I'm going to "invest" (aka sink a whole lot of money into) a Foundations magnetic shadow box and a decorative kit for each month of the year. I'm comfortable using Mod Podge to attach paper to the wood pieces, but I'm not sure what to use to attach the various wood piece together. Any suggestions for a good glue for wood?

Wood to wood I’d use a wood glue Elmers, gorilla glue, titebond. Etc

I've used Elmer's wood glue in the past when assembling furniture (to reinforce wood dowels, etc) and it's worked well! Right now Amazon has it for a pretty good price too. The tip on the bottle might not be the best for delicate/small areas though, so you could put it in a smaller bottle with a finer point if you want to.

Thanks for the suggestions! I didn't even think of just using wood glue. I'm going to raid my husband's tool box right now.

Yup, a good wood glue is by far the best thing. Done right, the joint will be stronger than the wood itself!
