School is finally out, later in some places than others, but everyone should be enjoying a wonderful summer break! Welcome to the back to the 2021 Organized 2PeasRefugees scrap challenge. It does not matter where you are in your journey of organizing you are welcome to join us and do a little or do a lot! Find a system that works for you and your space. How do you scrap and shop your supplies? Is your space tiny or a whole room? Do you live where there special considerations such as flooding or dust? There is not one way that is better than another, just what is best for your style and needs! This challenge is to encourage you to work towards a more organized crafting life, so that you can find what you purchased when you want to use it! My best rule of thumb is that it should not take more than three moves to get to what you want to use on your project. If you are on a team for the team challenges you can claim 10 points for each hour spent. The time does not need to be consecutive. Bonus of 1 point for each before and after photo. The following tasks will count towards the crafting organization: • Cleaning up after your latest crafting session (ie desk before, desk after) • Scrubbing or vacuuming the floor in your space. Dusting your space (I live in the desert next to a dirt road and own four German Shepherds so this is a regular event ) • Organizing a supply or completely re-doing your entire space. • Sorting, editing, backing up, or ordering photos. • Setting up page kits for photos or organizing the ones that you get as a monthly subscription with photos. • Essentially anything that is related to crafting that needs to be done to “spark joy”! (I’m not necessary a huge Marie Kondo fan . . . but she does have some good ideas!) So this month the scrappy supplies to organize for bonus points are tools, templates, stencils and adhesives! Bonus points, each hour is worth 20 points! Sorry no photos this month at this point, but mine are basically good to go right now! The NSBR bonus points challenge-- Simplify your shoe collection. I've been dealing with a bunion and I am really hoping to avoid surgery. I had one foot done about 18 years ago and the recovery time is long and inconvenient! So this is perfect for me to go through my shoes and make some decisions! I have shoes that are older than my oldest kiddo (25 years!) Holding on to uncomfortable shoes you’ll never wear? Today is the day to let them go! Nice quality shoes in good condition can be sold via The Real Real, or you can list them on apps like Poshmark. copied from: Composed Living And with this bonus you get 20 points per hour, 2 points per pair of shoes you either throw away, donate, or list for sale! I have a real pair of Doc Martin sandals . . . that may have to go up for sale so I can get some new Taos Sandals! grammadee

On my MacBook, I change all of the folder icons for my digital kits to pictures, which makes it easier to see at a glance what the kit looks like. Then I can just scroll through and choose which one I want to use. When I got my MacBook back after getting it fixed, all of the folders went back to just the blue folder view. So now I have to re-do the pictures....... for all 600+ kits! It is soooooo tedious, it's an 8 step process for every folder. Ugh! I am about halfway through. Then after the kits, I will have to do the templates and papers and styles etc etc. So most of my organising this month will be doing that.

I think I'm good to go on the scrappy challenge and the nsbr challenge - I own one pair of Sketchers, a pair of crocs, a pair of crocs sandals and yeah...that's it.

Very tedious, keep track of your hours, and COUNT THEM! You know what works for you so taking the time to organize well make digital scrapbooking go much quicker in the future. Glad to hear you have your MacBook back!

I've never been a shoe girl - I was a barefoot girl as much as possible until I ended up with plantar fascitis, bunionettes, neuropathy, and venous insufficiency...now I wear compression socks and my Sketchers with custom inserts all day and crocs or crocs sandals once the shoes/socks come off in the late evening.

Ouch! I had custom inserts after my first surgery for the bunion on my left foot. Now I am searching for the right combination of arch support and (metatarsal support for the right foot only). I am trying to avoid surgery, and would still like to wear different shoes. I love my Sketchers too, but do have arch support and said metatarsal pad.

I'm working on a big craft room re-org. I spent a 3 hours today cleaning out and re-doing the height of the shelves in my desk. I went through four 12x12 iris containers full of unused collections (!) and tried to make sense of it all. I ordered more 12x12 iris containers so I can move some things around to make better use of these empty shelves. They won't get here until Friday, so I will move onto another section of my room while I wait for them to be delivered. My arms feel like spaghetti, so I'm going to take a giant bag of out of control ribbon to the couch and work on spooling what I can.

Does “donating” a pair of boots out of my closet into my daughter’s count as getting rid of them? Lol or do they have to actually get out of my house? I’ve been working on my son’s closet this week while he’s at camp. It’s mostly stuff I’m hanging onto and I’m trying to let go of stuff so he can actually use it. I’m pretty much finished except for putting some things back in.
Craft wise- I want to work out a better storage for my different alphabet items. I’ve got all my alpha stickers in a file, rub ons in an embellishment box, and chipboard letters with other die cuts and chipboard. I usually go to the sticker folder and this week found some rub ons that I forgot I had when I was looking for something else. I’m debating about putting all alpha items in an iris box and trying that for awhile.

I'm doing a clean out of my scrapbook room and reorg. I haven't actually scrapbooked anything this month, but I've been thinking that I would be much happier if I got rid of a lot of my clutter. So I decided to start with the scrapbook room. I've already put two hours into it and I'm trying to keep going this week.

jeremysgirl - I find digging through my stash, reorganising it, and getting rid of stuff that doesn't work for me often jumpstarts my creativity I dropped my index card box of sketches and they scattered - were organised by number of photos -these are mostly older sketches and I don't reach for them all that often anymore but I do sometimes. I've been mulling around a better sketch system...currently I have printouts from sketchy saturday and Sketchtember (not up to date) in one folder and some random printouts and tear-outs from magazines in another folder plus this little box and stuff saved to my computer...I think it would be easier to have everything in ONE place. So maybe dropping the box is a sign I need to figure it out?

Glad you ladies have been busy organizing. I’m on the road close to Glacier National Park. It will end up being a 5000k miles or so over the next 18 days. So if I’m not around to comment that’s why. I got rid of 9 pairs via donation, 4 to the garbage, and 2 o will sell on eBay. So 15 pairs out! Guess I really was overdue! But a few pairs are being replaced that have better support. Just an FYI I will still be on the road on 8/1, so won’t have an organization post we are at EAA AirVevture 7/24-8/1 then will spend a week visiting friends on the way home.

angel97701 - well done on the shoes - 18 out is awesome! Have a wonderful time on the road! Sounds like quite the adventure. EAA? I think that's the group that did flights for kids at a local airshow - DD14 had a wonderful time on her first flight!

angel97701, if no one volunteers to set up the August organizational challenge, I can copy and paste the first part of your first post here into an August challenge thread. Thinking I will leave out the bonus challenges? Have to admit I have not been following along month to month so don't want to repeat. I need to organize my mixed media, but won't be doing much of that kind of thing in August: we will have people here for two different weeks, and then we are going to be away for a week ourselves.

Yes, just copy & paste the first part. I don’t even have my lists along on my trip. So go for it.
