The end of October I ordered the lego city advent for my son.
It it never arrived, so I checked on it today. They said that it was sent back as a return because it was attempted delivery 3 times. The person who answered the door, not me by the way, said that nobody lived there by that name.
The thing is it was my correct address on the order. Now they are out of stock online and in every store in a 100 mile radius. My kid is so sad. I am ticked, and I really don't want to pay double ordering online.
I am so freaking mad at Target right now!
I know, I need to get over it. Lol! Thanks for allowing me to vent. I hate to let my kid down.

Who was the carrier? It might be their fault, not Target's.

UPS, transferred to the post office per the shippers request. I am totally irritated that they won't ship from a store, but I am more than welcome to drive to one. It irritates me even more that they told me mine was in their return center, but they won't reship it.
I know, I know, get over it.

Amazon has them for $20.00 more than I paid. I will end up ordering one, but I am totally annoyed right now.

That sucks but probably the carriers fault and not Target except that they contracted with them. It sounds like it was smart post and I hate smart post. I will pay extra to avoid it now after learning that it means an extra week to the delivery time even though it should only add a day or two. I know sometimes you don't have the option or even know that is how it is shipped until too late.
Did they not send an email stating that it was shipping? I am not a fan of Target on-line either they have messed with me a couple of times now and have really slow shipping if yo are doing the free shipping thing.
Sorry that you had to pay more for it but your son will be really happy they are a lot of fun.

I am thinking it was Smart Post since that is what the last order I got from them was.

I just bought one today at Target for my grandson from my local Target. Thank heaven he wanted the City and not the Star Wars one because that one was sold out.
I'm going back to Target tomorrow to get another doggy sweater for one of my dogs. I'd be happy to get one for you if they still have any. I'm in Indiana, not sure we're you are, but even with UPS shipping it may be cheaper than any where on the net.
Let me know if your interested!
ETA: I think it was $29.99 and I have 7% sales tax

I'm sorry. I tried calling their customer service department the other day and had a HORRIBLE experience (I swear the first lady I talked to was answering calls out of her home). For a huge corporation like that, you'd think they'd have their sh*t together a little more, right? I hope something works out for your son.

Ugh. I'm sorry. I don't like that Smart Post business. It seems like too many cooks in the kitchen to me.

Dh is going on a business trip tomorrow. As soon as he gets home we are going to look up the stores by where he is going. If none of them have it, I will let you know! Thank you so much!

Lots of call centers are moving their employees to work at home. It is more productive and a great incentive. I am one of those workers. That doesn't excuse bad customer service at all. But I don't see the problem with them working at home.

That can get us is reprimanded and/or fired. Although some noises/things are beyond our control of coyrse. I actually had a lady get pissed at me when I lost power and apologized profusely but told her she needed to call back. Whst she wanted me to do I am not sure. I was sitting in the dark with no computer to be able to transfer her. Life sometimes happens. Sigh.

I'm not sure it's Target's fault, but I do feel your frustration with the situation. It stinks to look forward to receiving an online purchase then having the shipping issue.

Sorry that she was not kind to you in that situation, however I am surprised that your employer does not make you have a small UPS for your computer, exactly for this type of situation.
I think we just discussed this on another thread not too long ago (maybe about lightening?) and someone that also worked out of their home had some kind of UPS type service through their power company. I think that would be a very beneficial service for anyone who worked from home. I don't think we have it in my area, we would instead have to go old school and install a little mini UPS.

I don't have a problem with it if I can get the customer service needed, but the way this woman answered the phone was, "Hello? Hello?"--like I was calling her house. Then I heard kids. It wasn't professional and was really strange. ETA: Sorry--I meant to quote scrappower but messed up.

It wouldn't keep my internet going though in a power outage because of how my system is set up, so it would do us no good. And we already have to purchase all our computers, etc out of pocket so I am glad we don't need one more expense. It has happened to me once in two years. I think a customer could call back. Life happens.

Life certainly does happen at times, it is helpful when everyone remembers that and is considerate. I would say having only 1 power outage during your working hours is pretty amazing. I/we have way more than that just during the summer, and when you add in the winter months. Unfortunately I think I would have to be forking out the extra cash.

I hate that smart post delivery system. I have had two things shipped that way. One last Christmas that didn't arrive until New Years and then another thing a month ago that never got here. They are reshipping through USPS only.

I hate smart post too. Every single time I have something from amazon come that way, I get an email the day before saying UPS attempted delivery but couldn't leave the package unattended and to call UPS to make other arrangements. The first couple of times I called UPS and they said they still had the pkg and never even attempted delivery and that it was shipped via smart post so it would be passed on to the post office the following day. There was never a need for these emails at all and my items usually get here on time-only in my mailbox instead of from UPS. I keep trying to opt out of smart post but it never works.

I used to love ordering yarn from knitpicks.com. Spent $100's there. Then they switched to Smart Post, I had trouble with every order and it was soooooo slow. Now I order yarn from the UK and it gets here faster than knitpicks.com. Not quite the selection but the speed makes up for it.
