I couldn't find that mega thread where we talk about what we've watched recently. But I wanted to say that we watched the documentary on Disney + called Wolfgang about Wolfgang Puck.
It is only about 1.5hrs so not a huge drain on time.
But it's so wonderful! It talks about his growing up and the shots of him cooking were so excellent.
It was heartwarming in many ways.
I've never been to Spago but I remember when I was in my twenties, I made a Spago cheesecake from a cookbook and it was excellent. He's very talented.
Have you seen it?

i haven't but i am interested. we went to disney in 2014 and our lunch at wolfgang express was one of our faves! i have amazing pictures of that food - its been so long, i think kids had pizza and i had some roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and veg?? i just remember big portions and tasted like real, home cooked food after a lot of fast food/processed food. what i definitely remember was the cheesecake for dessert.... mmmmm..... i want it. now. thanks for recommendation, will check it out!!

I can't stand watching him on the shopping channel, because he is constantly wiping his nose while he's cooking. Ewwww! but I hear his restaurants are great.
I will probably watch the doc. to hear his story.

I heard him on a sirius/xm channel about 2 weeks ago. I am sure it was publicity for this doc. It was being debuted the weekend right after I heard him at some film fest. Anyway, it was so interesting to hear him talk about the lack of support from his dad and the major support from some of his chefs early on. I was then floored when he said what top shelf wait staff made in large cities. What they had to do, etc. They were making more than the sous chefs and back of the house folks.
I do want to catch the documentary. Thanks for reminding me!
