No blankets except in the winter on the bed. Those blankets are stored in blanket storage bag things in the master bathroom linen closet. Do not have blankets in the family room.

Hmmmm, well I don't really "store" them as such. We have a couple of fleece blankets that we use on the couch in winter. When not in use we chuck them over the back of the couch (between the couch and the wall) where nobody can see them. I am seriously lacking in linen cupboard storage space.

We each have our own. Mine is always on my chair because my little dog likes to sit on it when he sits on my lap. DH keeps his on the back of his chair in the colder months, then wadded up in a heap behind his chair for another month until I get sick of seeing it there and wash it and fold it up, and then it goes on a pile of extra folded up blankets and my Comfy next to the fireplace, next to my chair for the summer. DD is usually too hot for a blanket unless she’s in her bed so she keeps all of hers in her room. She has multiple blankets and throws of various sizes.

yes I have a nice decorative basket that holds our blankets plus I usually have one on the sectional.
I like a low wide basket to hold the blankets and it looks nice.

Currently? In the living room we have like 10 fleece tie blankets (for 4 people and 3 cats)
There are 3 blankets dumped in heaps on the couches- the kids used them to play on the floor with today. The others are folded (neatly?) in baskets slid under the console table under the TV.
DH hates the blankets, the rest of us love them. He’s out numbered so he loses. 🤣

I have all cream colored throw blankets (neutral so they match whatever season decor I’ve got going on). One is folded over the back of my love seat that I use almost always while watching tv. The rest are folded in baskets under my sofa table.

My house is in a farmhouse style. I would love to have a vintage leather suitcase or two in my tv area to store blankets. Or a steamer trunk.

We got rid of the coffee table and remplace it with a large ottoman that has storage for all the blankets.

All the blankets that we use in the living room match the rest of the decor, so that they look good left out in the room or if they get left on the couch by the kids. They are rolled up in a pretty gold metal basket next to the couch.
Extra blankets like for sleepovers or fort building are in a blanket cabinet in the hall off the living room. This is what we do too, but our basket is leather, not gold

We use quilts (mostly large lap size) in the living room. They are folded on the ottomans or hanging from the back of the sofa. I have a large split oak basket in the garage I'm thinking about bringing it to stack the quilts in. Trying to decide if I want to give up that floor space or not. If you don't want to give up much floor space, a ladder might be the way to go. It doesn't take up much floor space and only about 18 to 24 inches of wall space depending on how wide you make it. DH made mine with 2 1"x3" boards (6 feet) and some 1 inch dowels. The long boards are painted black and the dowels are stained. Of course, the only part of the dowels you see are what is sticking out on the sides. The best part is you can see so much of the design of the beautiful quilts, which you don't see when they are on a regular quilt rack or folded in a basket.

That's a good idea. However, we don't have the wall space for one. When we remodeled in 2012/13, we opened up our living area so have minimal wall space. The basket is a nice handmade one FIL had made for us years ago, so it really should be in the house. Just have to figure out where it can live comfortably!
