor, so that they look good left out in the room or if they get left on the couch by the kids.
They are rolled up in a pretty gold metal basket next to the couch.
Extra blankets like for sleepovers or fort building are in a blanket cabinet in the hall off the living room.

So anyone is welcome to grab a homemade one and cuddle on the couch with it. Even my dogs have crocheted blankets.

We have an ottoman like J u l e e described and I also have some blankets and quilts in a nice wicker basket beside the chesterfield as well as some of my quilts on the furniture. No excuse to be cold in our house, lol.

Even my dogs have crocheted blankets. That sounds so cozy! I actually have some crochet hooks that I bought when Mom was living with me. She was going to teach me how to make things. I did make a scarf under her direction, but that is the only project I have done so far and it was just a plain stitch. Mom whipped out two baby blankets in the time it took me to make my one scarf. She made the most beautiful, soft baby blankets. I still have the one she made for me when my son was a baby. When all of our kids grew up, she started making two blankets each to put away for eventual great grandchildren. I have two wrapped with a card attached sitting in my hall closet for me to present to my son. My son and his fiancé have decided they don't want to have children, so I'm still holding on to the blankets she made for him. After Mom passed, I packed up the yarn and hooks because I just wasn't ready to try on my own. Once I get situated after the move, I will start lurking on the craft thread. Thanks!

They are just on the furniture. Each chair or couch has their own, so they’re easy to grab when we need/want it. No special storage here.

I have quilts and blankets in multiple places in our den (main room for watching TV etc).
I have handmade quilts (both vintage - - made by relatives who have all passed--and new ones made by me) on two ladders that DH made me as well as a small quilt rack.
In the console under the TV we store several blankets, including a heated throw and DH's woobie.
On the back of the couch we have a quilt I made DH along with the a rag lap quilt I made and two mini quilts I made for the cat.
We have way, way more blankets and quilts and afghans than people.

We use quilts (mostly large lap size) in the living room. They are folded on the ottomans or hanging from the back of the sofa. I have a large split oak basket in the garage I'm thinking about bringing it to stack the quilts in. Trying to decide if I want to give up that floor space or not.

our ottoman is hinged and has storage inside -- so that's where our blankets go.
Before we had that a blanket would stay on the back of the sofa, or in the hall closet.

This sounds like us, but we mostly have quilts (50+) that were made by grandmothers and myself, as well as some crocheted blankets. We've never owned store bought blankets in 44 years. Bedspreads/duvets yes, but not blankets.

I have one on the back of my couch in the living room. It’s there because it’s the only one that matches my decor. All the rest are in the family room in a huge antique crock.

In the bedroom closets. We don't leave throw blankets out in the living area.

Tossed over the back of the couch. Is that wrong? 😂

We live in a very tiny house with no closets so blankets are stored in our hinged ottoman. One stays out on the loveseat (our place is too small for an actual couch) and that gets rotated by season and mood.

Our blankets are left out most of the time. We do have storage ottomans in the living room and family rooms if we feel the need to put them away, but that rarely happens.

I have a Longaberger Corn basket where I keep our lap blankets. Sometimes they are nicely folded in there and other times I just toss them in.

In theory, I have a pretty wicker basket that the blankets and throws are artfully arranged in.
In reality, those blankets and throws are used for forts and the basket is filled with balls, Legos, mini skateboards and whatever else my boys are playing with that day 😂

Mine mostly go with the color scheme of the house so they are draped over the couches and chairs or ottoman. Extras that aren’t necessarily as coordinated are on hangers in the front coat closet.

Our large ottoman/coffee table has a platform as its base. We have baskets there to throw commonly used items in, closest to the spot on the couches that they’re used. I’m big on efficiency and function, so I love that we can just shove things in the baskets. And I’m anal retentive and need things super neat visually for my anxiety, so I also love that we can be lazy like that and the space looks clean and streamlined. One day I am determined to knit a blanket that matches the decor to throw over the couch ‘just so’ but not today We also have extra storage in our entertainment center for larger pillows and items not used as frequently like the heated blankets hand warmers, and sweaters for our guests!

So normally ours are over the sides of the couch but nothing matches them so I get a little ocd about how ugly it is… I’m getting a new couch and chair next weekend so I’m thinking of a way that they are close at hand but not just all over the place. I see Amazon has some big round baskets that look cute and not expensive so might try that out and see how they look.
