Who on earth thought this would be a good idea. A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips, I would imagine.

I love sweets, but this is too much! No, just no.

Well may with something other than fruit pie. I'd be intrigued by a shoo fly put in a ginger cake. I dunno Yep the combo has to be a good match... Yours sounds like one of like to try!

I don't care for cooked fruit so looking at the photo makes me wonder why they ruined a good cake.

It's a terrible idea. I don't love the idea of turducken, but I'd try that in a minute before I'd eat this.

Even on that wiki page the photo just doesn't look appetizing to me. I am not a "my food can't touch each other" kind of person, but in this case...keep those foods apart, please.

In the right combination of flavors, I'd like to try it!
I have had the Cheesecake Factory Pumpkin Pecan cheesecake which is basically a pecan pie with pumpkin cheesecake on top. It is a delicious combo of "cake" and pie!

Here's a Pumpecappleversion for your holiday table. None of them tell you how many Weight Watchers points they are though.

We made the churpumple several years ago just to see if we could. It was hilarious and fun. Im suprised to see this again because my dh reminded me of it last week and we decided to just do part of it...a pumpkin pie in a spice cake. It was pretty tasty. So we are having that for thanksgiving dessert.

oh my goodness, that story says the pumpecapple weighed 24 lbs!!! I don't see how the cakes would bake correctly with the pies inside, but it definitely would be an unforgettable dessert!

It's dessert. I'm sure it's not horrible. Wasn't the "pake" a think on Drop Dead Diva??? Exactly what I was just thinking about - but I think it was the opposite, a cake baked in a pie format.

That one looks not good to me. Too much going on that do not need to be near another. I saw one that I thought might be ok. I think it was pecan (already baked) in a chocolate cake, I think. It seemed to me it be like an inside-out German chocolate cake. Kind of "go together" flavors.? KWIM But generally, no. Just no.

It seems like a lot of work for a fad. It doesn't really appeal to me at all.
