My mom gave me several family VHS is to convert to DVD and this weekend and one of them was my high school graduation VHS. On it was my best friend‘s high school boyfriend and it got me remembering that several years ago in the mail came one of those little flyers that had coupons for carpet cleaning and stuff on one side but the other side it always has “have you seen this child” and it had a picture of her ex. He had apparently abducted his own child and they suspected he was going to Canada. Seeing him on the video in my mother’s house got me thinking and wondering if they ever found him and the child. I googled his name, it has an apparently unusual spelling, and all I could find on him was his death date and a picture of his tombstone. I was just curious if I signed up for ancestry temporarily what information I might find.
googling his mothers name just takes you to her Facebook but it doesn’t seem to have any thing on there mostly just recipes and pro Trump stuff. His dad‘s information doesn’t pull up anything.
I am sure that the tombstone is his, the birthday month is correct and my friend said she is sure the mom’s name is correct, but she cannot find anything either.

What info are you hoping to find? She was mostly just curious what happened to him, we are not even 50 yet. He died over 10 years ago, which was about the time I got the mail about him having kidnapped his son. His tombstone said that he was a loving father, husband and son which we found interesting if he had in fact kidnapped his own child.

If you want to PM his name and whatever other info you have I'll run some searches. I have a full subscription to Ancestry. If you have approximate birthdate, mother or father's name, area he lived in, correct spelling etc. The more info the better the search will be.
eta I also have a limited subscription to newspapers.com. Would need to know the state and area he lived in to find an obit or news story.

Regarding the tombstone: It would have been placed there by others who may have chosen to ignore the kidnapping, or thought it was proof of how deeply he loved his son.
The infamous bank robber, killer of others etc. Bonnie Parker--Bonnie Parker's gravestone is inscribed: "As the flowers are all made sweeter by the sunshine and the dew, so this old world is made brighter by the lives of folks like you."

It was the husband part that threw us off, not the father part. We assumed he was divorced since he abducted his child.
