I found this interesting. www.c-span.org/presidentsurvey2021/?page=overall I don't know too much about US politics but wow, Pierce, Johnson, and Buchanan must have been a piece of work to be ranked lower than Trump overall. Though Trump did rank the lowest on moral authority and admnistrative skills.

Reagan is definitely ranked too high. Ignored AIDS, weapons deals, vetoed the anti-apartheid act, terrible economic policies, union buster, and racist (remember the myth of the "welfare queen?").
I think the only reason he scored that high is the cooling of tensions with the Soviet Union.

Reagan is definitely ranked too high. His thinking was buffoonish and his admin and acolytes started us on the "us vs. them" path that we're still on and suffering with today. He made it "good vs. evil" instead of "these ideas vs. these ideas".

And trickle down economics? That was a complete failure. Nixon ranked higher than I would have expected, too. Happy to see Carter higher on the list, I think he’s under-appreciated. As an administrator, he may not have been great but in terms of environmental policy and as a humanitarian, he was great. He wasn’t afraid to tackle messy problems with no potential political gain. And he ranks as one of the best ex-presidents. Former could definitely take some notes from him.

As time passes and the damage dt did continues, his ranking might move down. His actions have been toxic to our country.

Thanks for that info and now it appears obvious regarding his affinity with Andrew Johnson.

Honestly I think the methodology is flawed. You can't have a bastard like Andrew Jackson only getting dinged for the Trail of Tears and Indian Removal Act on 1/10 criteria. I don't really care if your administrative skills were effective when you killed thousands forcing people from land they legally owned.

Andrew Jackson and former are both at the bottom or near bottom and rightly so, for moral authority and pursued equal justice for all. I’m not sure that the ranking includes enough personal traits. I would like to see a ranking that also includes characteristics like honesty, integrity, intelligence, compassion, empathy, generosity, kindness etc. Jimmy Carter, for example, is a great person but not a great president. Andrew Jackson and former are both terrible people.
